“We don’t turn on our own here!”
“Do you want me to recount all the times that you did?”
The two agents who used to trust, love, and care for each other exchanged looks and silence. They looked at the person who had been like family once, and saw only pain. It was just the two of them and the damage they had done to each other.
Fitz spoke first, every word widening the chasm growing between him and Daisy “Jiaying, Hive, running away after Lincoln’s death. As if that would solve anything.”
Daisy opened her mouth to defend herself, but Fitz kept talking.
“I remember you turning on us when you first joined the team. You and your Rising Tide ex boyfriend. We welcomed you in and you couldn’t wait to betray us!” Fitz took a breath and spat the next words “That should’ve been a hint for the future to come.”
Daisy shook “I was wrong every damn time I did! And yes I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve done my best to atone. But you wouldn’t have blamed the doctor for your actions if you didn’t know you were doing something wrong!”
Fitz softened “You used to trust me.”
“I won’t make that mistake again.” Daisy’s voice only grew harder each word landing like bullets “I will never forgive you.”
Daisy stormed out of the cell with May on her heels before either of them could hear Fitz’s whisper.
“You’re not the only one.”
Daisy leaned against a wall and tried to keep the tears from spilling.
May grabbed her shoulder “Hey. I know this is difficult. We’re all strained and tensions are high, but you need to pull yourself together. Take a minute then come meet us in the control room to plan alright?”
Not trusting her voice Daisy nodded.
She knelt to the ground and cried. She remembered a time when it was Fitz protecting her from the rest of the team. She’d only just gotten her powers and thought something was wrong with her. It was Fitz who’d assured her that she was just different and there wasn’t anything wrong with that. She didn’t understand how it had gotten this bad between them. He used to be her brother, but she’d never be able to look at him again without remembering what he’d done to her. Daisy touched the still healing skin on her neck, and wanted to cry all over again. But her minute was up.

Fitz put his head in his hands. He did the right thing, but that didn’t erase the guilt for how it had to be done. If they had been any other way he’d have taken it. But they were out of options. Fitz knew he’d hurt Daisy, and he’d never forgive himself for that.
If she never wanted to see him again he understood. Tears fell upon remembering what he’d said to her. Most of those times weren’t her fault, and he truly didn’t blame her. Fitz had been so filled with anger that he’d lashed out and dug the knife where he could.
He leaned his head against the wall. Tears began to fall. The girl who had been a sister to him would die, and Fitz would live knowing she’d never forgiven him.

In the loop moments before she was killed Daisy realized how the Earth cracked. Talbot and the gravatonium killed her, absorbing her powers which he’d use to quake the Earth. The last words she ever spoke were “I’m sorry Fitz.”
Also in the loop Fitz blamed himself for the world’s end. He didn’t know how, but Daisy had cracked the Earth apart, and against her wishes he’d given her access to her powers again. Fitz tortured one of the best friends he’d ever had, and as she’d warned it led to the end of the world. Decades later he’d wake up screaming seeing his hands removing the device from Daisy’s neck.
Neither of them would ever know this because in this timeline Daisy would take the serum, beat Talbot, and Fitz would die before Daisy had the chance to tell him she had forgiven him.
