Chapter Text
A few months had passed since the ending of the Red Sky incident, and things had roughly returned to normal, or at least as normal for Hisui.
Wounds were well on their way to healing. The Commander had submitted a request to step down after his actions during the event. Akari had been announced as a hero to Hisui and had been brought back into the Galaxy team. And Zisu and Ingo were currently talking about the possibility of the Warden and his boys moving in with her, after her and the Warden really hitting it off during the festival celebrating Akari's victory, and some news they had received afterwards.
Now the twins stood, side by side out in the Fieldlands, Emmet's mouth a gape as he stared up at the two gods Akari had just let loose in front of them.
Apparently, they had been responsible for the whole Red Sky incident.
And now Akari was just…talking to them…like normal Pokémon.
“Hey…Ingo?” Emmet whispered, nudging his brother in the side.
“Yeah, Emmet?” His brother replied, not taking his eyes off the two gods.
“If Akari tries to battle us right now, I don't think we could win.”
Before Ingo could even think of a reply, Akari let out a shout of Frustration and crossed her arms. “What do you mean you can't send Uncle Ingo and the Twins back home?!”
“Pretty sure battling isn't really on her mind right now Emmet,” Ingo replied, slowly starting to walk toward the teen. “And I would suggest not bringing up to her either.”
The two godlike pokemon looked at each other, before Dialga let out a low rumble in response.
“‘It's not the right time’ what does that even mean?” Akari groaned, staring up at the two as the twins joined her. “You're the gods of Space and Time, why can't right now be the right time?”
“Are you actually talking to them, like you did with the Lake Guardians?” Ingo asked and he came to a stop next to Akari, glancing up at the two giant pokemon.
“Yeah,” the Teen sighed as she let herself fall back on her butt. “But the conversation isn't exactly going well.”
“They won't send us back home?” Emmet added, setting down next to her.
“No” Akari threw a glare up at Dialga “at least, not yet. ‘It's not the right time’ or whatever.” She mocked, trying to mimic the voice she had heard in her head and let out a long sigh. “Sorry, guys. Really though I'd be able to get you two home.”
“Well they're not saying they ‘won't send us home’.” Ingo stated as he plopped himself down on the other side of Akari. “So we just hold out until we can. Like taking a train, we just need to wait until the departure time. Can't board too early after all.”
Akari gave a slight shrug, but smiled all the same. “I guess that's true. Less of a ‘can’ and more of a ‘when’, huh”
still she had been hoping to be able to use the powers of Palkia and Dialga to get the Twins and her Uncle out of harm's way, but sadly that wasn't happening.
“Besides, Dad and Zisu are currently trying to decide if Zisu should move in with us or if we should move in with her. It would be kind of rude to interrupt all that.” Lil Ingo continued, leaning back into the soft green grass behind him, watching a few starly fly by.
A chuckle escaped Akari’s lips. Oh yes, she heard about that. It was quite the talk of the village at the moment. The captain of the Security and the strange Pearl clan Warden from the mountain moving with each other. Scandalous! “Yeah, I heard about that. Guess those two really hit it off at the festival, didn’t they.” She smiled, she had seen the two carrying on at the festival, dancing and drinking like two adults having fun, before disappearing so somewhere more private. It was good to see her Uncle having fun, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to let them be for just a bit longer.
“They got on verrrry well, well enough for us to be getting a new sibling, yep” Emmet added, flopping down on his stomach, playing with a bit of grass.
And Akari nearly choked. “I’m Sorry, what?!”
“Yeah, They told us the other day.” Lil Ingo clarified, pulling his hat down over his eyes and resting his head on his crossed arms.
Akari’s mouth fell open as she just stared at the twins, bringing a hand up to her forehead. Things just got a lot more complicated. And in a moment of frustration she snatched Ingo’s hat and smacked him with it.
“Ow, Akari! What was that for?” The boy yelled, sitting up quickly rubbing his head.
“For making things harder than they needed to be.” Akari couldn’t even look at him. not that this was his fault… at least not yet, anyway. Then again, could she even blame her Uncle or Zisu for this either.
“What did I do?!”
“You’ll figure it out when you're older.” She almost laughed at that as she realized what she was saying and just who she was saying it too. “Or maybe you won’t, guess it depends on how much you remember.”
But the boy just gave her a confused and irritated look.
She shook her head and muttered a quick apology before looking up at the god of time once more. “If now isn’t the right time, then how will we know when it is?”
Dialga didn't answer, but something in her bag let out a loud Bing sound.
Digging through her beg, as both the twins watched her closely, she pulled out her Arc-phone. The twins pulled in close to her as she hit a button and opened the lock screen to the messenger app, where a new message was waiting for her.
The same one she had gotten when she had first been sent to Hisui, her whole reason for being her.
Seek out all Pokémon
They sat in the middle of the pastures in their human guise, Akari’s pokedex open in their hand as they read through the completed pages. They had slipped it from her bag while she was in the deepest of sleep.
They had to admit, things weren't going exactly to plan, but in the end it would be worth it.
“ Akari was not pleased to hear that the Warden and the young twins could not be returned to their correct times yet ” a voice spoke up, but Arceus didn't bother to look up as Dialga approached.
"Akari is at the moment one of the first people to catch not just one but two of us." Arceus answered, dismissively as they looking over Dialga's page. "and that number will increase, she has little to be displeased about."
“ She wasn't even pleased to hear about the gift of life you bestowed upon Warden Ingo and his mate .” Palkia added as they joined the two, though there was a slight laugh in their voice. “ Though I must admit, I was a little surprised Ingo would take one such as Zisu as a mate, but the two do make such a good match. ”
This time Arceus turned to face their children with a wide smile. “ I thought so too. Humans really are funny creatures .” they snapped the dex shut and stood. “ I will have to extend my thanks to Emamorus .”
“But, Why? ” Dialga, always the pragmatic one, questioned.
“ Because my request pulled her away from her back to Hisui a little early, but if she hadn't flown by at that time then- ” they stopped, this was not the answer Dialga was looking for, and Arceus knew that. They sighed. “ My child, it is because the three of them are not supposed to be here. Akari is here by my will, but the other three are not. ” they ran a hand through their white hair. “ And when we do send the three back, to their own times, hearts will be broken, I simply wish to minimize the damage as much as possible. ”
Arceus held the pokedex in both hands once again, flipping through the pages once more before continuing. “ By the time Akari has filled this book out, I'll know how to handle the young twins. I need to know if they can handle the truth or if I need to send them back missing a year's worth of memories. ” They would love for the twins to remember this place, to have real vivid memories of the Pokémon they met here. Even take their teams with them and continue to strengthen their bonds. But it was not hard to see that Hisui had left its scars on them. Their destinies were already written and Arceus could not allow a few memories to rewrite history.
Then there was the matter of how the three got here in the first place.
What exactly was their Wayward child trying to do? Whatever it was, Arceus wasn't about to just allow it. And sending the three back might just open them up to more meddling, at least here Arceus could keep an all seeing eye on them.
Dialga nodded, seeming to be satisfied with their maker's answer, stepping back next to their sibling.
“What would you have us do? ” Palkia asked, stepping forward.
With a wave of their hand, the Pokedex disappeared, returning back to its proper place. “Until then, watch over Akari and the twins, but do so quietly, and inform me of any changes no matter how small.” They headed towards the side of the pastures that lead to the Fieldlands, easily leaping over the fence and taking on their true form. “till then, I will seek counsel from the Guardians of the Lakes. For now this story is at an end, but soon it will begin a new”
