Chapter Text
“Walton! O’Neal! Why are there metal springs buried in my garden?”
“What makes you think those are our springs, sir?”
“Are they?”
“Well yes, but you couldn’t know that.”
“I’m capable of reasonable assumptions. Now, tell me why they’re there before we discuss when you’ll remove them.”
“Elmer left a clock on my bed.”
“Yes, it’s Elmer’s fault! I didn’t know the clock was there, so—”
“He sat on it.”
“Not on purpose. But then Elmer wanted us to ‘ameliorate the situation’. So the garden is proof we’re trying to obtain springs to fix his clock, of course.”
“Of course.”
