Chapter Text
Klaus looked up, his surprised look turning to horror as he came face to face with Ben.
“H-how?” He asked, staring at Ben as he teared up. Klaus could not remember much before he was knocked out, only a scream before blacking out and that they were working with All Might again.
He could not remember who they were fighting, the nurse that had left a few minutes before Ben had showed up had to tell him the date and told him that there was an unrecognizable body found (which he knew now was Bens) but everyone else was mostly uninjured despite being knocked out.
“I don’t remember everything myself” Ben replied, “But whatever happened, whenever you and the others are let out of bed, you should ask All Might together, because if anyone knows what happened, he should.”
Klaus started crying as he asked pointlessly, “Why were we there? Why would All Might let us go into such a dangerous fight?”
Neither of them remembered that they had to convince All Might to let them help him fight.
Klaus looked towards the door, he thought he heard something.
Five was staring at them ‘Not us, me, he can’t see Ben’ Klaus reminded himself sadly, “What’s going on?” Five asks, breaking the silence.
“O-oh, nothing, just talking to myself.” Klaus answers quietly, “D-don’t say that, I know Ben’s dead, are you talking to him?” Five presses, “Y-yes? How would you know that?” Klaus asks.
“How would I forget my second favorite sibling?” Five asked, ‘Oh wait… everyone else did, why do I still remember him?’ Five thought to himself.
“Well, Nobody’s visited me, and I know most of you guys don’t really care about my ability to speak with ghosts that much but surely at least you or one of the others would at some point find a way to get into my room so they could know for sure if he was dead if they remembered? Why would nobody even attempt to come and ask if I’ve seen him? So something happened to cause them not to, and I have asked the nurse if anyone was seriously injured and sense nobody is, there is no real point for them to not have asked me, or at the very least find a way to call me if the nurses for whatever reason are not letting them visit me.” Klaus answers him.
“I guess that’s true” Five accepted, “Well, the doctors only wanted us to stay to keep us here to figure out why we were knocked out as there was no obvious answer sense we don’t have injuries besides a few scratches and whatnot.”
“Well, with that out of the way, what are the plans on what we are going to do next? You’re going to go and ask about All Might right?” Klaus wondered.
“I asked one of the nurses about it at some point yesterday, they said he was in surgery and would not wake up for a while afterwards.” Five replied, at that moment a Nurse walked in, “Oh hello! What are you doing out of your room?” she asked Five, he rolled his eyes,
“I’m not allowed to see my brother?” he said coldly, glanced at her nametag, “Jenny?”
“N-no, that’s not what I meant, I just was not expecting someone to be in here, why isn’t your father here? I have not seen him yet.” She said, not expecting such a harsh tone from a kid.
“He rarely visits us in the hospital, normally we are not here for that long so he just meets us back at home, today especially, he knows we’re not seriously injured” Five replied, ‘Nor does he particularly care in the first place besides the image he has’ he thought.
“Well I’ve just been going around and checking your siblings to make sure you guys are all okay to go home, no point in keeping you guys longer than needed, your father called us to tell us that your mom would be able to help you if you needed it.” Jenny said.
“I think we’re fine, Klaus?” Five asked,
“I feel fine too! I just want to get out of here.” Klaus replied,
“Well, you guys can stay here, I’m going to go call your father to tell him you and the others are all good to leave.” Jenny said, leaving the room.
“Are we going to stay here? Or are we going to check on the others ourselves?” Klaus asked.
“Well I already checked on the others besides Luther and Allison, they’re probably fine anyway so we might as well stay here and wait for Nurse Jenny to come back.” Five said, laying at the bottom of the bed.
The walls of Klaus’ room were sky blue and had different cartoon stickers and images on the walls (as well as a picture of the human body that a lot of doctors’ offices have) so it was a kids ward, which was understandable as they were pretty young but they were still heroes so it was awkward as heck.
Five closed his eyes, tired.
About an hour or two after they both had fallen asleep they woke up to Nurse Jenny walking in to give them the news, “Why are you so late?” Five asked tiredly before yawning.
“Sorry I woke you guys up, but your Father will be here in a bit to pick you and the others up” Jenny replied, not bothering to give him an answer.
“Whelp, I guess we have to get ready to go, where’s the bathroom though?” Klaus asked
“Oh, it’s to the right once you get to the door and down 5 doors to the left.” Jenny told him, “Okay” Klaus said, getting up and leaving, Five still laying on the bed looking at the ceiling deep in thought.
“Well I guess I’ll go check on your other sister.” Jenny said, also leaving, but before she could close the door Five called out, “Wait! The yellow haired guy I asked about yesterday, how is he?”
“Well he’s out of surgery but he won’t be able to leave for a few more days but he’s ok, he’s still sleeping though.” Jenny replied, before closing the door to go check on Allison.
“I’m here!” Klaus said a minute or two later, opening the door, a little more loudly than he should have in a hospital, but as the patients closest to them that could easily hear it were all his siblings so nobody particularly cared.
“I’ll have to talk to All Might later than I wanted to, he’s still asleep and won’t be able to leave the hospital for a few more days.” Five told Klaus,
“Okay” Klaus said, disappointed, before he brightened up “but when you go to talk with him I’m coming with you! I want to know what’s going on.”
“That’s okay I guess.” Five replied only the tiniest bit reluctantly.
They both looked up as Nurse Jenny walked back in, “Your father is here, he wants you and the others to get ready and go out to the car.”
When Five and Klaus came out of their room their mother was at the main desk signing them out allowing them to actually leave, Klaus stayed with her while Five walked out to the car and got in, the others already there.
Their father was not actually there, just their mother, so nobody was watching them.
Luther spoke up, “What’s our next mission? Any ideas?”
“Didn’t we just finish one?” Five asked rolling his eyes at the thought,
“Yeah.” Vanya said
“Why don’t we just chill for a bit rather than guess our next mission?” Allison said,
“You just want more chances to dress up with Klaus.” Luther complained.
“It’s fun! None of you guys understand how nice it is to be able to get out of this damned outfit, not even Vanya!” Allison objected,
“That’s a lie” Vanya broke in, “I like dressing up, just not all the time, but I do prefer to be ready for the next mission or practice my violin rather than spend hours dressing up like you and Klaus do.”
As they kept bickering Mom and Klaus came out of the hospital and they quieted down, the drive home was quiet besides the occasional sentence or two spoken.
