Chapter Text

Sakusa sat at the bar with his mask pulled down underneath his chin. He was working on his first beer while they waited for all their new recruits to show up. Their pledge educator Oikawa sat on his right, Iwaizumi sat in his usual spot next to Oikawa with his arm around the back of Oikawa’s chair. Sakusa noticed that those two couldn’t exist without touching in some way. Motoya was running around between the bar and the rest of the Omega Chi’s that were seated at the tables in the back of the room. It was his cousin's idea to rent out all of Shimada’s for their bid acceptance party. They were hoping that the exclusivity would give their event a more upscale feel, despite the venue being the most common gathering place for the university Greek’s. They realized quickly that a mere sign on the door wouldn’t stop some students who were accustomed to meeting at Shimada’s on bid night. Specifically, the group of Kappa Tau’s that were unapologetically taking up space at the tall round tables by the front windows.

“We shouldn’t have assumed that the Kappa Tau’s can read.” Iwaizumi rolled his eyes when a loud burst of laughter blared from the front of the bar.

“Oh my God.” Oikawa laughed under his breath. “What is that idiot doing?” He nodded toward the other side of the bar where the Kappa Tau president had come into view. Iwaizumi shook his head, annoyed but unsurprised by the antics of their rival house.

Kiyoomi wondered if the blond Miya twin had lost a bet or if he was the victim of some prank that forced him to show up to Shimada’s bar wearing only boxers and a cowboy hat. Apparently they didn’t have a ‘no shirt, no shoes, no service’ rule here. Or maybe it just didn’t apply to him since he was likely their best customer. Atsumu caught the group staring and sauntered over to the bar, waving over an employee.

“Have they not taught you Kappa Tau’s how to get dressed?” Sakusa asked, prompting a snicker from Oikawa behind him.

“Well I just figured I’d leave easy access in case yer mom comes to town.” Atsumu rested his hands on his hips, rocking slightly on the balls of his feet. He was clearly unashamed by his physique.

“Charming.” Sakusa said flatly, taking a sip of his drink and hoping nobody noticed the way his gaze lingered on the slope of Atsumu’s pecs.

Meanwhile, the four freshmen suitemates were walking to a bar downtown, as instructed by their two new fraternities. Hinata and Yamaguchi were chatting the whole way, trying to understand what exactly was going to happen at this ‘bid acceptance’ party.

“So…what should I expect as far as hazing goes?” Yamaguchi asked his two legacy friends as they walked, looking behind him to address Kageyama.

“I don’t think it’ll be too bad.” Kageyama said with a shrug, his hands stuffed in his jacket pockets.

“Did you forget Oikawa is our pledge educator?” Tsukishima laughed, rolling his eyes. Before Kageyama could respond to his snarky comment he added: “I heard that the Lambda Nu’s make all of their pledges melt blocks of ice naked.

Kageyama looked mildly horrified at the idea.

“Naked ice melting?” Hinata considered for a moment. “That’s not hazing, that’s foreplay.” He said decidedly.

Tsukishima and Tadashi both laughed while Kageyama tried to will away the blush spreading across his cheeks.

“Don’t worry. Hazing is not going to be as bad as whatever news horror story you’re thinking of.” Tsukishima explained. “You might do laundry or have to scrub a few toilets, but I think you can handle that.” He gave Tadashi a light pat on his back.

“And if you can’t, you can always quit.” Kageyama taunted his roommate that walked beside him, almost like he was issuing an unspoken challenge.

“Never.” Hinata immediately replied, so focused on Kageyama he walked right into Tsukishima’s back, not realizing they’d arrived at their destination.

Tsukki and Kageyama had their passes to the invite-only Omega Chi party out and ready. The other two pledges walked past the line and found the group of Kappa Tau’s crowded around a few tables.

Pledge pins were handed out to the new recruits- they would all have to wear them every day until the end of the year. Forgetting to wear the pin or not having it visible would make you an immediate target for hazing. Hinata got to know a few more members of his pledge class, specifically Kuroo’s best friend Kenma. He learned that the two of them have been close since elementary school, and that Kenma took a gap year to focus on his pro-gaming career. Kenma was patient enough to field all of Hinata’s questions about his job and Youtube channel and even took the time to explain his pronouns and what being non-binary meant to them. Kenma was initially worried about how the fraternity would react to their gender identity, but Kuroo insisted that this group of guys were actually incredibly welcoming, perhaps a little stupid, but not ever hateful. None of the brothers had proved Kuroo wrong so far.

Tsukishima and Kageyama sat at the square tables that were pushed together at the back of Shimada’s. Oikawa placed a binder labeled: ‘The Omega Chi Delta Bible’ in front of the pledges and told them that they would have to memorize specific details on each active brother. Kageyama looked over the binder, matching faces to names. Looking around the group, he started to notice that a few of the brothers looked…closer than brothers.

“Is like…everyone here gay?” Kageyama only meant to be heard by Tsukishima on his right, but unfortunately his voice carried further.

“No.” Sakusa answered with his deadpan tone. “But there are definitely more aggressively heterosexual fraternities if that’s what you’re looking for.” The Omega Chi president smirked, Tsukishima covered his snickering mouth.

“Motoya,” Sakusa turned to his VP and whispered. “Why haven’t we kicked them out?”

“Shimada’s not going to ask them to leave.” He answered, “Kappa Tau’s buy a lot of booze.”

“Damn it.” Sakusa’s grip tightened around his glass. So much for an exclusive evening. He looked over at the revelry that was taking place at the front of the bar and felt a flash of envy in his chest. Even though the Omega Chi’s seemed to be having a perfectly enjoyable night out, he couldn’t help thinking that this was a disappointing start to his first presidential year.

A day later, on the night before the first day of classes, each of the fraternities and sororities prepared themselves for pledge initiation- a tradition that looked different for each house on Greek row.

“Remove your blindfolds!” Atsumu’s voice boomed across the Kappa Tau backyard. Hinata slid the black fabric down his face, leaving it hanging around his neck. The pledges had been kidnapped just moments ago from their respective dorms and hauled over to their yard. They stood in various states of undress- some in full pajama sets like Inuoka and then there was poor Koganegawa who was only wearing his boxers. The group was a stark contrast to the active Kappa Tau brothers who walked through the open patio doors in full spartan costumes.

“Greetings.” Atsumu cleared his throat. “Our forefathers who art in heaven hallowed be their name brought unto this country Kappa Tau Gamma.” HA! The brothers shouted in unison, slamming a fist over their hearts- the force making a satisfying clattering sound against each of their breastplates. “Yea though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we fear nothing and neither will you. For tonight, you all become men!”

“Not in the way you’re thinking, we didn’t get hookers.” Kuroo clarified.

“Not to say we didn’t try.” Atsumu winked, pacing between the two rows of pledges. “Regardless! You have all been brought here before us to participate in a ceremonial rite of passage. It derives from a secret ritual ‘krypteia’ where a boy is sent out into the wild...” He bobbed his head in and out of the personal space of each pledge as he continued “...to live off the land and fight for his life while protecting his village. Then he returned to the village as a man.”

“Isn’t that the beginning of the movie 300?” Hinata whispered to Tadashi on his right.

“We did it first!” Atsumu whined, his head whipping around toward Hinata, breaking character for a moment. “You must stay out here until sunrise, you cannot sleep.” He ordered. “Also the spartan boys had to wear their battle clothes for 24 hours.”

“They were out there for months.” Hinata whispered again, still confused by the metaphor.
“Silence!” Atsumu shouted. Tanaka tapped Atsumu’s armor and whispered in his ear, smirking slightly when he stepped back.

“Oh,” Atsumu had returned to his normal voice. “you guys gotta do some light gardening because the weeds are getting kinda bad out here.” Noticing the disgruntled looks among the crowd of pledges, Atsumu added with the theatrics back in full effect: “And to be one with the Earth! Which they also did back then.” He clapped his hands, signaling the end of his speech. “All right we’ll see you guys in the morning when you’re men!”

On the other side of campus, Kageyama found peace and quiet at the student center. He was sitting at a table catching up on a few manga chapters when his phone started buzzing with an incoming call.

“Hello?” He answered.

“Pledge. You have minutes to get your ass to the house or suffer the consequences.” His entire body tensed when he recognized Iwaizumi’s commanding voice. Grabbing his backpack, Kageyama hauled ass across campus.

Five out of their six new pledges were standing in the front living room at the Omega Chi house. The furniture was pushed off to the side so they could all stand a few feet apart in two lines. Oikawa and Iwaizumi stood at the end of the stairs, forearms leaning against the banister, silently facing the room of pledges. The tense quiet room stirred when the front door opened, the last pledge finally arriving.

“Sorry guys, I was at the student center across campus.” Kageyama announced to the room, slightly out of breath. He took his spot in line with the rest of the pledges.

“No problem, pledge.” Oikawa smiled at the freshmen, walking around the stair railing to stand in front of the group. “I will have to ask you to drop and give me twenty, though.”

“Seriously?” Kageyama questioned.

“Seriously.” The smile had completely disappeared from Oikawa’s face. “All of you!” He shouted. “The success of one brother is success for everyone and the failure of one affects us all.” Oikawa continued his lecture while the pledges dropped to the floor and started doing their push-ups. “I am your pledge master- Brother Oikawa.” He flashed an insincere smile and grabbed a few blue books from a box that Iwaizumi had brought out. “And it is my duty to instill the ideals we honor here: self improvement, leadership, and dedication! And part of dedication is punctuality!” Oikawa preached to the group while dropping a sizable book right onto Kageyama’s back. It landed with a /\whack. “The hardcover you’ll feel dropping on your spine is the Omega Chi pledge book. You willbe tested on it.” He went down the row, slamming the books down while they finished their twenty push ups. “You know, initiation is not intended to humiliate. Its purpose is to take you from the boys you are now and challenge you to become real men.”

After finishing their push-ups, Tsukishima and Kageyama shared a look as they grabbed the blue pledge book off of their backs. Tsukishima looked like he was fighting off the urge to roll his eyes at Oikawa. Kageyama was worried he’d already gotten himself in over his head.

“Hey, good job on the weeds.” Atsumu commented as he walked out to their backyard, waking up the only pledge that hadn’t left already. “It looks great out here.” He noted the pristine flower beds that lined the back fence.

“I was the only pledge who fell asleep?” Hinata scrambled to his feet, looking around for the rest of the group. His hair was completely disheveled and decorated with pieces of grass. Atsumu discreetly picked some of the grass out of Hinata’s ginger locks as the freshman looked around, trying to find his bearings.

“Well looks like you got off easy. Usually when the first person falls asleep the pledges tend to-” Atsumu got a good look at Hinata’s face and wished he could take back the sentence he just started. “Oh!” He stifled a laugh. The pledges had drawn a dick on Hinata’s cheek with a blue marker.

“What happens, usually?” Hinata asked, rubbing his eyes.

“That person gets the most sleep.” Atsumu answered quickly.

“They dye your feet?” Hinata looked down at his bare feet- the tops had been completely colored blue, the same ink that marked his cheek.

“Nice one, guys.” Atsumu chuckled to himself , feeling some pride for the pledges they chose this year. He looked up at Hinata’s distressed face and added- “Because they care, buddy. Because they care.”

“Yeah, alright!” He smiled weakly. “See you later.”

Atsumu patted him on the back, Hinata walked out the side gate and sleepily stumbled toward campus.

After spending the night at the Omega Chi house doing some deep cleaning, Tsukishima and Kageyama were walking back to their dorms with a few of their brothers that were on their way to their first class of the new semester. They were stopped outside of a sorority house where Oikawa and Iwaizumi were being informed about some upcoming party. The pledges awkwardly stood close-by for a few minutes while their senpai discussed the house’s social calendar.

“Tobio-chan, isn’t that your roommate?” Oikawa asked, stopping his conversation to point out the dirty freshman groggily stumbling toward them.

“Oh my God.” Kageyama immediately turned around, hiding his face from Hinata, hoping his roommate wouldn’t see him.

“Hey Kageyama. Hey Tsukki.” Hinata waved weakly as he approached the group of Omega Chi’s. Tsukishima couldn’t help but laugh when he saw the drawing on Hinata’s face.

“That is some classic KT crap, man.” Iwaizumi shook his head at the blatant hazing that was evident by Hinata’s appearance.

“Oh this?” Hinata gestured down at his grimy clothes. “This was an accident. I fell down some stairs.” He shook his head, dismissing Iwaizumi’s comment and walking through the group.

“And the stairs drew a dick on your face?” Tsukishima asked with his usual amount of sarcasm, pointing at the artwork. Hinata stopped in his tracks, hands flying up to cover his cheeks.

“Yep! That’s right!!” He turned back and smiled, hands still on his face.

“Don’t worry, Chibi-chan. The first week is always the hardest because that’s when classes are the easiest.” Oikawa offered sympathetically.

“Class?” Hinata suddenly came to a realization. “What time is it?” He patted his sweatpant pockets, remembering he didn’t grab his phone before the Kappa Tau’s kidnapped him from his dorm last night.

“Uh…It’s almost nine.” Tsukishima answered, looking down at his watch.

“NINE?!” Hinata yelled. “I’m screwed.” He ran away at full speed, weaving between the other students commuting down the sidewalk and repeating: “I’m screwed!”

“His feet were blue.” Oikawa snickered. Iwaizumi shook his head and threw his arm around Oikawa, leading the group toward campus.

The first chapter meeting of the semester was about to start in the Kappa Tau living room. The pledges were sitting on the floor behind a chicken-wire fence at the front of the room. A piece of cardboard hung to the front of it with red handwritten letters that read: ‘BEWARE OF PLEDGES.’ Tanaka and Yamamoto were sporadically tossing pellets of animal feed at the freshman. The tall Russian kid was the most annoyed by it, and thus the most targeted by their attacks. Daichi kept an eye on the pledges, always keeping the level of hazing in check alongside his slightly more sadistic idea machine, co-pledge educator Sugawara.

Akaashi frantically opened the front door of the Kappa Tau house, closing it behind him. It was almost time for their meeting to start so the space was full of chatting brothers, but Akaashi paid no attention to their noise. He walked straight to the bookshelf in the living room and pulled down the door on the colorful lego box that they used to store their house mail. The brothers that were seated on the couches slowed their conversations when they noticed Akaashi’s serious demeanor. He had opened up the mailbox and started frantically rifling through the contents. They really needed to look at the mail more often.Akaashi thought as he noted names on a few letters that belonged to brothers that graduated last year.

“Has anyone seen a letter from the Dean’s office?” Akaashi asked the room after going through everything in the lego mailbox.

“What letter?” Suga asked from his usual spot on the long, fully occupied couch. The boys were so squished together during these meetings that Suga was usually sitting in Daichi’s lap.

“I just heard about it from a Lambda Sig. Apparently the new Dean is instituting some new rules for Greek students this semester.” Akaashi made his way around the living room- checking the window seat, side tables, and the fireplace mantel.

“I think I saw some mail on the bottle tank.” Tanaka remembered, pointing toward the front door.
Akaashi walked over to the fish tank in the far corner of the entryway- it was filled to the brim with different colored empty beer bottles. Resting on the corner of the tank was the very letter that had caused so much panic. Akaashi quickly tore it open and read to himself.

“Shit.” He whispered.

“What does it say?” Bokuto asked, walking up behind Akaashi to read over his shoulder.

“To the Fraternities and Sororities of OCU-

In light of the recent discoveries regarding our school's Greek system, the Dean’s office will be instituting new rules and requirements starting this fall semester. The previous GPA requirement will be raised and academic standards will now be secured by enforcing mandatory study hours for each student. Philanthropy requirements are to be increased from 10 to 20 hours per house each month. Social calendars are expected to be adjusted to make room for this requirement. Campus security will have patrols to ensure noise levels and curfews are monitored. To prevent underage drinking, events with alcohol will be limited to one keg and each house must volunteer a designated bouncer to check ID’s and stamp hands at each gathering.

Those who don’t comply may be punished with fines, probation, or if it comes to it- complete shutdown of your chapter.

Sincerely,
Ittetsu Takeda
Dean of Students”

“Whoa, what the fuck?” Terushima yelled in disbelief.

“Is this for real??” Nishinoya questioned.

“What happened last semester?” Hinata asked from the pledge pen with his hand raised.

“The Sci Phi Pi’s got caught with this for-pay cheating ring and some Zeta Beta’s got alcohol poisoning and ended up in the hospital- more than once.” Akaashi sighed.

“Basically a bunch of Greeks got expelled and made all of us look really bad.” Daichi explained.

“Shit went viral,” said Nishinoya.

“And now we also have a new Dean this year who’s probably looking for ways to prove himself and this is a fantastic opportunity.” Sugawara said, rolling his eyes. A chorus of groans rang throughout the room.

“Hey! Let’s not worry about Dean Take-douche.” Atsumu jumped out of his chair. “He’s only challenged us to become more ingenious, more innovative in our pursuit of the Kappa Tau lifestyle.” He paced back and forth in front of the couch, processing the new information.
“I don’t know about you all, but I’ve never been more motivated to throw the most ass kicking, rule bending parties this university will never see.” He smiled confidently, reminding everyone why they chose him to be their president.

“So we’ll go underground?” Kuroo asked.

“Yes.” Atsumu turned around, snapping his finger and pointing at his brother. “And below the radar…” He walked around the furniture, talking with his hands while addressing the whole room. “…and behind the barn.” He stopped behind the couch, his hands outstretched on the leather backrest, as he added, “Who’s with me?!”

The room cheered, all hopeless thoughts and fears melted away with the words of their president.

“Alright. You pledges wait outside so we can figure out big/little bro assignments, okay?” Atsumu moved the wire fence to let them out.

“Yes sir!” A few of the pledges answered as they shuffled out of the pen.

“Then we’ll all meet at Shimada’s and get this party started!” Atsumu beamed.

The Kappa Tau Gamma big/little brother tradition was to be handcuffed to your new ‘little’ for thirty minutes of forced bonding. Atsumu went first and got the unfortunate privilege of spending half of it standing on a toilet so his arm could hang down in the next stall where Hinata was trying to get rid of his stomach ache. The situation just made Atsumu laugh, and he assured Hinata that when it comes to brotherly bonding, nothing was more effective than shared toilet trauma.

After passing the handcuffs to Yaku and Lev, Atsumu decided it was time for a round of shots. He placed his order, restless fingers tapping the bartop as he waited. He nodded at the group of Omega Chi’s that were standing on his right side, noting the mop of curly black hair attached to Sakusa. He thought back to the last couple years and could only recall a handful of times where he saw him out with the rest of the Omega Chi’s.

“We saw the work you guys did on Hinata this morning.” Iwaizumi said with a disapproving tone.

“Yeah, let me ask you something, what exactly is the point of that kind of hazing?” Sakusa joined in.

“Uh, our own amusement.” Atsumu retorted.

“Oh, well you’re doing them a lot of good.” Sakusa shot a knowing look back at his brothers and took another sip of his drink.

“Well we don’t have to train our pledges, they’re already awesome.” Atsumu smirked.

“Are you implying your pledges are better than our pledges?” Sakusa set his drink down, leaning closer to Atsumu.

“Let me clarify.” He cleared his throat. “Our pledges could kick your pledges’ asses any day.” Atsumu smirked.

“Is that a challenge?”

“Yeah.”

“Really?” Sakusa raised an eyebrow.

“What kind of challenge are we talkin’ here? Who’s got the most Comme des Garcons t-shirts?” Atsumu said effeminately. “Wait, you might have us there.”

“We can kick your ass in anything.” Sakusa snarled.

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah, we could.”

“Just name a time and place, your highness.” Atsumu scoffed.

“What’s the game?”

“Beer pong.” Atsumu smiled.

“Sounds good.” A hint of a smirk passed Kiyoomi’s face. “Your yard, Friday night.”

The Kappa Tau backyard was filled to the brim, this time the air was heavy with competition instead of the usual state of debauchery. Everyone was crowded around their Ping-Pong table, a whiteboard on display to keep score of wins and losses. Some Kappa Tau’s were already drinking and snacking behind the pledges, spreading their excited anticipation for the game to begin.

“Gentleman!” Tanaka’s voice blared through a megaphone. “And…Omega Chi’s.” He lowered his voice to announce their opponent sprouting a few ‘boo’s’ from their side of the table.
“Welcome to the First Annual Kappa Tau/Omega Chi Pledge Tourney!” Tanaka continued.
“We’ve got six pledges on each side. The house with the highest number of wins…wins. Any questions?” The crowd was silent, Tanaka was about to put down the megaphone when Hinata raised his hand.

“How do you play?” Hinata asked sincerely, causing some laughter on the Omega Chi side.

“You know, we could drop one of our guys to make it an even game.” Iwaizumi said smugly, lightly tapping a ping pong ball up in the air with a paddle.

“It’s actually a great question, Shoyo-kun.” Atsumu walked over and put his arm around his little bro. “Beer Pong rules and regulations differ all over the world.” He shouted, walking over to stand on the deck to get above the crowd. “Adhering to the Japanese Beer Pong regulation association: two players square off on their respective sides, each taking a turn hitting a Ping-Pong ball across the table with the aim of making their ball land in one of the several cups of beer. If they are successful then their opponent drinks that cup of beer. The player who drinks all the cups loses. Now I personally subscribe to the notion that everybody wins in this game.” Atsumu smiled. “So let’s do it. Let the games begin!”

The pledges on each side drew numbers to find out the order they would compete in. Hinata was glad he didn’t have to go first so he could watch a few rounds to get the gist of the game. He was less than thrilled to find out that he’d be up against Kageyama. It seems the universe loved giving him opportunities to make a fool of himself in front of his roommate.

“Hinata!” Atsumu yelled. “You’re up.” He placed a Ping-Pong ball in his little bro’s hand and looked him straight in the eye. “Good luck, don’t lose.”

Hinata couldn’t believe that the cups were only filled halfway. After five turns Hinata was sure his stomach was going to explode. Why did beer have to taste so bad? Why was Kageyama so good at beer pong?

“I thought you said you’ve never played this before!” Hinata shouted, punctuating with a burp.

“I haven’t.” Kageyama swung his paddle for the sixth time, ball landing in another one of Hinata’s cups. Hinata gave him an unamused look as he took the ball out of the cup.

“Although, I have played table tennis with my Grandpa every week since I was five.” He twirled the paddle in his hand with an evil smile.

Atsumu couldn’t believe what he was seeing. That grumpy emo-looking Omega Chi pledge was incredible at beer pong. Hinata tried his best, but he was barely standing up straight by the end of their match. Another two pledges went, and the game was tied by the last round. Kanji Koganegawa was the last pledge to compete on the Kappa Tau side.

“How you feeling? You good?” Atsumu put his hands on Koganegawa's shoulders, rocking him slightly. “I want you to relax, alright?” He nodded as Atsumu continued. “Y’know, there are these moments in life when you're confronted with something that you think is monumental. But, ten, twenty years down the road, you’ll look back and laugh.” Atsumu chuckled.

“Yeah.” Koganegawa looked at Atsumu, tension leaving his body as he let out a deep breath.

“This is not one of those moments.” Atsumu’s tone shifted drastically. “This is the most important thing that could ever happen to you or any of us in this entire world…” He paused before finishing his speech with a serious “...good luck, don’t lose.” Smacking Koganegawa on the back before walking away.

“Alright! The score is tied. The winner of this game will determine which pledges rock and which pledges suck.” Tanaka shouted through the megaphone.

Atsumu stood on the deck next to Tanaka and their scoreboard, observing the game from the higher ground. Sakusa and a couple of his brothers stood on his other side, watching the game with complete sincerity.

“You ready to lose, Omi-Wan Kenobi?” Atsumu crossed his arms.

“Not planning on losing, actually.” Sakusa hummed, thinking for a moment as they watched the ping pong ball fly between their pledges. “What if we make a more elaborate bet between our houses?”

“What are you thinking?” Atsumu asked, one eyebrow raised.

“The true number one house is revealed at the end of Greek week- how about we compete for blue ribbon points?” He suggested.

“Kappa Tau’s have never cared about blue ribbon points.” Tanaka scoffed, unable to stop himself from eavesdropping.

“That explains why you come in dead last every year.” Sakusa muttered.

“I was beginning to think it was because they got off on losing.” Iwaizumi muttered, smirking at his Omega Chi brothers.

Before Atsumu could reply, Sakusa turned to his rival and said, “we start tallying up points now- whichever house wins beer pong gets five points from the losing house’s bank of blue ribbon points. Intermural is coming up, floor hockey winners get another five points. We can bet on who raises more money at the homecoming carnival.” Sakusa crossed his arms, noting the spark of competition flash in Atsumu’s golden eyes.

“Sounds like a lot of…participation,” said Tanaka, visibly cringing.

“Mostly shit we’d have to do anyway,” Kuroo added.

“Omi-Omi here knows we Kappa Tau’s don’t like participating in things and Greek week points are determined by percentage of house involvement in the activities,” said Atsumu.

“I know it’s hard getting your guys to do anything other than show up at a bar and…drink there,” said Sakusa. The other Omega Chi’s chuckled while Kuroo and Tanaka rolled their eyes.

Atsumu thought about his proposition, turning to his brothers to ask for their opinion.

“I don’t know. It seems risky, pres.” Tanaka answered, still unsure about the offer.

“Well I know this chapter would do anything to bring down the Omega Chi’s,” said Atsumu. A whooping cheer sounded from the Kappa Tau side of the yard. It looked like Koganegawa was about to secure the win for their house.

“Any citation from campus administration or security regarding the new restrictions will be minus 5 points.” Sakusa extended his right hand. “Do we have a deal?”

“I don’t know, Omi-kun. It really doesn’t sound like something the KT’s would do.”

“Fine.” Sakusa rolled his eyes, lowering his hand. “If you win we’ll give the Kappa Tau’s $1,000 from our annual party budget.”

“Okay now I’m listening. But have you considered that we don’t have a similar bottomless trust fund to pull from? What are we supposed to wager in return?”

“What about your car?” Sakusa suggested.

“My car? You have that pretentious ass Audi, what do you want my car for?”

“I don’t want your car. I just want you to not have it.”

“‘tsumu don’t bet the car, that’s mine too.” Osamu chimed in, pointing his finger at his twin from across the yard.

“Fine. If your house wins then Osamu can have my truck.”

“Deal.” Sakusa extended his right hand again, and Atsumu shook it vigorously.

“We have a bet!” Tanaka yelled through his megaphone right between the two presidents, who both winced at the volume.

The game of beer pong ended, Koganegawa didn’t miss a single shot. The Kappa Tau’s all cheered, raising their pledges up on the shoulders of the active brothers. Sakusa saw Atsumu across the yard, his smile beaming among the crowd of the boastful Kappa Tau’s. Atsumu’s eyes met his as the Omega Chi’s headed out of their backyard. A smirk passed both of their faces as they knew the competitions were only beginning.
