they had been living in the bunker for about six months things were great, Dean didn't have so much stress about if they would find a hotel with disabled parking (they hadn't found one yet, but the fear was still there that they wouldn't, even if they were fairly certain it was against the law not to) or that they wouldn't be accessible to Sam and Adam. Sam and Adam had their bedrooms for the first time since Adam was six months old, and they could deorate them however they like. Cas and Dean were able to have a room together. it was home and they loved the feeling of having a place where they belonged.
the one thing that Sam and Adam had wanted since they were kids is a puppy. particularly a Newfoundland. Dean had always wanted to get them a puppy, and even though they are both adults (he couldn't believe his baby brothers were 23 years and 22 years old), he still felt it was his responsibility to do stuff like that for them. he had tried to give them a great child hood after their mother died, but always felt like he couldn't give them everything they deserved.
so when they moved into the bunker, he started looking for breeders, or a shelter that had a Newfoundland. but he couldn't find anything. Dean didn't want to disappoint his brothers by getting them the wrong breed (even if he could get a breed that looked really close to a Newfoundland, he didn't want to risk them finding out and hating him forever) so he gave up. it broke his heart since he knew that Sam and Adam would have been over the moon to get a puppy.
Dean, Sam, and Adam had started watching Riverdale several hours earlier. Dean didn't really care for the show, it was too teen girl-ish for him, but Sam and Adam enjoyed it, and he'd be damned if he wouldn't sit through a god knows how long binge for his brothers. bout two hours after they started watching from the beginning, Sam passed out. and an hour after that Adam fell asleep. Dean took a photo and sent it to Cas who was out of town for the night doing a simple sault and burn. he let Cas know that he would be sleeping on the couch since it was kinda hard to carry Adam and Sam to their bedrooms, he could have just put them both into their separate wheelchairs and wheel them to their bed. but he liked being close to Sam and Adam.
it was four am when Cas snuck down the stairs into the bunker, he was honestly amazed that no one woke up when he opened the door to the bunker. he saw Dean sitting in between Sam and Adam, they were all asleep. Cas smiled and took a photo. before he got the puppy from the other room and set her on Dean's lap. he took another photo before he himself curled up in the airm chair and went to sleep.
"oh my god!" Sam practically sqeauled when he woke up to the black Newfoundland puppy licking his face. "Puppy!" Adam added. yeah, Sam and Adam still acted like two years olds sometimes. Dean woke up with that. his eyes grew wide when he saw the puppy on his lap. "Cassie, you didn't," Dean said. "but I did, I only went into Colorado," Cas said. Dean jumped off the couch and threw himself ontop of Cass. "I love you so fucking much," he muttered. "I adore you too Dean," Cass said. he was running his hand up and down Dean's back and planting gentle kisses on Deans neck.
"I promised them that I would get them a puppy someday, it killed me watching them grow up with only me and Uncle Bobby and Auntie Ellen and Uncle Bill to support them while they were adjusting... thank you Cassie," Dean rambled. but he didn't care, he was probably more happy then Sam and Adam combined, he wished Mom and Dad were there to see them that happy. "you don't have to thank me Baby, I would do anything to see you happy, and when Sam and Adam are happy, your happy, precides. their happiness is really contagious," Cass added. "I know," Dean added.
