A light rap on Lux’s desk alerted her to a rather awkward looking Caitlyn standing beside her, already knowing what that meant. She couldn’t hold the sigh that welled up from inside, released as a groan while getting up from her chair.
“ Her again?”
“.....She’s taken over a nearby bank this time, threatening to blow it up. Would you please–”
Lux cut her instructions off with a glance, not needing them given the number of times they’d gone through this song and dance since her arrival in Piltover. Quietly she followed after the Sheriff, making sure to steer clear of any eye contact with her deputy that came to join them upon reaching the elevator.
The ride down was painfully quiet, it always was when that girl was concerned, ever since Lux had made that mistake upon first helping a case involving her. It continued to haunt all of them and it was something she could never take back.
“.....It’s been quite a while since her last attack….must have reached her limit.”
“..........”
“..........”
Caitlyn’s mutterings only caused the silence to thicken, Lux desperately staring at the ground to avoid how Vi shifted to stare at her. Any attempt at shrinking into oblivion always foiled by how tall she was, rivaling Caitlyn, her bulking figure from years of military service in Demacia not helping.
Really, if anything was to blame for their current situation it was that damn Demacian military service, having ingrained two things within Lux.
One, the importance of a regular workout to maintain a muscular figure prime for combat.
Two, quick non-lethal takedown techniques that used said muscles.
How was she supposed to know that doing said non-lethal takedowns on the notorious criminal Jinx would awaken something in her? Not only that, but made her actively seek it out so much her crime sprees felt like an excuse to get Lux’s attention.
‘I need to do something about this….I don’t think I can stand the looks from Vi for much longer.’
Those had only worsened upon Vi taking the devastating blow of being called a pervert by her own sister, having offered to do those takedowns in Lux’s place when she’d been off that day with a cold. She still remembered the defeated posture of Vi knocking on her door, awkwardly pleading with Lux to come deal with her impatiently waiting sister, sickness be damned.
She groaned, realizing it would be on her to bring up the topic when they met, Jinx content to make her do it.
Lux was going to have to ask her out.
—-----------------------------------
“Hehehehe, you’re finally here Hat lady, Fat Hands, and…. Lux!”
Jinx’s flushed face upon focusing in on Lux, even saying her name with a light tremble, elicited another intent stare from Vi beside her. Lux wore a strained expression as she steadily drew closer to Jinx’s small figure, growing increasingly excited with each step forward.
“Oh~~ How brave Lux ! Thinking of wrestling away my detonator through the use of sheer force ? Quite confident in those….m-muscles of yours aren’t you? But, I won’t give it up without a fight!”
Her giddiness only grew as she went on, true intentions beginning to leak through.
“Too much of a goody goody to actually hurt me huh? Always using those b-big juic– I mean!–strong muscles of yours to f-force me to stop. I will admit, once you get me pinned I can’t struggle out no matt–”
“Jinx, let’s just go out.”
Lux didn’t miss the muffled chatter from some of the hostages expressing their relief at someone finally saying it, causing her to offer a silent apology at them having to deal with being taken prisoner more than once by Jinx.
The only sound after filling the area was the clatter of the detonator, Lux not concerned about it going off since she knew Jinx hadn’t set anything up in the first place, too worried about hurting her by accident with a misfire. Jinx stood frozen, shorted out by her words, not even moving as she came to a stop in front of her.
“There’s no need to keep involving unwilling people in this Jinx, I don’t really…. mind just doing it for you alright? Just….tell me what you want and I’ll try my best okay?”
“.......”
A limp nod from a boiling Jinx settled the case, easily letting herself be led over to the waiting figures of Caitlyn and Vi. Wordlessly the Sheriff gestured to the door, letting Lux know they’d take care of the rest while she led Jinx away. After their first meeting, her mayhem had devolved into little more than mischief as the thrill she’d gained from her rampage rapidly decreased in proportion to her increasing desire for Lux. She’d long since been determined as no longer a threat to the public.
“No more of this alright?”
“R-Right!”
“Good Girl.”
“A-Ah….”
“......”
From the increasing heat coming from her hold on Jinx’s hand she realized that praise kink would need to be added to her mental list. As Lux led the uncharacteristically quiet Jinx back to her apartment she couldn’t help but feel relief about preparing in advance, making sure her research on the subject had been extensive to avoid any painful mistakes.
‘That reminds me!’
“Jinx, we must come up with a safe word. It’s of the utmost importance according to my research! Ah, also we have to work out ground rules to see what we’re both comfortable with.”
“U-Umm….”
“Don’t worry, we’ll go over everything once we arrive at my apartment. Being thorough in one's research and preparing in advance is the Demacian way, that includes matters of the bedroom.”
Lux’s sincere tone made a wobbly smile spread across Jinx’s face, latching herself onto the strong muscular arm she’d grown to adore with a giggle.
“Took you a while, Lux.”
“I thought you were going to.”
“No way, too embarrassing.”
Loud cackles filled the air, Jinx unable to contain them with Lux’s incredulous stare at her confession.
