Chapter Text

Draco and carry had continued to kiss for a while, but they made a fatal error, they didn’t cast any kind of muting spell or silencing spell. Ron ended up walking in and seeing the two of them locked together in a passionate yet messy kiss.

Ron had absolutely freaked out, asked Harry what he was doing, asked Harry if he was under a love spell. Then, Ron dragged Harry away and Draco jogged all the way back to the library where he spent the rest of the day and night hiding in the restricted section.

The next day Pansy and Blaise found him and slammed him with questions which he answered in shame. Pansy placed her hand gently on his back and rubbed a circle with her fingers, “Oh, Draco sweety, I haven't heard any rumors thankfully.”

Draco sniffled and Blaise chimed in, “Yeah, Draco, maybe Potter cooled things off with the weasel.” That made Draco giggle a bit, he liked referring to Ron as the weasel because he came up with the nickname when his life was at a semi decent point.

Draco and Pansy had a conversation about Harry after that, Blaise listened and nodded but didn't say anything. Pansy asked a bunch of questions, like if Draco felt something for Harry, and a few questions Pansy asked to help Draco figure out his sexuality, there was also talk of what to do if news of Draco and Harry’s snogging session got around.

“Pansy, I know you’re trying to be positive, but there is no way I wouldn't even be alive and breathing if that happened.” This particular sentence had both of his friends frowning.

“Drey, don't tell me you would do something to yourself?! You wouldn't do that, right?!” Pansy looked sick almost, but Draco just shrugged, “I wouldn’t have to, ahem, Lucius Malfoy.”

Pansy and Blaise looked both relieved and disgusted, along with worried, and rightfully so. Draco was used to them worrying about him when he talked about his father like that, but his mother was really no better.

Draco pushed his plate aside, “Well, whatever the outcome, I won’t ever ever talk to Potter again unless it's unavoidable.”

Pansy was quick to retort with, “What? That's crazy talk, Draco!” Blaise frowned, “Yeah, Mate, it's pretty obvious that you fancy him. If you really like him, then you should tell him that.”

Draco rubbed his face roughly and sighed in annoyance, “Its like you two just don’t get it, I can’t tell him. Think about it, what if Potter gets mad at me or we were to break up? I’m sure word would get around to my father before that could even happen, people would notice we are acting funny.”

Pansy frowned, “You have a point, Draco. But what if you regret not telling him? What if you grow up loving him and then when you’re finally an adult he moves away and you never see him again?”

Draco squinted at her, “I’m not in love, Pans, I think you’re thinking way too hard about this one.”

Off to Draco’s right Blaise snorted, “Yeah, Pans, although Potter and Draco would make a cute couple I don’t think you’re thinking about this realistically.”

Pansy gave Blaise a look that could kill, then turned back to Draco, “My point is, Drey, maybe you do end up loving him, what happens then?”

Draco narrowed his eyes at her, “Ill figure it out when or even if that happens, and that is a massive ‘IF.’”

Pansy looked sad, and so did Blaise for a split second but he quickly cheered up, “Well, let's focus on more important things that are happening soon, like the upcoming quidditch game! Are you excited, Draco?”

Draco had almost forgotten about the upcoming quidditch game, and no, he was NOT excited, because Harry would be there of coarse, “Um, no, not really to be honest I’m actually kind of dreading it.”

Blaise rolled his eyes, “Oh? I know Potter will be there, but really?”

Draco stretched his legs, “Well if everyone does actually know about me and Potter then being in a stadium full of people is the last place on earth I would want to be.”

Pansy snorted, “Yeah, I suppose that makes sense, but try to enjoy it, OK? Sports are supposed to be fun, not stressful anyway.”

Draco frowned, he had never played a sport to enjoy it, only to one-up Harry at his fathers request. But Draco had always heard about muggle sports being fun and your team being your family, and he supposed that made logical sense.

The rest of the afternoon Draco spent hiding in that sunny corner of the library with the window, the one that Draco sat in while he tried to get through to Harry. He read a book in the window and eventually fell asleep peacefully.

In the morning Draco went back to his living quarters to get dressed and to brush his teeth and hair. After that he stopped by his classes early in the morning to pick up all his homework for the day.

Draco obediently did all his work as hours went by. Pansy and Blaise came by for breakfast and Blaise helped Draco write his essay while Pansy giggled at their struggling.

When breakfast was over and Draco’s homework was done, Draco went for yet another walk around the library, in which he came up with yet another idea that seemed great at the time, but got stupider the more he thought about it.

See, Draco had always felt bad for treating people badly under his father’s control and manipulative words. He decided while walking around the library that he should buy and send gifts to people who his father had forced him to treat nastily, starting with Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

So that's how Draco found himself wandering down to first Twillfitt and tatting’s, he had to guess Mrs. Weasley's size, but Draco pays attention to stuff like that so he had little issue picking out robes.

Once he had Mrs. Weasley’s new robes he walked his happy arse down to Flourish and Blott’s to pick up mr. Weasley a few large books on muggles. He paid then headed back to Hogwarts, but not before stopping at the last minute to buy some packaging supplies and green wax.

When Draco got back to the library during lunch time he definitely felt like he had made a mistake. If his father found out he was buying gifts for the Weasley’s he would be dead, Especially since the money he used was technically his Father’s money that Draco had received as an allowance.

He shared his doubts to Pansy and Blaise who both thought it was a lovely idea, and suggested that he politely ask in his letter that they not tell their kids (Mostly Ron or Ginny) so Draco wouldn’t get in trouble.

But after his friends helped him wrap the gifts and helped him write a Sincere letter, Draco thought it was worth it again. He sent the letter and finished off the day with a sleepover in the library with Pansy and Blaise.

For the first time in quite a while Draco actually had some fun with his friends. Pansy had some nail polish and they all painted each other's nails and read muggle mad libs Blaise stole from some ass’s locker earlier in the year.

All in all Draco was glad that night had ended the way it did.

Notes:

I have been really sick lately so I haven’t made a chap in a while, but I’m back and feeling better now!

Notes:

Hope you guys like the chapter! This fic used to be up, but only for three days, the post gathered 579 views but I thought it could be better. There were also a lot of mistakes in the tags, and the writing didn't come out how I wanted it to at first so I'm glad this version came out so much better <3
