Chapter Text
As they flew back to their base in California, Sarah and Michael took turns looking through the information on their target, Ba'al. After they both finished reading the lengthy dossier, they looked at each other with dour faces.
“This guy doesn't mess around does he. At one point he had dominion over not just one but multiple worlds, and the people of those worlds, heck even other Goa'uld were afraid of him. He makes Al Capone, Ted Bundy, and Jack The Ripper look like Santa's elves,” said Mike.
Sarah looked briefly out the window, before looking back to Mike.
“Yeah he is dangerous, all the more reason to stop him and bring him in. Right?”
Mike hummed while crossing his arms across his chest.
“Yeah, that's why they pay us the big bucks. Well you at least, I'm just making peanuts” he said with a slight grin.
KITT chimed in over Mike's earwig, having heard their conversation.
“Well Mike at least you get paid, I get, how do you put it, diddly squat?”
Mike chuckled. “Oh come on KITT, you get the best maintenance money can buy, all the coolest gadgets, and me as your driver. What would an AI need with money?”
“I suppose you are right Mike. If I do eventually want to relocate to the Bahamas for my retirement, you will take me there. Won't you Mike?”
Sarah and Mike looked at each other, grinning.
“Sure KITT, of course I will. What would retirement be like without my supercar best friend?”
“Indeed Mike.”
Sarah and Mike both laughed, as the plane flew on towards their base.

The plane landed near their secret hangar, and Mike and Sarah waved to Lt. Colonel Sanders as they left. They entered the base, Mike carrying the satchel with their loaned alien equipment. He gingerly placed it on a table, and called their technicians to come over to see.
“Billy, Zoe, come check this out. You will never believe this. We got alien ray-guns!”
Mike pulled one of the zats out of the satchel, grinning like a school boy in a toy store.
Sarah grinned at Mike's antics, as he pulled the zat out of its holster and showed it to Billy and Zoe.
“So I take it you two saw and heard the briefing on the video feed, while we were there?”
Billy looked up from the zat and over to Sarah, regaining his serious composure.
“Oh yeah we are all up to speed, KITT provided us with a copy of the psych profile on our bad guy, as well as the info on his last known whereabouts. We are already pulling what additional info on those areas we can, including blueprints, power consumption profiles, traffic patterns of the surrounding areas, the works. We may have never caught aliens before, but when it comes to just catching bad guys in general, we're pros. Aren't we Zoe?”
Zoe smirked at Billy, also fascinated by the alien device Mike was showing off.
“Well some of us are anyway.” She smirked towards Sarah.
Billy stuck out his tongue briefly at Zoe, then gently rapped his hand on the table.
“Oh yeah, told you so. Aliens are out there, I totally called it. You owe me twenty bucks.”
Zoe scoffed at him, “I owe you nothing, I don't remember making a bet on it. I just said the idea was crazy. Obviously the universe is crazier than we thought.”
Mike looked back and gestured towards KITT, then looked back to Billy.
“So Billy, think we can install one of these ray guns temporarily on KITT for this mission?”
Billy, still looking over one of the zats, glanced up to Mike, and over to KITT.
“Well we will need to do some tests with one, but it doesn't look too complex. We should be able to adapt some kind of retractable holder for it so he can conceal and then deploy one, probably one of the hood compartments where he keeps the... Earthling weapons.”
Mike said, “Well I suppose that means, we should probably take one of these to our armory, so I can show you how it works. Zoe, you want to come too?”
Zoe seemed hesitant. “Hmmm, Mike I trust with weapons. But Billy, well I’ll just mention ‘nailgun’ and ‘two day stay in the hospital’ and not mention anything beyond that, okay?” She smirked.
Billy replied, “That was just the one time, one time! I’ll have you know I am certified marksman on all the weapons we use for field ops including some we don’t. I think I can handle a little raygun.”
Mike crossed his arms across his chest with a serious look at both Billy and Zoe.
“They may look small, maybe even look like something you would get your kids at Christmas, but trust me, these things are NOT toys. Let’s go test them out at our range so you guys get a feel for them, and perhaps a better respect for them, before we go up against a small army of bad guys using them.”
Mike, Billy and Zoe went to their armory, where Mike showed them the basic operations for the zats, and fired a couple test shots at a target, destroying it. He then allowed them each to fire some test shots on fresh targets until they were both familiar with the way they handled.
“OK enough of us playing with rayguns, time to put one of these bad boys on KITT.”
Mike looked over to Billy, who picked up one of the zats again and began to study its form, figuring out how it could mount in one of KITT’s weapon bays and how to trigger it. He then brought the zat with him back to his work station in the central hub of the base, placed the zat on a screen, and got a detailed scan of it.
“OK KITT bring up your weapons bay schematics, and run an analysis of the zat, let’s figure out a mounting system. You’re getting a raygun! Oh yeah!” Billy said, grinning mischievously.
