“You remember the last time we were here?” Evan asks lightly, although it was hardly the happiest occasion for them all, “You had to fix my tie then too.”
“Sure,” Maddie laughs at the memory, remembering how Evan tugged at his collar constantly, leaving his tie off-centre constantly, “I didn’t have to reach up back then, though.” He rolls his eyes at her teasing, but they both know his final growth spurt didn’t hit until right before he was seventeen and left him outgrowing all his pants. “You still look as handsome as ever.”
