Work Text:

Everyone and their great grandmothers know that Takemichi Hanagaki belongs to the Haitani brothers.

It’s not old news, not in the delinquent world anyways. The Haitanis had laid claim to the blue eyed boy long before they took over Roppongi and became the gangsters they are today. Takemichi has always stood by their side—compliant and quiet —only getting involved with the brothers affairs when the time called for it.

He always stayed close to the Haitanis; never wandering off on his own, never being seen with anyone other than the brothers themselves, and never alone. An invisible leash was kept tight around his neck as the Haitani’s pranced around town, showing off their beautiful angel to the envious eyes of other delinquents.

And Takemichi, ever the sweet doll that he is, plays along.

He waves, flutters his eyelashes, smiles brightly and wins everyone over with his innocence alone.

But, at the end of the day, he belongs to two people, and two people alone.

    Ran and Rindou.

But, of course, there are still some people who like to remain clueless about the ownership of the blue eyed angel.

And this cluelessness gets people hurt, or worse, killed .

It’s a good thing Takemichi’s too oblivious to notice a single thing.

The Haitani’s first victims were actually Takemichi’s parents.

Now, in their defense, those two bitches were starving Takemichi, beating him, and locking him away in a closet full of spiders because they thought he was a problem.

Takemichi: the boy who practically radiates sunlight and rainbows with a smile. Apparently he was a problem! How ridiculous is that? Very. VERY ridiculous.

Sure, there might’ve been a time where Ran and Rindou thought that Takemichi was troublesome before they actually befriended the small boy.

The curly haired boy was a thief before he met the Haitani’s, a good one too. He stole from food stands, corner stores, pockets, wallets, and festivals like it was second nature. He did it with so much ease and slyness that he’d be gone by the time someone notices that something is missing.

He was ambitious. And scared. And desperate.

And the Haitanis’ knew, from the second they saw him beaten and bruised in an alley, that they were gonna make the boy theirs

It didn’t take long to befriend the boy, not long at all. With just a bowl of noodles and bread, they were able to get the boy talking and yapping in no time.

Then, from there, the three of them became something more.

It soon got to the point where they told eachother everything. From what happened at school to what life is like at home; that’s how the brothers found out about Takemichi’s terrible predicament.

So, of course, after hearing about all the awful things Takemichi’s parents were doing to their beautiful, pure, wonderful son, they took action.

    Action as in murder.

It surprisingly was all that hard. All they had to do was sneak into the Hanagaki house without Takemichi there, pull the trigger, and watch as their brains splatter and coat the white bed sheets they slept in.

    Easy.

And they never got caught because they’re kids.

It doesn’t matter how they got the gun (Rindou snatched it from a pawn shop) or how they got Takemichi out of the house before they offed the boy’s parents (Ran gave him some candy to help him go to sleep while he was visiting the Haitanis) but all that mattered was that Takemichi was safe.

    Safe and all theirs.

Sure, he cried and grieved for his parents for whatever reason, but the two brothers were there to help him through the pain and misery. They gave him a place to stay, food to eat, drinks to quench his thirst, and unconditional love at every corner.

And Takemichi remained hopeless and oblivious

They’re second victim was…a cute girl named Hinata.

    Why?

Because she was taking Takemichi from them.

Ran still remembers it like it was yesterday: seeing the adoration in the girl’s eyes as she led Takemichi by the hand to the swings where the two lovebirds spent countless hours swinging and laughing and playing and talking and, AND—

The fury that sprouted up with himself was so familiar. It was the same sensation he felt when Takemichi told him and his brother about what his parents did to him. Possessiveness.

    Dark, tense and heavy.

She was touching him everywhere like she owned Takemichi. His shoulders, arms, back, face, hair—hell—they even hugged!!! Every contact she initiated with the oblivious boy made his temperature rise higher and higher.

“She’s just a friend!!!” Takemichi reassured Ran when he had asked about his relationship with the cute girl. “They’re moving to Shibuya anyways, so I thought I’d spend as much time with her as I can before she leaves!”

The sparkly eyed boy went on to ramble about how much he’s gonna miss her, oblivious to the plan Ran was creating in his head:

Kill the girl on the day she’s scheduled to leave to make her disappear from Takemichi’s life. Forever.

Ran will admit, he actually felt a teeny bit bad for killing Hinata. She was a sweet girl, loving and kind and just the perfect person for Takemichi to be friends with, but Takemichi doesn’t need any more friends. He has the Haitani brothers and that’s more than enough.

Rindou, his sweet little brother, helped with the plan, surprisingly enthusiastic about the whole thing. Like Ran, Rindou was also quite possessive over Takemichi, but he was more clingy and obsessive than his older counterpart.

Ran always loved seeing the look of complete obsession plaster across Rindou’s face when Takemichi did something amazing or cute. The way darkness swam through his purple irises as he eyed Michi with want and desire had Ran breaking out into a psychotic smile of his own.

This smile of Ran’s returned when Rindou strangled the poor girl to death.

She clawed at his arms, tears rolled down her cheeks, and her mouth gaped open as she tried to scream for help, only for more air to escape past her open lips.

“M-Michi will…never…f-forgive…you!” She shouted before succumbing to the sweet darkness death had to offer. She fell limp in Rindou’s arms and, even after dying, he continued to torture and beat the girl till he was satisfied.

There was nothing to forgive if Michi remained oblivious, so Ran has nothing to worry about.

Michi sought comfort from the Haitani brothers, saddened that his friend had moved away , and the two brothers played their part. They coaxed the boy to sleep with stories, head scratches, and back rubs with a red blush staining their cheeks.

The boy continued to remain oblivious.

It didn’t take long for the Haitani brothers to take over Roppongi.

Their charisma attracted delinquents and people alike of all ages. They could gather countless men with just a single shout and ruled the streets with an army of delinquents following their beck and call.

And, since Takemichi was never seen without the Haitani brothers, he also got to relish in the fame that came with being the Haitani’s little puppy.

The people of Roppongi adored Takemichi. His overwhelming kindness and supportive nature won the people over in no time, which wasn’t all that surprising. The Haitanis know first hand what it’s like to be affected by those azure ocean eyes and the smile that rivaled the sun in brightness.

Of course, Takemichi also attracted unwanted attention from those that want the boy to themselves.

The Haitani brothers lost count of how many people they killed in the first year they ruled Roppongi.

Rindou still bristles up at the memory of those disgusting hands touching Takemichi, catcalling him, trying to steal him away from the brothers. It was a rough year for Rindou and his older brother, but they got through it together.

By the end of the first year, everyone knew to stay away from Takemichi if they didn’t want to magically disappear. Sure, they could look and give him gifts and engage in small talk with him, but none of them will ever, EVER have the privilege of calling him theirs.

Knowing that Takemichi will always be with them at the end of the day made it easier for them to kill , to hurt those that wished to take the sun away from their grasp.

Then, after a very long year of punishing those that tried to take their sunshine away, the brothers finally got their point across.

Takemichi belonged to the Haitanis and only the Haitanis.

    Nothing was gonna change that.

“Toman? Valhalla? Who’s that?” Takemichi asked one day while eavesdropping on the brothers" conversation.

Ran turned to face the boy who was seated in the living room, slurping a bowl of ramen on their sofa while watching some cheesy rom-com on T.V.. His blue eyes were doe eyed and wide as he waited for a response.

     Too cute…

“Just a couple of gangs who are fighting tomorrow in Shibuya,” Rindou answered the boy from the kitchen, holding a bottle of alcohol in his hand. His face was flushed, purple eyes droopy and tired as he swayed back and forth, his gaze not leaving Takemichi from afar.

Ran smirked from his spot on the barstool, curious and fascinated as he watched his younger brother make his way to Takemichi on clumsy feet.

“But they’re a bunch of nobodies!” Ran chimed in just as Rindou plopped his ass down on the sofa next to Takemichi. His arm went around the boy’s shoulders and he pulled him flush against his chest. Rindou snatched the bowl of ramen out of Takemichi’s hands and placed it on the side table, earning an adorable scowl from the younger teen.

“Hey! I’m still eating—“ he was immediately silenced by Rindou’s lips.

The kiss looked rough and messy from afar, but entrancing at the same time. Takemichi’s face turned a delicious shade of red, like a cute little cherry, as Rindou’s tongue slipped past his lips. His actions were rushed and clumsy at best, but it still managed to pull some needy whines out of the curly haired teen.

The fabric of Ran’s pants felt tight the more he listened to the pair’s wanton moans. Ran already knows first hand how soft those precious lips are, having already laid claim to them when they were young preteens. Lucious and delicious in the best way, almost bordering on addicting.

And they were the only people allowed to do this to Takemichi.

The thought alone surprised a moan out of Ran. He couldn’t be bothered to care as he continued to watch the pair from afar. Rindou’s hands were already roaming the boy’s chest, marking the skin with hickies and scratches that had the boy throwing his head back in pleasure.

“R-Rindou…what— ah— are you d-doing~?” Takemichi’s question was full of lust as he entranced the two brothers with his needy voice. His blue eyes were filled with tears, face red and flushed from the delicious touches. He knew what he was doing. He knew what effect he had on Rindou and Ran. He had to know.

Oh. He was teasing him. Teasing them.

    That had to be it.

Why else would he ask such an absurd question when he knew damn well what Rindou was doing?

“I’m just having fun~” Rindou answered in that breathless tone he uses when he’s on the verge of losing his composure.

    Ran gulped.

    Well shit.

He quickly got up and made his way to the pair.

Ran watched long enough. Now it’s time to join in on the fun.

Takemichi was unusually quiet during the whole Toman vs. Valhalla fight.

Rindou tried starting a conversation with him multiple times as the two gangs threw hands and legs at eachother like a bunch of animals, but the boy wouldn’t budge. It was getting a little frustrating watching those blue eyes follow Mikey around like a moth to a flame.

Rindou hated it. He really, really did.

The delinquent wrapped his arm around Takemichi’s waist, pulling him in close. Then, with the fierceness of a feral teenager, Rindou captured his lips in a harsh kiss.

He failed to notice the boy flinching in his arms, too entranced with how perfect his lips felt against his own.

He also failed to notice the glare he was receiving from a specific blonde haired commander.

“…Can I be a part of Tenjiku too?”

The question shocked the Haitani brothers.

Rindou, not knowing how to respond to such a question, turned to his older brother for help. Thankfully, the long haired bastard was smiling. Rindou was never good at downplaying his words or sugarcoating; that was Ran’s job. Surely his older brother will let the boy down easy, tell him it’s too dangerous for him to get involved and—

“Of course! Izana’s actually been asking to see you~”

And just like that, Rindou lost all hope in his brother.

It didn’t surprise the Haitanis in the slightest when Izana, their psychotic commander, took a liking to Takemichi Hanagaki.

All Takemichi had to do was compliment the older’s earrings and he was gone. Down for the count.

    Ran couldn’t be more proud.

Takemichi’s charms helped him reach a spot in Tenjiku’s inner circle that both Ran and Rindou are a part of. Everyone treated Takemichi with the same respect one might give to a captain.

Izana, infatuated and downright obsessed , would give Takemichi the most absurd presents. Sure, Ran doesn’t mind when people send his little puppy gifts of endearment but… lingerie?

    …Seriously?

“So? How do I look?” Takemichi asked in that nervous voice of his as he stood before Ran and Rindou wearing the latest gift he received from Izana.

Blue. The lacy fabric was nearly the same color as Takemichi’s entrancing azure irises. His pale skin was exposed to the dark lights of Ran and Rindou’s abode, adding a bit of aesthetic-ness to his small petite figure.

Takemichi’s cheeks were deliciously flushed and he kept nibbling on his bottom lip. His arms were secured tightly around his body, no doubt humiliated by the amount of skin he was showing. And oh god his figure was shaking like a frightened little lamb waiting to be eaten by the big bad wolf.

    “Absolutely Devine…

As Ran and Rindou are taking the boy apart piece by piece, he makes a reminder to himself to thank Izana for his generous gifts.

It was around the second week of helping form Tenjiku that the Haitani brothers were delivered some terrible news.

    “We lost Takemichi!”

Rindou couldn’t quite believe his ears. In fact, the only thing keeping him from strangling the disgusting Tenjiku member was the firm hold on his shoulder keeping Rindou in place.

Ran, seemingly calm and collected, asked in a voice that Rindou couldn’t even imagine speaking in under the circumstances they were currently in. “How?”

    Calm yet cold.

It reassured Rindou that Ran wasn’t completely composed during this situation. He doesn’t quite know why. Maybe it’s because Takemichi is involved? Yeah, that had to be it.

“Kakucho lost him after our fight with Toman!” Seriously? Out of everyone, Kakucho lost Takemichi?! Rindou almost wanted to laugh.

Aside from the Haitanis and Izana, Kakucho was surprisingly protective of the brothers" little puppy. He always looked after him when Rindou and Ran couldn’t and made a point to beat the shit out of anyone who might pose a threat to the blue eyed angel.

    But now he’s…gone? Missing?

“…where the hell is Kakucho?” Rindou asked in the most menacing tone he could muster. He couldn’t even manage to feel satisfaction when the Tenjiku member started shaking in his boots.

    “…with Izana …”

Rindou breathed out a sigh of relief.

He knew better than anyone that Izana wouldn’t let Kakucho’s little mess-up go unpunished. Sure, there was no telling what the commander was gonna do to Kakucho, but he needed to learn his lesson one way or the other.

“And where did you last see Takemichi?” Ran asked, tightening his hold on Rindou’s shoulder.

    “In our fight with Toman!

    He’s free.

After kissing up to those disgusting brothers, playing clueless, being quiet, being kind and adorable and acting oblivious, he’s finally where he’s supposed to be.

Away from those charismatic Haitani brothers.

Takemichi pleaded his case with Toman, begging them to take him in after all the awful things he had to endure under the Haitanis.

Mikey— strong and invincible— took him into Toman without a second thought. He welcomed him with open arms and the rest of Toman did as well. They comforted him, gave him a place to stay, and got him away from those disgusting hands that would crawl all over his skin at every waking moment.

    He was safe.

    Takemichi is finally, finally safe.

    “Takemitchy…”

Takemichi turned to face Mikey, immediately smiling at the long haired blonde. They were both seated on the stairs in front of the shrine at the dead of night; stars twinkled above them in a blinding manner and the moon shined a spotlight over the two.

“Would you…like to live with me?” Mikey asked in that soft voice he used when addressing the black haired teen. Takemichi didn’t know why he used that tone of voice for him, but he appreciated it nonetheless.

It was nice to listen to compared to the sultry and sly voices he had grown up listening to on a daily basis.

“Live? With you?” Takemichi wasn’t quite sure if he heard Mikey right. Would the blonde really be willing to share his home with a stranger like Takemichi? They barely know each other. Sure, he helped Takemichi in a moment of complete desperation and Takemichi will forever be in debt to the man for his kindness, but really? How far is Mikey willing to go for Takemichi?

Mikey inched closer to Takemichi. He slowly reached out for Takemichi’s hand and…Takemichi found himself relenting to Mikey’s touch. He wasn’t all that comfortable with touching people yet, but Takemichi could make an exception for Mikey. He owes him.

“I’ve already talked to Emma and my old man about it and they agreed with me. You’ll be safe with us—with me. I promise.”

Takemichi’s heart fluttered at the blonde’s declaration.

Things are different now. He’s not with Ran or Rindou anymore. He’s free to do whatever he wants, free to be with whoever he wants. He’s… free.

Takemichi moved closer to Mikey and placed a gentle kiss against the blonde’s cheek.

He ignored the blush that spread across Mikey’s face, remained clueless to the tight grip on his hand, and closed his eyes.

    “Thank you so much Mikey…”

Takemichi might be safe from the Haitani brothers, but he still wasn’t safe from…unwanted touches.

Mikey was known to be a bit clingy and possessive, which is something that Takemichi found endearing at first. But then it got worse.

At night, when everyone in the Sano household is asleep, Mikey would sneak into Takemichi’s room and cuddle. Takemichi found it strange at first, but he allowed the blonde to crawl under his bed sheets and wrap his strong arms around Takemichi’s figure.

Mikey wouldn’t say a word. He’d just place his forehead against the back of Takemichi’s neck and slowly go to sleep. His body was warm. Too warm. And his grip around Takemichi’s body was too uncomfortable. Too confining.

He reminded Takemichi of Rindou: the younger Haitani who’d Always cling onto Takemichi like a lifeline. He was always close to Takemichi—practically breathing down his neck at every moment of the day. His hands were a lot more bold than Mikey’s; they’d go under his shirt, explore the expanse of skin on his stomach, and travel down, down, down.

    He hated it.

But…Mikey just wanted to cuddle, right?

    That was ok.

Takemichi would eventually go to sleep in Mikey’s arms, even if he was extremely uncomfortable.

However, as time passed by, Mikey’s hands began to wander to other places during the night. Places that had Takemichi shivering in disgust and pleasure.

Then Mikey started getting vocal. He whispered dirty words into his ear, saying ‘ mine, mine, mine’ while exploring every inch of Takemichi’s skin.

    He hated it.

He hated every second of it.

But it was either this or the Haitanis.

    So he stayed.

Takemichi stayed with Mikey, endured his calloused touches, and became his cuddle buddy during the night.

Everything came crashing down when Emma died.

Mikey fell into a pit of despair. He no longer visited Takemichi at night and instead holed himself up in his room outside of the Sano residence.

Toman— everyone— fell apart at the seams.

And Takemichi? He could only watch from a distance as Mikey gave into the madness living deep inside of him.

He knew he should’ve tried to comfort the blonde—he had just lost his sister afterall—but Takemichi was scared. If Mikey was reminded of Takemichi’s existence, would he beat him? Release his frustrations out on the teen? Or would he force himself onto Takemichi in a fit of rage?

Takemichi didn’t know. He was scared. Frightened shitless.

So he stayed away. He locked the door to his room and stayed hidden.

He stayed, because anything was better than going back to the Haitanis.

As it turned out, Mikey never forgot about Takemichi.

The rapid pounding on his door was enough of an answer for Takemichi.

“Takemitchy!!! Open this door right now!!!”

Takemichi, who had been sleeping soundly in his bed, tried to stay hidden underneath the sheets. He tried to make himself disappear, curling his body into a pathetic ball, but the pounding got louder and louder.

    “OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR!!!”

Stay hidden, stay hidden, stay hidden, stay—

     BAM!!!

Takemichi flinched at the sound of the door coming off its hinges. The terrible sound of the door hitting the floor echoed throughout the Sano residence and Takemichi could do nothing but clutch onto the bed sheets above his head.

But even that was ripped away from him.

Takemichi cried and wept as Mikey dragged him out of the house. He begged for mercy, begged to be better, begged for his kindness, hell—Takemichi even offered up his body to stay—but it wasn’t enough.

    Takemichi wasn’t enough.

    Nothing will ever be enough.

“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!! SHE’S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!!!” Mikey kept shouting while manhandling him out the door.

Takemichi didn’t understand. How was he responsible for her death?!

“I-I DIDNT DO ANYTHING, I SWEAR, MIKEY PLEASE—“

“SHUT UP!!! JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU WHORE!!!”

The words shouldn’t have hurt as much as they did, but it felt like a spear was rammed into his heart. A whore? Takemichi? Is that what he is?

Is that what he’s always been?

A plaything for people to have fun with until they grow disgusted and bored?

(…but the Haitanis never grew bored of him…)

After Mikey threw Takemichi out onto the streets, the trembling teen crawled into a nearby alley and cried till the lights in his eyes disappeared.

     …What does he do now?

Will someone please tell him what to do?

Why can’t Ran just appear and give him orders? Give him something to do? Lead him in the right direction?

“Please help me…” Takemichi whispered to himself. “Please…Ran…Rindou…save me…”

    And then he passed out.

When Takemichi finally gained consciousness, he found himself in a warm bed.

It was too warm. Everything was warm. His arms, his legs, his torso, his everything.

He tried to sit up, but an arm (huh?) pulled him back against the bed. Takemichi attempted to turn his head, beyond confused, but froze upon feeling the warm chest that pressed up against his back.

    “ Where do you think you"re going~? ”

Takemichi knew that voice. He’d recognize it anywhere.

His body began to shake, trembling when Ran’s arms wrapped themselves around Takemichi’s figure. Ran chuckled and Takemichi wanted to scream when the older teenager stuffed his nose within his curly mop of hair.

“Ah, I’ve missed you so much Michi…did you miss me?” That…was a very dangerous question.

Takemichi could answer honestly: declare that he hated Ran, hated Rindou, and wanted nothing more than to see their heads on a wooden stake.

They killed his parents. They killed Hina. They killed all those people who wanted to save Takemichi. They’re monsters. They’ll always be monsters.

But then what? What would happen once those words left his lips? Would Ran get mad? Beat him senselessly like those men who laid their hands on Takemichi? Kill him? Violate him?

(But this is what he wanted. He wanted to be saved by Ran and Rindou! Be happy Takemichi, be happy! He wanted this. He loved Ran and rindou so so much!!!)

    No…No, no, no, no, no.

No, stop it brain, stop thinking and just focus on surviving!

“…yeah…” Takemichi mumbled softly. His heart immediately dropped to his stomach the second those words left his lips. “…I missed you guys a lot…”

The arms wrapped around Takemichi’s torso tightened. A shiver went down the teenager"s spine at the feeling of Ran’s breath hitting the back of his neck. He wanted to barf. Throw up. Kick and scream till his throat exploded.

Instead, he pushed back against Ran and perished in the warmth his body provided.

“Awww~ well don’t worry Michi!” Takemichi forced himself not to flinch at the pair of lips that kissed the back of his neck. “We won’t let you out of our sight ever again, ok?”

Tears began to gather in Takemichi’s eyes.

And, because Takemicho was a coward, a whore, a play thing just trying to survive, he answers back in the sweetest voice he could muster.

     “…Ok.”
