Chapter Text

3rd person’s POV
Anne blinked as she did a double take to the girl, which made Marcy confused as she looked at her.

She tried her best to seem nonchalant as she tried not to freak out, Marcy must've noticed by her concerned look.

"Um... you okay?" She asked.

Anne opened her mouth and nodded, "No yeah, I'm just— tired."

Her eyes lingered on Anne as she chuckled before looking away, and the brunette couldn't help but think about how cute her laugh was.

She assumed that Marcy wouldn't try to talk to her again, but she was surprised when she turned back to her and smiled.

"Yeah, I am too, I stayed up really late last night to play Minecraft and Life Is Strange."

Anne was a bit surprised at the girls openness but she relaxed and grinned.

"Ah, I've heard of Life Is Strange, is it any good?"

Marcy beamed as she turned to her and said, "Uh, yes! It's only like one of the best games with representation, but I won't spoil it too much, you should play it!"

Anne hummed and scooted slightly closer, but the other girl didn't notice, as the classroom chattered around them and the teacher still wasn't there.

"Well, I do have Minecraft, we should play sometime."

It went silent as Marcy stared at her and Anne gulped, realizing how eager and weird that must've sounded.

"You know I—"

"That's a great idea! I literally cannot wait,"

Anne opened her mouth to say something but the teacher had finally came in the room, which made Marcy immediately turn to the teacher, much to Anne's disappointment, but she quickly did the same.

As the lesson carried on, Anne realized they hadn't told each other their names, and it'd be suspicious to Marcy how Anne knew her name but she didn't know hers.

She quickly opened her notebook and scribbled something down, she glanced up to see that the teacher was at her desk on her laptop, so Anne quickly slid the notebook over to Marcy.

She looked up at her and sent her a confused look, but Anne just nodded towards the notebook, and Marcy quickly read it.

'I'm Anne btw, what's your name?'

Her eyes softened as she smiled, and she quickly wrote down a response before sliding it over to Anne.

'Marcy! Also you're r̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ p̶r̶e̶t̶t̶y̶, pretty cool!'

Anne squinted and tried to see the crossed out words that were squibbled on top of, but she couldn't make out the words, and instead focused on the rest.

She smiled and looked up at Marcy, who was looking forward, but her smile was clear, and Anne couldn't help but admire her for a second, but once she caught herself, she quickly shook her head and looked away.

She actually did find Marcy pretty amazing, but this was a bet after all.
