Chapter Text

This fic has finally been completed, and what an epic milestone it is! Now- please don’t click off immediately- there are a few announcements that I have to make!

Announcements:

Although this particular fanfiction is over, the story is far from its conclusion. There are still strings that have not been tied together, from our kingdom’s cookies in the Creme Republic to Pomegranate’s interactions in the future to the cursed weapons and the Pastry Order.

Lily Flower- or the DaisyVerse, as I’m calling it, had always been written to be a two-parter. I had created a couple of other CRK one/two-shots that take place in the same universe and will give some context that is not necessary but may increase your enjoyment of the series, but ultimately, it is these two (and a half?) books that make the story.

As of now, the next fic will be an interlude between book one, which you have read, and book two, Shells and Ivory. It will simply be titled Lily Flower: Interlude and contain three chapters, each pertaining to one of the remaining ancients. We’ll be able to see how the other cookies of darkness are doing, yay! Their endings in this fic may not seem all that great but that is only because I didn’t want to move their timeline too far ahead from what was going on with PV/DE/Pom. I am a sucker for happy resolutions, so you’ll be getting them soon enough. After everything these poor characters have been through, a little happiness will be nice.

Now, as for Shells and Ivory, I’ll give you all a sneak peek into what is to come. We’ll be venturing into the Republic and all its horrors. Herb is a Fucking Cannibal can give a small piece of insight into just what we’ll be covering, but so much more happens. For example:

{Cult Activities}
{Multiple murders}
{Pure Vanilla gets called Father in both the paternal and religious way}
{More women, yay!}
{Political intrigue and conspiracy}
{A mature rating, which all of Lily Flower wasn’t enough to make me use. Make of that what you will.}
{And more…}

All of this is a bid to convince you to stick around and read the next book. Your viewership is important to me; It is a privilege to have someone see and enjoy one’s work. I want to say that I am incredibly grateful to everyone who decided to stick around. To those who viewed my story, to those who commented, who gave kudos- I want you all to know how much I appreciate the gesture. It truly means so much. Every bit of support has helped me with the motivation to grind out these chapters, as steady and slow as it has been. Thank you so much! :D

Now, for the fun and optional stuff!

Firstly, I made an animatic of this fic! It’s not great since it's my first attempt at a full animatic, but I am proud of it nevertheless. I know some people have already seen it (thank you again for the fanart, Lobstersock!), but give it a glance, maybe it will be entertaining! Or clown on me, that's fine too lol.

Bloopers:

Though most of this fic had been planned out from early on, there are some changes. Here was what was in the original drafts!

1. Licorice dies.
In front of Poison Mushroom, too. This was originally supposed to occur after the COD had been enlightened about their master’s cannibalism, and be the final nail in the coffin that drove all the other members away. I eventually changed that because of Licorice’s background with the Creme Republic, which can give us some fun interactions.

2. DE originally bit off Pure Vanilla’s shoulder, rather than his fingers.
I decided against this because it was too sudden and animalistic, in its way. Too greedy. I wanted to make the scene painfully intimate and deliberate to highlight just how wrong it was. Biting off his shoulder was too extreme, and it would be harder to show an escalation from that point.

3. Red Velvet kidnapping PV
Not originally a part of the plan, but I had sequestered it in because his character felt like it did too rapid of a face-turn to leave his mother without going through some sort of contemplation. Plus, trying to keep the peace between PV and DE by taking matters into his own hands suited the general.

Clarifications:

The last remaining lily flower in the royal gardens was never real. It was something that Pure Vanilla alone could see, a manifestation of his vow that existed in his mind alone.

The sacrifice spell turns something close to a soul into something like a soul. Hence, the only reason that the Strawberry Jam sword worked was because Dark Choco (artificially) valued the sword over his life.

The sunflower staff was made from Pure Vanilla’s deceased mother’s necklace.

Headcanons:

Magic:

Everyone has some innate magic, which is put into different parts of themselves. Cookies can be classified in three ways- Physical (Dark Choco/Red Velvet), Magical(Pure Vanilla/Licorice), Specialized(Poison Mushroom/Strawberry Crepe), or more than one of the above. (Pom is magic/special, and DE is magic/physical). Their innate magic is used to make them stronger and make their magic more powerful. For specials, it can be as concrete as having a pair of wings to fly indefinitely to something as ephemeral as having good luck.

Magical spells are usually cast with a physical circle on sigils/ drawn onto a surface. Extremely skilled magic users can use magic without drawing because they can channel their magic to force the circles to exist within the fabric of space.

A couple of people do not have innate magic. This is a negative genetic mutation that can be caused by near-death experiences, genetically undesirable things, or other factors that can completely screw over one's health.

There is also no evil magic in dark and dark moon magic. There is only more dangerous magic. Unfortunately, the kinds of people who would risk using dangerous spells tend to skew on the more unhinged or unstable side, so dark magic has gained a very negative association over the years, and eventually, sorcerers who dabble became considered evil.

The kingdoms:

The former Vanilla kingdom was the smallest of the kingdoms by land size but had the most advanced technology. Thanks to their prime location in the plains, they don’t lack anything and were therefore given the chance to flourish. They mainly trade with the Golden Cheese kingdom, by taking routes through the Hollyberry kingdom and across the small sea. They are the most peaceful of the kingdoms and lack a standing army.

The Hollyberry kingdom wraps around the sea and borders the series of islands where Mango cookie resides. They are very humid and contain dense rainforests as opposed to the regular forests of the Vanilla territories. There is an excess of food, to the point where berries would float down the waterways and they don’t even have farmers, but rather gatherers. They mainly trade with the Dark Cacao kingdom.

The Dark Cacao kingdom takes up a long stretch on a high mountain range. They are most well-known for their powerful military, and their main exports are warriors to the Hollyberry kingdom to protect their large aristocracy and unique furs to the other two. Harsh winters and Desolate land devastates the kingdom, and the people are often rough and long-suffering. They have slowly been vacated over the years, but contain their unique and beautiful culture/religion.

The Golden Cheese kingdom is the largest of all the kingdoms, spanning a massive area of the desert. They are luxury incarnate and mainly export fine goods in exchange for natural minerals and gold. I predicted that this kingdom would be advanced and Golden Cheese’s general personality, and was so incredibly smug about being right about it that I bragged to my friends lmao. LF was written far before it came out and I did not have to change one thing about my darling Golden Cheese.

Pure Vanilla and White Lily:

Ooh, where do I start? They are mirror foils of each other, selflessness and selfishness to the point where they hurt themselves and each other. Both of them performed that unethical experimentation, were tortured by their long-livedness, ran away to try and find a reason for existence. Both had their struggles with loneliness and perfection. It is due to their personalities and actions, as well as some outside influences, that diverge them. White Lily grew afraid of being alone forever and Pure Vanilla grew weary of putting others' health and happiness above himself.

A big example of this is when White Lily dies in that witch’s pot, she had wished the Pure Vanilla would die with her. Pure Vanilla, throughout the fic, has shunned the responsibility of being king because he associates it with years of self-sacrifice.

The end!

If there is anything within the fic that you want to ask or speculate about in the comments, or if you just want to say something in general, feel free! I’ll answer any questions and clear up any confusion that I have caused. Lord knows that I tried my damnest to pack metaphors into this beast lmao.

Alright, I’ve rambled on long enough. Until next time, my dear readers!

Phosphell, signing off :>
