Work Text:
Taehyung and Jimin seemed to be the perfect couple. They met through their parents who were business partners. The pair of parents had seen the opportunity to introduce them to each other and join companies. To Jimin, Taehyung was perfect. He was compassionate and kind, and he really had a way with words. His smile was like the sun, bright and sweet with the way It put butterflies in Jimin's stomach.
—---------------------------
Jimin found himself falling in love with the older man almost instantly, and Taehyung…Taehyung loved the idea of Jimin belonging to him, a feeling he translated into love. Over time he lost himself. He let his true colors show.
During the first weeks of their engagement Taehyung was caring and compassionate. He Complimented Jimin often and showered him with gifts. Whenever Jimin got new clothes or when he dyed his hair, Taehyung was the first to let the small man know that he was lovely.
Taehyung would often declare that he would have done anything for Jimin, and when people asked he would say that he loved him with everything he had. It was all a ploy, the way he told his fancy business partners that Jimin was his rock, that he kept his feet on the ground, and made him feel loved, a ruse if you will, the way he told his parents that he and jimin were going to be so happy together once the got married. In all truth, being with Jimin gave Taehyung a sense of control that he never had before.
—-----------------------------
Taehyng’s Parents were wrong to even bring up marriage plans and deals to the park family.
They knew how their son was and yet they made the deal. It was in fact, all their fault for the way Taehyung turned out. They raised him with no affection. When he was little his fathers first solution was a beating or extreme punishments, and his mother was weak, she let her husband do what he wanted, in fear of being beaten herself. He never said a thing and whenever she saw her husband in a mood she would leave the house, and get drunk while Taehyung’s father took his anger out on him. It only got worse when they found out Taehyung was gay.
His did what he does best and tried to beat it out of him. They used taehyung until he only had anger left. Taehyung didn’t feel like he was a person . In turn of the abuse by his parents, Taehyung began hurting himself and behaving violently (he just wanted to feel real, he wanted to feel something other than anger and betrayal ). His parents, of course, knew of the boys' behavioral issues. They refused to acknowledge it was their fault. When one day, things took a turn for the worst, they tried to get rid of him but couldn’t. They couldn't afford another child turning into such a disappointment, so Instead of getting rid of him, they married him off. Made him someone else’s problem, while also making their company larger. When they introduced Teahyung and Jimin to each other, something in Taehyung’s brain clicked. Jimin was so small and timid. Taehyung felt a sort power surge over him. He felt in control for once.
—--------------------
When they moved in together, Tahyung found himself irritated to no end. Jimin was so open and obvious about everything while Taehyung had to censor his emotions. “Why does this...this little bitch get to be free and I can’t” he would think to himself. He wanted to hurt the boy, make him cry, but he also realized he needed him. Jimin was a people pleaser and easy to manipulate. For the first time Taehyung felt in control, and he wanted, no, needed to keep that feeling.
—-------------------------------
The abuse started out small. Taehyung would insult him or get in jimin's face, but he would always apologize afterwards. Did he mean it...no but it kept Jimin from leaving. It only got worse from there. Taehyung would get paranoid whenever Jimin left for work in the morning, and he always accused him of cheating, and eventually forced Jimin to quit.
“You wanna look like a little bitch, then you can stay at home and take care of me like one.” Taehyung would say (only because Jimin dressed in light pastel colors, and liked to wear more effeminate items of clothing. But, Taehyung said he liked it, that it made him look pretty. That, of course, was a lie(Taehyung never told Jimi how he really felt). One time he got so angry he destroyed Jimin’s phone right in front of him and eventually forced him to cut ties with all of his friends, even their closest ones. Their arguments became more frequent, and Taehyung started to yell at the small boy for no reason. He called him horrible names and more often than not forced himself on Jimin. He would manhandle the younger man around and dragged him around the house by his hair. After it all, he would apologize and Jimin would melt right back into the same pattern again. Jimn thought it would get better, he thought he could help Teayhyung so he stayed every time begged and apologized because Jimin loved him.
—-------------------
It only ever got worse and Taehyung started to hit him. The first time he physically abused and forced himself on Jimin was a couple weeks into their engagement. The younger man tried to stand up for himself, he wanted to leave the house, he wanted to leave Taehyung . In a fit of rage, Taehyung slapped him hard enough for his head to snap to the side. He then proceeded to grab him by the hair and led him kicking and screaming to “their” bedroom. Afterwards, Jimin felt disgusted and cried for hours before he sluggishly pulled himself to the bathroom. He would scrub himself till his skin was pink and stare at his bruised cheek, then cry some more.
It was days later when it would happen again.
—---------------------
Taehyung came home angry. Jimin didn’t know why but he could tell because the older man was completely silent the whole time he was eating dinner. Jimin was petrified, good things never happened when Taehyung wasn’t speaking. All of a sudden he stood from his seat, knocking his chair backward. He stood over Jimin and grabbed him by the back of his neck and forced him over the table. Jimin had never wanted to die more in his life.
—--------------------
It all changed when after months of unprotected assault Jimin turned out to be pregnant. He had been throwing up and gaining weight (only a little but Taehyung still made him feel like shit for it). He only had an idea, he couldn’t really prove it. He couldn’t leave the house to buy a test, so he just tried to ignore it. He tried to will the growing fear away. He didn’t want to have Taehyung’s child. He wanted a stable family, this was not a place to raise a baby, he was scared, what would he do. He didn't know, but he couldn’t tell Tae.
What could he do?
—----------------------
Nothing got past Taehyung. He had noticed the weight gain and morning sickness. He felt sick. The little bitch was pregnant. To prove it he bought a test on the way home.
When he got home he forced jimn to take the test and almost burst a blood vessel from the anger he felt. The test was positive. Jimin was Taehyung's, he wouldn't share the smaller with anyone, not even their child. He ended up beating the poor boy within an inch of his life, then to take the edge off, he went to go drink.
—---------------------------
Jimin was motionless. His tears were long gone and dry. His skin was bruised and blue. He couldn't see from one eye. His limbs felt heavy, and blood dripped from his thighs to the puddle collected under his legs. He was done, emotionally drained. Taehyung killed their baby. Just like that. It was in those most desperate moments Jimin realized Taehyung would kill him in time. He didn’t want to give him the satisfaction.
—-------------------------------
Jimin used the counter to pick himself up. He grabbed the closest heavy item and stumbled down the hall to the only unbarred window. He took a step back and hurdled the heavy decorative rock, it only cracked the window a little at a time, but that didn't deter him from repeatedly throwing it till he broke a sizable hole (one he could fit through).
He had glass in his feet and hands by the time he climbed and stood in the high window. His heart was pounding fast and hard in his chest as he looked down. They lived on the 14th floor, miles away from solid ground. He stood there for hours taking in the tiny ant like people and the blue sky. It was a nice day, the sun warm and sweet on his bruised skin.
Slowly he came to terms, and it felt like the world stopped as he felt peace in his heart for the first time in months. He didn't know how long he sat up there before he climbed down. He sat under the window aimlessly for a bit, and finally came to a decision. He ran all around the apartment collecting things that he could use and stuffing them in his small duck bag.
He collected his documents that Taehyung had taken from him and the secret money he stashed away behind a painting, and suddenly came to a halt at the front door. He knew he had no time to hesitate but he couldn't help it. He was about to risk it all. When he finally did get himself together, he took a deep breath, opened the door, and never looked back.
