Chapter Text
"GUMBALL"
I was startled awake to see Mom and Darwin standing over my bed. "Gumball show me your arms"
"What?" I asked confused, I hadn't woken up fully yet.
"Darwin told me what he saw last night, now show me your arms" Mom said impatiently.
"Darwin lied"
"Prove it"
"I will after I use the bathroom, I really need to pee." I replied jumping out of bed.
Mom walked over to the door and blocked it. "You can go to the bathroom after you show me your arms"
As I was trying to think of a way out of this Mom interrupted me. "Now Gumball," she said sternly.
Slowly I pulled up my sleeves, revealing deep cuts on top of scars.
Quickly sucking in a breath her eyes widened. "Darwin, could you please leave the room so I could have a private conversation with Gumball?" She requested quietly while taking a seat on the end of my bed. Once Darwin left the room she turned to look at me. "Gumball what have you done."
"I'm sorry mom, it was an accident" I said with tears falling from my eyes.
"I do everything I can to make you happy, why do you feel the need to do this"
"I've just been so tired lately, I'm really sorry mom" That was the most I have opened up to someone about this and I hated it. I hated how I made her feel. She deserved way better than this, she practically single handle takes care of this family. "I won't do it again, I promise" I fully meant what I said even though I knew it would end up being a lie.
"How long has this been going on?" Mom asked
"I don't know"
"I will let this slide if you promise to come to me if you ever feel the need to do it again. Otherwise I'm sending you to therapy Gumball. I love you too much to let you hurt yourself."
"I promise"
After I said that mom pulled me into a hug.
"Go get ready for school while I make breakfast"
"Ok"

I glared at Darwin the whole time we were eating breakfast. I know he only told her because he was scared but it still broke my trust some. I didn't expect him to keep my secret but I thought I would at least have a little bit of time to prepare. While walking to the bus stop Darwin stepped in front of me so I was forced to stop and look him in the eyes.
"Look man, I get that you're mad at me but it's not fair to hold this against me. I did what was best for you" He said to me.
I just scuffed and pushed him out of the way. "Leave me alone Darwin" I muttered to him while I walked on the bus. I knew I was sabotaging myself but I kept telling myself it was what was best for everyone else. I didn't want to drag them down with me. I took a seat next to Tobias instead of my usual seat next to Darwin.
