"Okay, now I see it."
"Huh? See what?" asked Reki, regarding Langa, who was eyeing both their skateboards in front of them. They sat on the curb of the sidewalk, as the sun hung above them, just outside the nearby skate park.
"That you definitely are getting better at skating."
'"Well, duh, I mean, I've always been good, Langa, I knew that ages ago!" Reki replied, a playful cockiness in his voice. "I was a pro at it way before you showed up."
Langa blinked, and then looked back at his skateboard. "Okay, but you thought that I was better at it than you for a while, didn't you?" He inferred.
Reki stilled for a moment, and then rubbed the back of his head, closing his eyes for a moment. "Well, yeah, you got me there, but I'm still learning."
He replied, and opened his eyes again, looking right at Langa.
"And you are too." Reki concluded, a smile on his face, this time more reassured.
Langa smiled back at him, his eyes bright. "Right."
Reki then grinned, and he stood up from his spot, his trusty skateboard in tow. "So, wanna see how I have gotten better?"
Langa looked up at Reki, who had his hand outstretched for him. "You bet."
Reki still had his big smile on his face as Langa took his hand and lifted himself up, carrying his own skateboard with him.
They began to walk towards the skate park, side by side, together.
