*Recording starts the voice of Moira O'Deorain starts speaking:*
This was supposed to be a simple mission ever since our mission in Rialto ended everyone found out about Blackwatch. Nothing ever was simple, but this mission should have been very calm and orderly doing some recon and getting out, no detection this was something we use to do mildly well but ever since that fateful mission when Reyes took out Oslo Antonio. He was put under careful watch by Strike Commander Morrison and Captain Amari they wanted to make sure he wouldn’t get into any more trouble with the UN Genji was put on a mission with Lena Oxford for Overwatch so it was just me and Cassidy both Reyes and the Strike commander made it clear what we must do.
Infiltrate a Talon base in some remote mountains in the alps get the information we need then leave as quickly with just me and Cassidy left at night brought some equipment that would help us not much ammunition since we would have to be quiet should have been easy I was pretty confident but I was wrong. Since the mission started something just felt off, I could not put my finger on what it was but honestly, the whole mission was pretty hazy after Cassidy tripped that alarm we ran as fast as we could and made it to a cave before we got blown up and caved in.*
Moira woke up her head hurt a bit and coughed a little as she breathed dust the cave was pitch black not even moonlight was present the doctor stood up there was a slight pain in her leg but ignored it she put a hand on her back and without having to look she knew that her healing pack was mostly damaged which was annoying in itself Moria reached into a pocket pulling out an emergency glowstick snapped it to light up the room so she could get a better look around.
She turned to where they came in and was closed off by a ton of rocks. Moira made sure she had her bag of a few medical supplies that were good to use and wasn't too damaged and pulled out her communicator it didn't seem broken so she turned it on. “This is Moria O'Deorain requesting emergency help does anyone copy?” It was silent likely there was no signal in there sighed and ran a hand through her hair putting her bag down today wasn't getting any better.
“Well that went well amazing, a job there Cassidy this has to be the second-worst mission we’ve ever been on.” She looked around after no response from the cowboy. “Cassidy, it is no fun if you don’t say anything back.”
A grown came from behind her turned around and saw Cassidy with one arm crushed under some rocks, and some scrapes on his face but other than that, he looked fine even though his stupid cowboy was still placed on his head. A pity she thought it was probably too much to ask for it to have fallen from his head while they were running. “That’s just fantastic now wake up." Moira kicked him a bit Cole opened his eyes and cursed and glared at the healer.
"What in the Sam hell did you do that for..” He growled then made a whimpering noise and bit the bottom of his lip trying his hardest to ignore the excruciating pain that was coming from his arm. “What’s going on, and where the hell are we?”
She sighs and then looked away from the young sharpshooter. “You tripped the alarm, we ran into this cave which had explosives-rigged, and now we’re trapped in this cave but at least we’re no longer in the grasp of Talon.”
The medic looked at the rocks that were blocking them from the entrance then keeled down to take a look at how stuck her teammate was most of his arm to his elbow was trapped and most likely crushed under the rocks blood was on the ground and pooling by the young man's side. The healer rubbed her chin trying to think out a plan when she heard a noise coming from behind the wall of rocks that sounded like voices she couldn't make out and the movement of the stone.
Moria stood up again crossing her arms and looking at the cave-in as she spoke. “We don’t have much time it sounds like they’re trying to come in here.”
“shit.” he tried to pull his arm out but shouted in pain he couldn’t feel his arm other than that he was in pain and wasn't even able to move his fingers. “Fuck, what are we going to do?” Cassidy asked looking at the woman having Reinhardt at that moment would have been amazing, or Mercy she was nicer and her staff wasn't broken like Moria's pack.
She thought for a moment moved over to her bag and pulled out a very big and sharp-looking bone-saw. “Well, I have one idea,” Moira said looking from her tool to Cassidy's arm he turned white as a sheet and looked at her as if she was crazy.
“I know that you ain’t think about cutting off my arm!” the young male yelled at her and tried to move away but couldn’t move far because of his arm and the pain and the bolder that was crushing said arm she was looking at.
“And what exactly do you suppose there is no way I can lift those rocks and get you out before they get in here. and even if I did your arm would be useless your bones are most likely crushed into many many small pieces and would just be a pain to fix.” Moira wasn’t amused at how he was reacting to this situation. “Come now Cassidy do not be a baby.” Cole glared at her. “You are suggesting that we cut off my arm I ain’t being a baby!!”
“Cassidy this is the only logical way of getting out of there fast and if you’re worried about only having one arm Ziegler will most likely make you a new one or Torbjorn whoever! At this point, you'll just bleed to death before they even break-in.” She said getting more and more annoyed.
“It’s not that bad and you shouldn’t complain seeing as how Genji has only one human arm and the rest of him is a cyborg.” He looks away from her to look at his arm that was keeping them here what she was saying was true he could have a new arm if he lost this one but that wasn’t the point. He rubbed his face with his free arm and then look at her. “How much is this going to hurt?" She looked at him trying to sound comforting isn't her strong suit nor did she care but she tried to make it sound as serious as it was.
"I’m not going to lie or sugar coat it’s going to be one of the most painful things you’ll ever feel. I am cutting off your arm without anesthesia or anything that could numb the pain it's not going to feel good but it’s our only way to get out of here.”
He hesitated for a few seconds then closes his eyes. “Just get it over with already before I change my mind." The young male said not looking at her Cassidy was so not looking forward to this he’s going to lose his arm that isn’t something you can take lightly. Moira took the bone saw and move so she can get better access to the arm she looked at the young male for a quick moment she took Cassidy's belt off folded it in half then moved the leather bit over to his mouth. "Now, Cassidy, you’re going to want to bite down very hard this should help not hurt yourself from biting your tongue off. Also, it’ll quiet your screams.”
Cassidy bit down hard and closed his eyes tighter trying to brace himself for the pain that he was about to feel and at that moment he wished that Gabe was there. Even though he and Reyes weren’t getting along at the moment he could use someone to be there to comfort him knowing that Moira wasn’t the best person in that aspect and the fact that he didn’t trust her and she was the one cutting off his arm. Gabriel was like a father to him was the one who gave him a chance after the Deadlock and taught him how to be a better man hell maybe if the commander was here they wouldn't have gotten into this situation. Cole could feel his heart beating fast he tried to call himself down and try not to think about what was going to happen and wondered if he’d faint or pass out.
The doctor held onto the sharp shooter’s shoulder and placed the saw right above below his first bicep and above his elbow.
*Moira chucked a bit but continued:* This part of my memory became fuzzy I remembered screaming from Cole Cassidy and blood lots of blood but I healed him the best that I could with how damaged my pack was and used all of her gauze and some of his serape to wrap up the wound. Sometime during the amputation, the cowboy became unconscious so I had to pull him up and had him leaning on me, and started to drag/walk away from where they were.
I can't tell you how they got out of there it was a blur all I remembered from that point was walking out of the cave and seeing Commander Reyes and the strike commander himself and you know the rest we were emergency evacuated back to Overwatch headquarters Cassidy was rushed to the medical bay they couldn't save his arm if I was told correctly but honestly, it's not that much of a loss. I was checked over and now I'm being interrogated...
Oh sorry giving my statement to you three I don't know what else you need me to say the boy is fine and we got the information that you so desperately needed and with this new arm Cassidy should be even more of a better shot.
*There was a noise of a chair scraping and a scuffle the tape turns off for a moment then back on the voice of Jack Morrison's strike commanders comes on:*
Moira O'Deorain finished her statement not giving much more after Ga... Blackwatch Commander Rayes became concerned with how carless she was about Cole's recovery she was put under suspension and was being closely watched by Dr.Ziegler to track her mental state while she did have a fracture in her right leg Dr. O'Deorain was fine after this situation and seems to be fine mentally but I don't know things don't add up...but
Angela says Cole isn't mentally or physically ready to talk about what happened in the cave and I don't blame him so until he is we just have O'Deorain's word we sent some scouts to look for his belt and.. and arm but couldn't find either Cassidy isn't happy about the belt but we'll get him a new one Lena and Genji haven't left Cassidy's side and Gabriel watches over him even when Ana and I remind him he needs sleep. This whole thing is a mess I need to talk to Gabe about Blackwatch and if he's keeping her on the team or...* The recorder stops no follow-up recording on this incident.*
