Chapter Text
She’s confusing.
Her hair is neat, her clothes fresh and clean.
But she is anything but tame.
She bounces around everything that ever is or was, carelessly careful, water that burns.
At first glance, she seems to hold the entire universe in her eyes.
At second glance, you see she holds a lot more than that.
She‘s confusing.
Her name is written in music; her wife is named Song, and the laugh of a bubbling river.
She sings with the grinding of engines and stands in awe at the silent chorus of infinity, so close, so crushing, unreachable no matter how far she travels, no matter how many people she is.
She‘s confusing.
Always new, sometimes ancient.
She has had so many faces
Been so many people
Loved more and lost more than a world.
And she is always alone but never alone and when she closes her eyes she hears more screams than she can count.
She marches to her own tune and flees from the sound of drums,
Her own drums.
She‘s confusing.
So, so human.
So, so alien.
So, so unready for it all to end and yet she
Cannot stand the thought of going on.
And the stars are in her eyes as she closes them
And a sun burns in her eyes when they open
And she is new.
