Chapter Text
Blue didn't know what had come over him, he was rarely so bold. Had he really just kissed Swordtail? He didn't know how to feel, he was hurting so much after being trapped for so long, stuck in a prison in his mind. The anguish he had felt was unquantifiable, it was impossible to begin to describe how he had felt. And now here he was, in a beautiful, wonderful rainforest, kissing Swordtail. This happiness felt like a betrayal to all the pain and sorrow he had felt. Was he even ready to be happy? All this suffering, and for what? What was any of this for. But he was happy, no matter what had happened, no matter what he thought he wanted. He felt pure unadulterated joy, holding Swordtail's claws in the sky, their limbs and tails entwined, one entity.
Blue pulled Swordtail down through the leaves, giggling as Swordtail muttered confusedly, swiping away at the leaves clinging to his face. They continued to glide downwards, stopping as the branches came to meet them, perching lightly on the trees' strong limbs. In the shade of the canopy, in the dappled light, Swordtail's orange scales seemed to glow bright, as if he had flamesilk under his skin. The oranges on his wings and forelimbs shone almost gold where the light hit him, the blues and navies of the rest of his body bathed in a beautiful light which made him look as if he was made of stained glass. Blue stared at him in awe, stared at the beautiful dragon in front of him. He sidled closer to Swordtail, whose face was starting to contort into a very funny expression, a mix of confusion and quiet joy, Blue thought.
Blue paused, then leaned towards Swordtail, placing his claws on the orange-blue dragon's face. He felt Swordtail's claws on his scales, pulling him closer. When Blue was close enough that Swordtail's snout became blurry and it appeared as though he had four eyes instead of two, Swordtail stopped.
"Did you really mean to kiss me?" He asked quietly.
