It’s a dream coming true.
After all these weeks of preparation, finally, the enlightenment at the end of the tunnel showed itself. All these years Sasuke had been waiting for this moment; the return to his soulmate, and for once and all, he was ready for it.
Each step closer made his heartbeat rise; higher and higher with the blood rushing in his ears. The loudness was almost enough to drown out the terrible music, but no, not quite yet.
The floor trembled from the force of the beat and the happy trampling of the crowd and the voices carried the music all the way to the entrance, to him, before the party opened a whole new world for him.
The different lights flickered on and off and illuminated everything in colorful sparkles and shines. And at the end of the rainbow was the priceless gift for his patience and unconditional love.
Uzumaki Naruto.
He was just as beautiful as on the day Sasuke was forced to leave. His hair still shone golden like the most wanted treasure of the sea with eyes that captured the endless horizon. Sasuke craved the perfect embrace of his other half, sinking back into his love like nothing had ever changed. But everything had changed, hadn’t it?
They had lived apart for so many years and while Sasuke’s existence was on hold in the solitude of torture and talking, Naruto bloomed in a garden of disgrace. Other people were bestowed with the sight of his growth but as his mate, he missed it all. Instead disgusting people crowded him in and wanted a piece of him, wanted a piece of his alluring omega.
Oh, but what a lucky man he was. Truly blessed, nonetheless.
His favorite person in the world presented as an omega. It couldn’t be anything less than the reward he had waited for his whole life. A perfect match from the heavens. The sweet sensation of his desires embodied in his sun, everything he would ever need in this torturous life to be happy again.
And he was truly happy, because how could he not? Naruto once promised to love him to the day they shared their last breath of life together. The rest of the world were nobodies, not important, at least not in the eyes of the beholder, and all Naruto needed was just a little reminder who was fundamental to his happiness.
The simplest solution for a little remembrance of their love with no room for rejection.
It was easy to drop the little pill in his drink and watch it dissolve.
—
This must be what dreams were made of.
Salty drops of tears coursed down the scarred cheeks, the blue eyes glistering like the Caribbean ocean and inviting him to drown in this paradise of body and soul. And oh, Sasuke wanted to, wanted to so badly, his body buzzed with excitement as they lips brushed against each other in shy, restrained love.
And as the minutes passed by, he couldn’t even call it a kiss anymore. It was an attack on his body and soul, devouring and inhaling his every cell. Their tongues clashed together, lips sucked his life force from his very muscle and the hitched breaths were an endless echo in his mind, forever branded in his memories.
His fingers tingled and burned when he touched his omega, revealing golden skin and dark perked nipples. He bathed in the sweet, unmated scent of untouched omega, and parted Naruto’s thighs like the Red Sea and slid in the most beautiful home his body had ever known. It was the embrace he longed for since he knew what else he could do with his dick.
Naruto fell into their embrace like a puppet with its string cut, breathless and helpless. He melted like butter and almost merged with the dark seats of his rented car, blond hair fanned out against the darkness of night, shining bright enough to rival the sun. There was no way Sasuke could give the car back now, not with these delicious pheromones and memories clinging to the leather.
And the words, oh, the words.
His omega thirsted for his love and attention, confessed and begged with a delirious voice for a new profound bond, greedy for reconnection.
“I’ve always wanted you.“
“Don’t leave me again.“
Sasuke climaxed with a sigh of utterly relief against Naruto’s skin; because of course, of course, how could he have ever doubted it? Naruto loved him for eternity too, unconditional and boundless, eager to wait just a tiny bit more for the collection of happiness.
They’re drunk in love, drugged with endless possibilities finally reachable again.
He’s so happy he wanted to cry.
—
Ever since he bathed in the bloodshed of his parents corpses, his sense of smell changed. It was no wonder, the scenery was something nightmares were made of.
He dreamed of the color of blood on his hands and the metallic taste on his tongue, burning everything away. He recalled the loud squish of jerking away from his mother’s dead body, slipping in the pool of blood at his feet; forever falling in the deep abyss of anguish and agony.
He thought, he would never be able to smell ever again. The metal and copper forever branded on his taste buds followed by the vomit of disgust. It clogged his mouth and nose, unable to smell past the horror.
He tried to forget about it. Dreamed up different scenarios, kept telling himself it wasn’t so bad. It was just blood. He bled internally ever day and had never smelt the copper before. Why should it be different with drowned fabric?
He pushed the lacerated bodies and drowned fabrics in a box, locked it and pushed it far away. As long as he didn’t smell the blood, it was okay. If there’s no blood outside the box, there’s no copper and metal in the air either.
Unfortunately, his tactics didn’t work and he thought for sure, this time, he would finally join his parents in death. Instead he met the saving grace named Naruto.
They were both children, still scentless, but whenever Naruto rushed past him the copper diluted with sweetness and salt. It was completely different to the heaviness of metal. And if that wasn’t already enough, his personality was everything he lost and yearned for. The happiness warmed the room, made him hot under the collar without the present of sexual desires but the hot boil of life instead.
It was beautiful, it was magnificent.
His sense of smell expanded overnight. Suddenly, he could smell everything his friend touched. The dirt of the playground sticked to him, the saltiness of his favorite food dripped down this own throat without a single touch, and the strong aroma of food boosted his hunger.
Naruto was perfect. He was full of life and love, ready for the plucking, and Sasuke wanted him like nothing before in his life. He wanted him more than his parents, wanted him more than his precious brother. He was hopelessly addicted to the emotions his friend erupted in him.
After spending so much time in the scent of comfort, the loss was even worse than the loss of his family, because he knew, his love was not dead, not truly gone, just out of reach.
Just be happy, was a mantra spoken to his mirror everyday before he could escape back to the real world. Dead eyes answered him every time, but he’s still alive and somewhere in the wide world Naruto’s alive too.
They reunion was written in the stars and all it would take was fake it ‘til you make it. So Sasuke faked his happiness until he made it to the real deal. And oh, what a treat it was. He found his soulmate again and Naruto’s smell exploded the anguish in fireworks of euphoria.
It was even better than he could have ever imaged.
And his everlasting patience was rewarded after they consummated their love in the back of his car as well.
His perfect omega, his everything, gave him the ultimate pleasure of their mixed scent, once again sticking to his skin in comfort and love.
It seemed Sasuke needed to prepare a little more than he expected with the addiction of their wonder baby.
—
It’s perfect.
She’s a nobody; born between poverty and grabbing hands, fallen into sex work, desperate for acceptance and love with nobody to miss her.
Her parents were long dead and she never had any siblings to begin with, at least no sibling she knew off, and the very few friends she had, disappeared from her life after she left everything behind to pursue her passion of omega specialized birth.
Sasuke needed her, he needed her more than anyone else could have ever need her. She was perfect; a former whore that nobody would miss at the end of the day, because she never connected with her new life in her haste to learn. And that’s perfect, fucking perfect, because she knew exactly how to help him and all he needed to do was pretend to love her for a few lousy weeks.
And the heavens couldn’t have made it easier and more perfect for him, because she’s also an omega, useful to her very last breath.
He could have made do without her endless screams when he finally put her in his well-thought cage, though, but obedience can be taught, especially to a whore.
When all was said and done, Naruto would have to forgive him. Her inevitable end justified the means and he’s sure, Naruto would come to understand that it’s a small price to pay for the wellbeing of their first child.
No one would miss a whore, least of all Sasuke.
—
Sasuke loathed people.
He couldn’t even begin to fathom the possibilities of loving them when another useless person digged their pointy elbow in his ribs and stood in the way of his objection, ready to prove him right. Snarling, he shoved them out of the way without hesitation and walked up to his omega.
Sasuke would forever thank the heavens that his sun waited so patiently for him.
Naruto was as radiant as always. His scent was a delicious mix of alpha and omega pheromones, peaking his pregnancy of bonds without being mates at all. Sasuke could smell himself on his skin, hair, and clothes; a soft faint togetherness of everything he needed, a dream coming true.
The pregnancy suited him well. His belly was big and round, and full of life. For sure his soon-to-be-born son chose the perfect omega as his parent. Sasuke couldn’t be more proud and excited.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t Naruto from the orphanage in front him who would have jumped at the prospect of their new home. No, this omega already built a nest, a different one, without his alpha. Sasuke knew his mate like the back of his hand, knew of his feelings buried deep inside his chest ready for the fly, but this Naruto needed a little help with the decision of leaving.
He may not feel comfortable with it, but Sasuke didn’t mind the dissolving sleeping aid in Naruto’s juice as much as he should have. If there’s even the smallest chance of rejection, then it’s the right choice. Well, he’s also getting the opportunity of embracing and carrying his mate home, right over the threshold to his bed. That wasn’t too bad either.
Their kiss lacked the passion from their first time, but Naruto’s warmth against his was still comfortable like a security blanket. He was heavier than he thought he would be, but it was no problem to seat him in the temporary nest of the newly bought car. (Not rented anymore, it’s theirs now.)
He drove down the highway with the soft tunes of Pharrell William’s ‘Happy’ playing on repeat in the car, a honest smile spreading on his face. Brushing the blond mane out of Naruto’s face, he quietly sang along: “Because I’m happy, because I’m happy… with you.“
Naruto didn’t reply but he knew the answer.
The endgame was always supposed to be Sasuke and Naruto, together for the rest of their life.
