Chapter Text

The military case. The metal one they use to store weapons. It was locked, hidden away in the greenhouse, under the plants. The ordinary workers here had been replaced after I came here on Travis' orders. So they wouldn't recognize me. Staring at the contents, I feel vomit rising in my throat, only to return to my stomach. Tears trailing down the sides of my face. There they were: my original AMT Hardballers. I hadn't used them since my Personal Contract on Benjamin Travis, The Praetorians and Travis' assistant, Jade. Next to them was a pair of gloves. Familiar leather gloves. The suit was drenched, since the sprinklers were controlled by an altered version of the AI from GAMA. A version for domestic life. I'd need to visit Tommy again, to get a replacement.

"Ah, hello, 47! I'd assumed you'd be on your way at some point, so I picked out some replica's of suits you've worn before, along with a few new designs based upon your usual style." Tommy greets. "Of course. I did call you to make an appointment, after all. Thank you for not telling Diana about this, Tommy. I appreciate it." I reply. "Don't mention it, 47! Tailor-Client confidentiality!" Tommy says, smiling. "I can't help but notice you look younger than your last visit! How old are you now? It's been ten years." "57." I respond. "57? What's your secret?" Tommy asks, laughing. "I'm not a normal human, Tommy." I say, closing the dressing room curtain.

"47, why are you wearing that?" Diana asks. "Sorry, Ms. Burnwood, but I kinda need you and 47 to help me with something." Carlton says. I ignore the discussion, thinking about the sins I'd committed the first time I saw this house. After a few minutes, I get pulled out of my regrets. "Is this true, 47?" Diana asks. "What?" I reply. "That one of the No. 48's survived. Is it true?"  She explains. "Yes. Carlton has the Intel." I reply. "This guy's big, Lady Di. He was the one true constant the entire time. Ort-Meyer hid him away to protect him from 47. He also controlled The Franchise. He's operating out of either the Institute For Human Betterment, or Ort-Meyer's asylum. He could even be operating out of the old ICA HQ."
