Taken

Summary:

Izuku didn't realize that a slip of the tongue would lead to two of his friends playing detective for two different reasons. His disfunctional social life definitely didn't need the added stress.

Work Text:

It was a quiet day for class 1-A. Now, if you were to ask their teacher, Shouta Aizawa, that wasn’t a good thing. That was a suspicious thing. A very suspicious thing.

He wasn’t wrong of course. A group of students sat in the lobby, studying. They were Hitoshi Shinso, Tenya Iida, Shoto Todoroki, Koji Kouda, Ochako Uraraka, and Izuku Midoriya. Suddenly, a shirtless Kirishima ran into the room and placed a hand on Izuku’s shoulder.

“Midoribro, I need you.”

The green haired boy’s face turned red.

“Oh! Um. Kirishima. Look, I’m flattered but very taken.”

“What?” Kirishima looked confused until he realized what he said, and his face matched his hair. “N-no! Not that! Er, Kaminari got stuck behind the fridge again and we need to get him out. I’m also a little worried that Mina, Sero, and Bakubro will die from asphyxiation if they don’t stop laughing soon.”

“Oh! I can do that!”

Midoriya exclaimed before running off with Kirishima to help. The others watched.

“Did I just hear Midoriya say that he was taken?”

Shinso asked and Uraraka let out a strained laugh, clearly not a fan of the idea.

“Haha. I’m sure Deku-kun was just joking. There is no way that he would get a girlfriend and not tell us, right?"

“Or boyfriend.”

Iida chimed in.

“He’s straight. Todoroki and I already tried, remember?”

Shinso said with a frown.

“Apologies. I was just trying to be inclusive.”

Iida replied, chopping his arm.

The group ignored the cries of “FREEDOM!” from the kitchen, followed by the sound of the fridge being put back down and scooted back into place.

“Isn’t Midoriya going out this weekend?”

Shinso asked.

“Yes. He said he was going to visit his mother like he does every weekend.”

Iida confirmed.

“Oh? Are we sure that’s what he’s doing?”

Shinso smirked, raising an eye.

“Maybe he’s off to visit someone else. Like to do some father/son bonding time with All Might.”

Todoroki suggested.

‘I’m actually going out too for a similar reason.’

Kouda signed, taking attention away from the conversation as everyone ignored Todoroki’s jab at Izuku’s parentage yet again.

“Oh? Now that I think about it, you have also been leaving every weekend too, Kouda.”

Iida commented in thought before speaking again.

“I suppose it’s only natural that a lot of us leave to visit our families. Tsuyu does the same as well to help care for her siblings.”

“Hey guys. What are we talking about?”

Kaminari interrupted, hopping onto the couch as the rest of the Bakusquad and Midoriya himself came back.

“We were just reflecting that a lot of people seem to leave on the weekends.”

Iida replied, hiding the fact that they were once again talking about his green friend’s suspected dating life, hoping that Mina and Uraraka wouldn’t grab hold of it again like last time.

“Oh yeah. I’m actually going out as well. Probably won’t stay the night out there but there’s a movie I wanted to watch.”

Sero commented. Mina nodded, thinking of her own plans.

“Hagakure and I were going to go to the mall again too.”

“Careful Mina. You might give Midoriya PTSD.”

Kaminari teased as the boy in question turned red, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.

“Psh. Don’t worry Midori. What’s the odds of you getting attacked by villains a sixth time at the mall?”

Mina winked at the boy and the group laughed. Iida stood up, chopping his arms.

“Everyone, this is no laughing matter. You all must be careful out there. The League of Villains may have been inactive for a while, but they are still very dangerous individuals.”

-That Weekend at the Midoriya Household-

“Tomura. Put down the body pillow, stop crying, and join the game.”

Izuku said, looking at the white-haired leader of the League of Villains as he cried into the body pillow of his “waifu”.

“No!” The man-child sobbed. “None of you get Shoko-tan! Her mother, the number two idol, is forcing her to become an idol that surpasses the number one idol, but Shoko-tan refuses to use her mother’s idol fire powers and instead relies on her father’s idol ice powers!”

Dabi choked on his soda.

“Be that as it may,” Izuku said, trying to keep his own reaction to the familiar backstory quiet. “We only get to do this once a week and I’d rather you not do this a second week in a row.”

Izuku sat at a four-corner table with a deck of cards in the center and four stacks of playing chips. Himiko sat by his side, leaning against him, her arms wrapped around him. Himiko never played with them. She just liked snuggling with Izuku and he appreciated his girlfriend for that.

“If you and Himiko can make out for an hour then Shigaraki can cry into his body pillow for a bit.”

Spinner said, sitting at a different side of the table next to his boyfriend.

“Please, like you two aren’t making out the entire time Izu-kun and I are.”

Himiko fired back, causing the lizard man and his quiet boyfriend to blush.

“Look, should we get started now or wait till Crusty stops crying because honestly, I am getting even more uncomfortable now.”

Dabi said at the third side of the square table, the fourth reserved for the crying man-child in question. Usually it was just Izuku, Spinner, Dabi, and Shigaraki playing poker while Izuku and Spinner’s respective partners just cuddled with them. Unfortunately, they usually also had to deal with Shigaraki’s drama of the week which usually involved him crying over his Shoko-tan merch.

Meanwhile, Mr. Compress was playing a card game with Twice. Izuku wasn't sure what card game they were paying as the cloner currently had three uno cards, a Duel Monsters card, and a “Get out of jail free” card in his hand. Mr. Compress meanwhile had two Pokémon cards, a business card, a baseball card, and a joker playing card. Again, Izuku wasn’t sure what was going on over there, but he let them have their fun.

“I hope everyone is having a good time.”

Inko Midoriya said, walking in to see her son’s friends.

“Yes Ms. Midoriya.”

Most of them said with the exception of Shigaraki’s muffled “M’fine” from his body pillow and Mr. Compress who held up a marble.

“We are doing great, and I have to say, you are looking quite lovely today Inko-san.”

He said, the marble turning into a bouquet of flowers.

“Oh my. Quite the charmer, aren’t you Sako-san.”

Inko said, the plump woman blushing.

“Please Inko-san.” Mr. Compress said with a charming smile. “I tell you every time to call me Atsuhiro.”

“Alright Atsuhiro-san. Thank you for the lovely flowers. Kurogiri-san, would you be a dear and put these in a vase.”

She said, handing the flowers to the shadowy butler.

“Of course, Inko-san. I will put them right next to the vase of flowers I got you.”

He said, using a portal to put the flowers next to another vase full of flowers. Izuku also noticed Kurogiri making another portal to discretely pour bleach into the water of Mr. Compress’s vase so his flowers would die faster. No one else seemed to notice as Inko continued to address the room.

“I came to tell you all that the Pizza Rolls will be ready soon. You all keep having fun.”

“PIZZA ROLLS!”

The villains cheered at his mother’s announcement. The woman laughed at their enthusiasm before moving back into the kitchen to the awaiting butler. Izuku’s smile dropped and he turned to the magician.

“You two really need to stop hitting on my mom. It’s hard enough to stop All Might from doing it and I keep having to call out Vlad-sensei when he tries to create an excuse to come see her.”

The man laughed and waved it off.

“Come now my boy. I guarantee I have the purest of intentions for-.”

They were cut off by a knock on the door and everyone froze. Izuku creeped over to the peep hole and peaked outside. He quickly ran back.

“It’s Uraraka! Hide!”

The villains all dove into action. Dabi dragged Shigaraki and his Shoko-tan body pillow behind the couch. Spinner and his boyfriend quickly hid in a closet. Mr. Compress covered himself in a sheet and when it fell, he was gone. Izuku had to admit to being impressed by that. Himiko did her usual stealth thing while Kurogiri portaled away to another room. Izuku would have to double check that he did not go to his mother’s room or he might actually hurt the mist man. Finally, Twice placed a lamp shade over his head. It would have to do. Izuku did his best to calm his nerves and tried to bring out his best smile. He opened the door to see his best friend.

“Hey there Uraraka. What can I do for you? Also, why is Todoroki wearing a fake mustache, trench coat, hat, and sunglasses.”

“I am not this Todoroki you speak of. I am… Shodoroki. May I speak to your father, All Might?”

“All Might isn’t my dad, Todoroki. My birth father ran out when I was young and I WON’T BE GETTING ANOTHER FATHER FOR A VERY VERY LONG TIME.”

He said, raising his voice for any hypothetical magicians or butlers to hear.

“I told you, my name is Shodoroki. I don’t know this Todoroki fellow you speak of, but he sounds like someone who has a terrible father.”

“Todoroki. If you are going to get a fake mustache, don’t get one that matches your hair.”

Izuku deadpanned.

“Don’t worry about him Deku-kun.”

Uraraka interrupted, looking annoyed at the dual quirk user.

“Todoroki and I were heading back to UA after joining Mina’s shopping trip and wanted to swing by and see how you were doing.”

Izuku turned his attention back to the brunette.

“Oh, everything is fine. Just, Mom and I are spending some time together. She gets lonely with me at school for most of the time, you know?”

“Izuku? Baby? Is there someone at the door?”

Inko called out. She was probably listening in.

“Yes Mom. It’s Uraraka and Todoroki. Some of my friends from UA that I told you about.”

He called back, hoping his Mom would help him out.

“I remember them. Such sweet dears. Sorry to rush you along, but I need help finishing dinner.”

Izuku internally sighed in relief as she gave him an out. He sent an apologetic smile to his two friends.

“Sorry guys. I have to go.”

Uraraka seemed glum.

“Alright. Maybe we can hang out another time.”

Izuku gave her a smile.

“You two are some of my closest friends. Just let me know what you want to do, and we can figure out when to do another time. Stay safe getting back to UA.”

Uraraka smiled.

“Sure thing Deku.”

Izuku turned to leave but froze as she spoke again.

“Wait a minute, Deku. Is that another hickey?”

“GottagoUrarakagoodnight!”

Izuku quickly said, closing his door.

-Meanwhile: In the Midoriya Closet-

Koji Kouda hid in the closet with his boyfriend, enjoying the feeling of Shuichi’s scaley arms wrapped around him. Uraraka and Todoroki showing up was a bit too close for his comfort, but he wouldn’t complain about getting more alone time with the purple haired boy. He had been surprised when his boyfriend brought him to their poker night a month ago where he ran into an equally surprise Midoriya who was dating Toga of all people.

Well that solved the hickey mystery from a while ago. He was lucky that Shuichi was a lot more discrete in where he left his marks.

He sighed in relief as he heard the door close, and his boyfriend also let out a sigh. They stayed like that a bit longer, neither of them wanting to move, even as they heard the other villains shuffling out of their own hiding spots. Koji nuzzled into his boyfriend’s strong chest.

“Ko?”

Koji heard his name get called.

‘Let’s stay here a bit longer, Shu-kun.’

He traced on the lizard villain’s chest. Shuichi looked down at him questioningly and Koji smirked bashfully up at him. Shigaraki was still probably too occupied by his “waifu” and knowing Toga, she was going to jump Midoriya again after seeing him talking with Uraraka. She was clingy like that, but at least Midoriya seemed to enjoy it. So, if everyone else would still be busy, what harm was there in spending a bit more time with his boyfriend before going to rejoin their mixed group of friends?

Now if only they could get Iida to come clean about exchanging romantic letters with Kaina Tsutsumi.

Notes:

This was one of those moments where I was hit by a lot of inspiration at once. The body pillow joke is something I wanted to make since the first story. Same with the taken one.

I hope you all enjoyed it!
