Chapter 9: Epilogue

Chapter Text

Severus had finally perfected his scar tissue potion and had started letting Hermione and Lucius begin taking it. It would be roughly 6 doses over a years time but then they would be completely free of their scars. If everything went well with that Severus would start marketing and then supplying the potion to hospitals. His hope was that once everything was going well with that he could devote more of that time to helping Hermione with her potions for reversing memory charms. She would get so close then there would be a setback. It was one of the most complicated potions Severus had ever seen. Not that he didn't think Hermione could do it herself, brilliant witch that she was, but maybe he could help her. He wanted this to happen for her so she could move on and feel the loss of her parents was not for nothing.

Severus and Hermione's relationship continued to blossom. He had considered asking her to move in with him but thought maybe it was too soon for her or that maybe she wouldn't want to leave her beloved little cottage. He had grown quite fond of it as well. He loved that every corner of it had been touched by her and it felt like home, something he had never really felt before. Hogwarts sometimes felt like home but after the war it was never the same. For now things seemed to be working out perfectly so he would wait for her to bring it up and accommodate whatever she wanted. They spent every night together at either her cottage or his home in Rickmansworth. Little bits of their personal belonging had started to merge into one another's homes. Things seemed perfect to Hermione and she felt grateful to have not only her love Severus but also their dear friend Lucius who usually saw the couple on the weekends. Lucius spent most of his week managing his financial interests but his visits to the Apothecary every Thursday continued as usual. Hermione was glad for it too. She knew the two men needed one another and she never wanted to come between them. She truly loved Severus and Lucius was as dear to her as anyone could be.
