This is book 1 of a series. I don't currently plan on recording the other books, but feedback on this one has been heartening. I'm glad to be able to provide that extra bit of service to readers that can't necessarily deal with the written stuff.
We're renovating the house, and a different recording setup is on my mind, so I think some part of me is contemplating how to continue the hobby despite this project coming to a close :)
Finding quiet time to record has been troublesome with things like people mowing lawns, motorcycles in the neighborhood, and then living both close to a major highway and a few airports. some of my recording sessions were like "talk talk talk ... (pause) plane. (long pause) man i hope that isn't audible anymore. talk talk talk." :C I'm hoping a new setup will reduce those problems, but this is still just a hobby. I might trim out some really ridiculous takes from the process and post them here lol
Also, thanks so much for the reception on this podfic! For a long time, I wished people would record audiobook versions of my fave fics (because text-to-voice was and still is mostly terrible).
this is one of those circumstances where if you want something, do it yourself. I love reading my story (because I wrote it mostly for my own enjoyment lolll) and this is just next step: I can have my fic-fix whenever, and now you can, too!
