Chapter Text
Sirius sighed and settled further against Remus' chest in their early morning, half-asleep, haziness; appreciating the way the brunette's arms tightened around their shoulders. Neither of them had moved an inch the entire night, both enjoying the closeness that came with sleeping next to someone else.
They stayed where they were for another few moments, neither acknowledging the other in any way, before Remus made the executive decision to actually get up. He slowly removed his arm from around Sirius, replacing it with a soft kiss to their forehead, before making his way to the bathroom. He twisted the shower to warm and brushed his teeth quickly, while the water heated up. He didn't take long once he was actually in the shower, quickly lathering himself up and rinsing off before stepping out and settling a towel low around his hips. He was in the middle of messing with his hair when he felt a body press up against his back, catching a pair of grey eyes in the mirror over his shoulder.
"Morning, handsome," Sirius whispered, pressing a kiss against Remus' damp shoulder and watching as the brunette's face settled into a pleased, soft smile.
"Morning, sweetheart," he replied, shifting in Sirius' light grip so that he was leaning back against the bathroom counter. "How you feeling?" Remus whispered, tracing his fingers up Sirius' arms as they draped them over the brunette's shoulders, twirling his curls between their fingers. "Well, my arse is sore and my neck's been ravaged by a beast, but I'm pretty good, overall," Sirius replied, smiling at the gentle possessiveness that was glimmering behind Remus' eyes.
Remus laughed softly, a gentle trace of his gravelly morning voice still present, before something more serious settled over his features. "Well that's a given, sweetheart, but I mean more emotionally. Where's your head at?" He asked, that same nervousness from the night before filling the room and settling down on his shoulders.
"I'm okay, Rem, I promise. I enjoyed last night, I enjoy this, I'm not gonna split and run away from you. As long as you'll have me, I'll be yours," Sirius replied, taking note of the subtle changes to the brunette's features. His nervousness turned into pure joy, a deep aura of genuine care joining the possessiveness that dances across his irises.
He was fucking elated.
It took no time before Remus was tilting Sirius' face so that their lips met, moving together slowly and carefully, as Sirius' fingers found the knot of Remus' towel and pulled; ripping a surprised yelp from the brunette.
Every fibre of his being was screaming at Remus as he slowly pushed Sirius away, moving his hands down to their clothed hips and settling themselves there. "Ah, not right now sweetheart, we've got places to be," he pointed out, smiling at the playful pout that Sirius was now sporting. "How about I meet you halfway? Making-out and smoking on the balcony?" Remus teased, sauntering in the bedroom in his birthday suit like it was the most comfortable thing he could be doing. Sirius simply laughed at the ridiculousness of the man in front of them, dutifully following him and throwing on one of the dressing gowns that were hanging up in the wardrobe, watching as Remus pulled on a pair of sweats and a white vest; picking up his pack of cigarettes and his lighter on his way outside.
They settled into chairs next to each other, both plucking a cigarette from Remus' pack and lighting them in silence. With the comfortable silence settling over the both of them, Remus pulled Sirius' chair closer to him with one hand, using the same hand to drape their legs over his lap; humming in content as he softly traced his fingers over their soft skin.
All Sirius could do was stare in awe at the brunette, admiring the subtle exhibition of strength. They leant over slightly, draping their free arm over Remus' shoulders and twisting his face towards themselves. They didn't need to thing about it before they were kissing again, letting their cigarettes smoke themselves down by their sides, lingering smoke settling across their tongues.
For the next hour they stayed like this, smoking more than was healthy and engaging in non-committal, easy conversations; only being interrupted by their instinctive need to lick their way into each others' mouths every ten minutes.
"Come on then, sweetheart," Remus started, lifting Sirius' legs off of his own and offering them a hand. "We don't wanna be the last ones to the bus. Especially when we're gonna be the least hungover." Sirius nodded in agreement and let out a soft laugh, taking Remus' hand and allowing themselves to be dragged back into the bedroom.
"I won't take long to get ready, come get me in fifteen minutes?" They whispered, hand resting on the main door handle as they waited for the brunette to respond. "Sounds good, sweetheart," he assured, kissing them sweetly before watching as Sirius hurried off down the corridor; laughing at the image before him.
It didn't take Remus long to get himself sorted, simply throwing a hoodie over the outfit he was already wearing and slipping his boots on with ease. He bundled everything up and stuffed it into his suitcase, taking the time to fold Sirius' costume from the night before and rest it neatly on top of his own clothes; tucking their heels in a space on the side. Within fifteen minutes, he had everything ready and was pulling his bag after him down to Sirius' own door. It only took two quick raps of his knuckles against the wood for Sirius to come running, pulling it open with a fresh smile across their features.
"Ready?" Remus asked, earning a nod from the other as they slipped their leather jacket over their shoulders and pulled their sticker-bombed suitcase into the corridor; pulling it next to them with ease.
They made their way about halfway down the corridor before Remus was stopping in front of James' door, banging aggressively against the door with a shit-eating grin across his face. He'd seen the state that James was in when they'd left last night, so god knows what he was like when the rest of the group had got back to the hotel, but Remus definitely didn't envy him. With a lot of swearing, and a loud groan, the darker-skinned man pulled the door open and stared at the brunette; utter hatred behind his eyes.
"What the fuckslightly less like death than his boyfriend. "You ready to go?" Remus laughed out, returning James' half-hearted middle finger with his own, as James joined everyone in the hallway. They walked in silence until they bundled into the lift, James leaning against the wall as Regulus buried himself in his arms, sunglasses covering at least half of his face. In their current states of hungover, both men completely glossed over the fact that Sirius was leaning casually against Remus' side, fingers dancing softly over his sweatpant-clad thigh.
"So you two made up, huh?" James muttered, pulling Regulus tighter against his chest as he focused all of his attention on the other pair across from him. Remus simply nodded, insisting that they chatted last night and that he'd admitted he was an asshole. James let out an agreeable chuckle at that statement, adding that this was no new information. "You know, I didn't see either of you after like eleven last night, where did you disappear to?"
Remus only chuckled, brushing his fingers over Sirius' to calm them as he noticed them stiffen against his side. "To be fair, Jamie, I think Lewis Hamilton could've walked into that bar last night and you would've walked right past him. You were absolutely fucking gone. We were there all night and then came back with you all, you were just too busy sucking your boyfriend's face off in the lift to notice." James laughed at that, only being spurred on by Sirius' disgusted face; that hid a smile.
Only the group exited the lift, they were greeted by the rest of their friends, all of which were sporting very similar expressions to James and Regulus. Lily was also donning a pair of ridiculously oversized sunglasses as she chugged a bottle of, what looked like, Lucozade until there wasn't even a single drop left. Where the hell had she got Lucozade from? Remus simply shrugged away the thought, understanding that Lily Evans was fully known for getting exactly what she wanted, when she wanted, no matter how difficult. He could see Marlene sat on the curb outside, cigarette between her fingers, as her spare hand seemed to be completely supporting her head. Dorcas seemed to be on about the same level as Remus and Sirius, chatting away happily to Mary, the slight squint in her eyes and half-drunk bottle of water in her hand only just giving her away.
Peter, however, was on the other end of the scale. He was, quite literally, throwing up into the bin in the hotel lobby.
"Jesus, Pete, you better fucking get all that up before we get on the road," Remus joked, simply earning a middle finger from the blonde as he wretched; again. Mary scanned the four people in front of her and her face seemed to settle into a, reluctant, smile when she realised that two of them seemed to be completely fine.
"Honestly, you'd think I was managing eighteen-year-olds. I have cleaned up more vomit today than I ever had to working in a bar and I don't appreciate it. You know we have an entire day of driving ahead of us, right?"
James, Lily, and Regulus simply groaned at the notion, Dorcas grimaced slightly, while Remus and Sirius smirked at the rest of their friends. Peter, once again, wretched into the bin that seemed to be his new home. Eventually, they had all checked out and gathered themselves to the point where they started to head out to the bus.
Remus didn't even notice that him and Sirius were leading the group, and didn't think much of it, until he twisted his head and locked eyes with Regulus. All of a sudden, the brunette was overly aware of his hand resting against Sirius' waist in an action that was just slightly too far away from platonic. Luckily, the youngest member of the group didn't mention anything, and the rest of the group were far too out of it to even consider what anyone else was doing.
Someone else who did see the action, however, was Evan.
The driver was leant against the side of the bus, cigarette between his fingers, watching the group stumble their way out of the hotel. As his eyes scanned over each of them, they zeroed in on the brunette's hand around Sirius' waist. Remus didn't quite know what to expect, fully preparing himself for an onslaught of insults from Evan, but what he certainly didn't expect was for him to simply lock eyes and send him a reassuring nod as a response; before inhaling around his cigarette.
The conversation had been had. The understanding had been settled. It was a simple notion that said way more than anyone else could ever comprehend.
Simply though, it was Evan saying message received.
"Come on then, you lot, in you get. It's an eighteen hour drive to your next stop so feel free to sleep as much as you want and, if I don't stop, let me know when you want to. Mainly, if you need to puke, you tell me." Evan seemed to have only directed that last statement at Peter, earning a weak thumbs up from the blonde and a chorus of laughs from the rest of the group.
They bundled into the bus, most people retreating to their bunks as Evan began to pull away from the hotel. Remus made his way to the sofa, relaxing against the cushions with the primary intention of actually making a dent in the book he was currently crawling through.
His plans were slightly interrupted, however, when Sirius collapsed next to him.
It was easy now, for Remus to wrap his arm around Sirius' shoulders and continue making his way through his book. It was easy for Sirius to settle their head against Remus' shoulder and just enjoy the unexpected peace for a moment. It was easy for them to meet each other in a soft, sweet kiss for a moment, returning to their own activities as if they'd never been interrupted.
It really should've have been that easy, but neither of them was going to complain.

"Remus," Regulus called, turning the brunette's head as he watched the younger leave the bus and join him on the steps outside. They were just over halfway through their drive and decided on a proper stop, pulling into a gas station and letting most of the group run wild to get as many snacks as they could carry.
Remus, however, had decided to sit outside with a joint; enjoying the solitude for a moment. That solitude, however, had just been ripped away by Regulus.
The younger boy had a bit of a strange expression on his face, one that Remus couldn't confidently label. It seemed like a mix of concern, anger, confusion, and a sprinkling of happiness over it all. He finally made his way into Remus' space and settled down next to him, taking the joint with a smile when it was offered to him, eyes not giving away any sense of what they were going to talk about.
"So," Regulus started, a vaguely shit-eating grin sliding onto his face. "How are you and Sirius?"
A mix of relief and anxiety washed over Remus as he studied his friend's face, quite thrilled that he hadn't immediately been met with a myriad of screams but also still expecting to at least get a little bit shouted at. "Um, yeah, they're good. We're good. It's all good." Regulus simply fixed him with a death stare that made the brunette stutter and then immediately concede, realising that there was no way of getting out of this without telling Regulus absolutely everything.
"Okay, fine, I told them everything. At the bar last night, I told them everything and then, yes, we did leave. James was right. We went back to the hotel together, things happened, we spoke this morning and it seems we're both on the same page," he finished, eventually locking eyes with Regulus as he took the joint back and inhaled around it.
Slowly, a genuine smile took over Regulus' face as he nodded in reply. "I figured as much, I feel like you both think you're a lot more subtle than you actually are. Don't think so little of me, Rem, I am actually happy for you. I think you're exactly what they need. Do you know if they've spoken to Em yet?"
Remus simply inhaled around the joint, appreciating the sentiment underneath Regulus' words. "We haven' specifically spoken about that, yet, been a bit caught up. But from what they said this morning, I'm guessing they'll get there pretty soon." Regulus simply nodded in response, understanding that not everything can happen in a day, but appreciating the fact that the two of them seemed to finally be communicating.
"Is this the time when I give you the little brother talk? If you break their heart, I kill you, typa thing?"
Remus simply shook his head and chuckled, shoving the younger's shoulder as the conversation moved on. It wasn't long before the rest of the group appeared in the distance, arms overflowing with any snacks that they could physically get their hands on. Everyone, except Sirius, made their way straight into the bus; both James and Marlene fist-bumping Remus as they passed. Sirius, however, settled onto the step below Remus and Regulus, dropping the packs of sweets, crisps, and cigarettes in front of them.
They tilted their head to lock eyes with the brunette, soft smile settling across their features as they gladly accepted the joint from Remus' fingers.
"All stocked up?"
Sirius only nodded as they exhaled. "Mhm, prepared to completely destroy my body with carbs, sugar, and nicotine."
Remus let out a soft chuckle as he leant forward slightly, plucking the joint from their fingers and using his spare hand to tilt their chin up slightly more, lips ghosting over each other's just enough to make Sirius' breath catch in their throat.
"I'd prefer if you didn't, selfishly."
They both finally closed that minute space between them at the same time, Remus smiling into the kiss at the fake-gagging sound that Regulus let out. Eventually, they separated, both turning to watch Regulus' face morph into one of pure disgust.
"Hey, I've had to watch you and James literally throw yourselves over each other for this entire tour, this is my revenge," Sirius pointed out, leaning into the palm of Remus' hand, that had now settled at the back of their neck; fingers tangled slightly in their curls. Regulus only shook his head, dutifully stealing the joint back from Remus with a grimace.
"Nah, this is so much worse."

"How are we all doing, Mexico City? Everyone still okay?" James shouted into his mic, being met with an onslaught of agreeing screams. The band were having an amazing show, probably the best of the tour so far, and it was all down to the crowd. Something about them was just that bit more enthusiastic, their energy making its way up to the stage and influencing everything the band were doing.
They'd been at it for just over an hour now, nearing the end of the set, and they'd played most of their hits. Sirius, Regulus, Marlene, and Dorcas were at their normal sports in front of the barricade, Mary off somewhere in the wings; probably typing rapidly on her phone. Every so often, Remus would lock eyes with Sirius, sending them a wink or an air kiss, purely to see the intense blush that took over their cheeks every single time.
It made Remus grin wider than he ever had, in his entire life.
He moved forward slightly, stopping just in front of his own mic as he slipped his bass from his body and rested it on the stand just next to him. "So guys, we've not got long left with you tonight," he started, pausing for a moment to let the crowd shout in disapproval. "But," he continued, dutifully quieting the crowd, so that he could continue. "Before we go, we've got a few more songs for you guys. One of which, I'm about to sing for you, if that's okay?"
The crowd erupted, as was normal whenever Remus said he was going to sing as their main, and the brunette lapped it up. Slowly, his eyes tracked back over to Sirius, locking into place on theirs.
"So, I wrote this song many years ago, but I've never really sang it much live. I'd have to say that that's because, initially, this song had never meant anything particularly special to me, it was simply about a guy I hooked up with once. But, recently, it's started to be about someone a hell of a lot more special," he finished, appreciating the flush on Sirius' cheek, the shy smile across their face, and the way their friends were teasing them.
"This is Enchanted."
The backing track started to fade in, quietly, as James began to strum in time; watching Remus sway to the beat, eyes closed softly as he soaked everything in. James knew who this song was initially about, and there was no doubt that he could figure out who it was slowly becoming about, even if he was the most oblivious person in the entire world. Remus was his brother, they knew every single detail about each other.
There I was again tonight,
Forcing laughter, faking smiles,
Same old tired, lonely place.
Walls of insincerity,
Shifting eyes and vacany,
Vanished when I saw your face.
All I can say is it was,
Enchanting to meet you.
It was a slower song than Remus normally wrote, requiring him to sing in his softer register, something that was making Sirius' heart skip ten times faster. Something else that aided in this was the fact that, at the end of the very first verse, Remus had opened his eyes and stared directly at Sirius as he sang the last couple of lines.
By the end of the song, they were going to be a puddle of their melted self, they were sure of it.
It wasn't long before Remus got to the chorus, backing track and instruments picking up slightly as he slid his microphone out of the stand, making his way to be truly centre stage; right next to James.
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go,
I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew,
I was enchanted to meet you.
He made his way around the stage, blowing a kiss to Lily as she kept her steady rhythm on her drums, and ruffling Peter's hair with the upmost affection.
As he made his way through the song, he eventually found himself back in his starting position, eyes falling upon Sirius; once again. Slowly, he took a seat on the edge of the stage, mere inches from the other. If he wanted to, he could pull them in by their jaw and kiss them stupid in front of thousands.
And god, did he want to.
This is me praying that,
This was the very first page,
Not where the storyline ends.
My thoughts will echo your name,
Until I see you again.
These are the words I held back,
As I was leaving too soon.
I was enchanted to meet you.
Against his own better judgement, and probably against anything that Mary would ever tell him to do, Remus jumped down off the stage at that line.
Predictably, the entire crowd went wild, people that were pressed against the barricade leaning further forward in an attempt to just get any contact with the bassist. Remus, however, was focused on one thing and one thing only.
A singular star amongst a crowd of thousands.
He made his way over so that he was standing in front of Sirius, close enough to link their hands softly and leave them hanging by their sides, but still far enough away that he wasn't outright admitting anything just yet.
A question flashed across his features, one that Sirius immediately understood as they nodded in response, knowing full well that if they'd have opposed, Remus would've let go in an instant. He knew what people would think as he sang these next lyrics in his current situation, he knew the implications that came with them, and it was probably the only time that the media implications about him would've been 100% correct.
Please, don't be in love with someone else,
Please, don't have somebody waiting on you.
Please, don't be in love with someone else.
Please, don't have somebody waiting on you.
He watched as Sirius' eyes widened and their grip on his hand tightened, seemingly responding to what Remus was singing. The brunette had a wild smile on his face, a softness settling around the corners as he continued.
Remus finished the song from his spot in front of the crowd, not moving an inch before the final notes flowed through the speakers. Just before he made his way back on stage, he tilted his head quickly, pulling Sirius' knuckles to his lips for the softest kiss he had ever laid against someone's skin.
He knew it was reckless, knew it had probably been photographed a hundred times, knew Mary would scald him horrifically for it, but he honestly couldn't find it within himself to give a flying fuck.
Sirius was a star, far too bright for anyone to ever even comprehend, but they were a star that had opened themselves up for Remus. Laid everything out on the table and let Remus take a seat without even a whisper of concern.
Sirius was for his eyes only, for his hands only, and he didn't give a singular fuck who knew. In fact, he wanted everyone to know.
