Chapter Text
DID YALL THINK I WAS JOKING WHEN I SAID IN THE FIRST CHAPTER NOTES THAT THERE WOULD BE A LIT CITED
BECAUSE
I WAS NOT
Below is exactly what i said there would be fjkdls - A Lit Cited. it is lazily done, and the dates are wrong, but whatever, no one does lit cited for fanfic im just a weirdo XD
Alas this is not a complete list (because i opened a bunch of tabs on my phone and also Firefox died on me and closed out like 20 tabs WAILS) but its pretty good fjdksla. I went back and got most of the Firefox stuff but yall I am not getting those phone citations and random google searches I don’t hate myself that much lmao
Consider this the run-down of resources for preemie fics!!! Although I will admit that some MAY be behind paywalls (that I was only able to access because Higher Education Hurrah). Also this is not gonna be a perfect lit cited but also this is fucking fan fiction no one expected this anyway lmao
There is a bonus at the end for those who actually take the time to bear witness to my pain take a gander at all the sources i looked at lmao
LIT CITED the very short version
Raising Children Network - BELOVED i used this website so much
Hand to Hold - a very helpful website for parent’s experience in the NICU!
Very Well Family - very good website to breakdown both parents experience and medical experience!
Tommy’s - kind of general, but still helpful!
UpToDate - very helpful for in depth (very in depth lol) medical stuff. Might be paywalled tho
BloomingLittles - ALSO BELOVED very easy to understand articles for parents about more specific medical experiences
LIT CITED the long version

THE BONUS - Reeses' Baby
“I’m surprised you decided to come,” Toshinori said, looking down at his old teacher out of the corner of his eye, “I thought you wanted nothing to do with him. Or me, after….you know….”
Gran grunted. “You can’t keep me away forever, Toshinori.”
Toshinori smiled slightly, “I suppose not. But that still doesn’t answer the first question.”
Gran said nothing for a while.
There was a beep as Toshinori unlocked the main gate to the Tartarus Jr. ‘Estate’. They walked in, Gran’s cane thunking against the sidewalk leading up to the house.
“How old did you say the kid was?” Gran asked.
“He’s technically two, but a little more like 1 and a half,” Toshinori said.
Gran grinned up at him, an evil glint in his eye, “you ever heard of the terrible twos?”
Toshinori blinked blankly.
Gran barked a laugh, “You will soon! Nana’s kid was a nightmare when he was two!”
Toshinori smiled, even as his heart twinged at the mention of his mentor, “Oh? How so?”
“‘I’m painting,’ he says,” Gran snorted, “Meanwhile he has diaper cream all over his hair, his face, his clothes, and the wall.”
Toshinori choked, “Oh no,”
“Oh no is right!” Gran said, “I swear, getting that diaper cream out of the was harder than fightin’ some villains,”
Toshinori snorted, a hand coming up to his face. “Alright, I get your reasoning now Gran.”
Gran cackled and Toshinori rang the bell. Something thunked behind the door, then there was silence. The silence stretched.
“He comin’?” Gran grumbled.
“Give him a minute,” Toshinori said simply.
Footsteps came from behind the door - both heavy and light. A deep voice spoke while a young voice laughed uncontrollably. The deep voice rose in surprise. The laughter intensified. Footsteps thundered as a small chase took place behind the door.
Gran snickered.
Finally, the heavy footsteps approached and All for One opened the door.
And he was holding a baby covered in a mixture of peanut butter and chocolate sauce.
It was in Izuku’s hair. It was all over his face. It was on his chest, his belly, his arms. There was even some on his feet, somehow.
All for One glared at them. There was peanut butter and chocolate sauce on his shirt and all over his arms.
Gran burst out laughing while Toshinori snickered uncontrollably.
Izuku giggled as well, wiggling in his father’s grip. One tiny hand reached up and slapped a blob of the mixture onto All for One’s face.
All for One sighed, “you just love to see me suffer, don’t you?”
“Yup!” Toshinori said cheerfully.
Gran was too busy wheezing to have a comment.
“I left him alone for five minutes! ” All for One lamented.
