Chapter Text
It felt strange following her friend without Cotton Candy knowing she’s being followed but Pink Choco wanted it to seem natural when she handed her letter to her love interest.
She watched her enter a store. Which caused Pink Choco to softly swear under her breath, it will be hard to aim properly in an enclosed area. The door was made of glass so she slightly poke her head out to see what’s going on.
She saw a yellow puffy hair cookie who seemed to be wearing a party dress. Pink Choco lowered her visor to learn who that cookie was.
Birthday Cake Cookie.
A party planner cookie that seems to be very interested in balloons and cakes. Bubbly and sweet as icing.
Pink Choco softly smiled as felt a heavy feeling in her chest. She could understand why her friend would fall for a cookie like Birthday Cake, a kind and fun cookie would be anyone’s kind. She watches as her friend handed the letter to the party planner.
Pink Choco tilted her head to crack her neck as she stood in front of the door, getting her Heart Beam ready. It would have been a perfect shot, it was aligned towards Birthday Cake perfectly and Pink Choco was not frightened by the recoil of her ray. It's just that she didn’t take in a count of the glass door reflecting her beam. She yelped as she ducked from the glitter hearts rushing towards her.
She panicked as she looked inside the store, both Cotton Candy and Birthday Cake both staring at her, questioning what the sudden pink light came from. Pink Choco awkwardly smiled, she was about to wave but Cotton Candy seemed to be startled and went to hide before the cashier.
That was odd.
Pink Choco shrugged it off as she turned to see where her beam went. She wondered if she could stop it from hitting any wandering cookies, but suddenly her visor scared her as it began to static.
“Oh no, no, no!”
It only does that if someone gets hit and looks at another cookie. This was a huge mistake that she couldn't fix, so she quickly went near a tree and sat down. Frowning as she forced herself to watch a poor cookie fall in love by accident.
Pink Choco sees a cookie with yellow afro puffs, her computer in her helmet quickly scans the cookie knowing that the cookie was not identified yet.
Banana Cookie.
A circus performer who trained a monkey to go through hoops. Loves to look at the bright side of things and willingly to give 110% on the things she does.
Pink Choco could feel her heartbeat in her ears, she just hoped Banana was in the right place, at the right time or she’ll feel really awful that she accidentally forced her into a relationship or even worse an unrequited love.
She sighed as she finally fully forced on the scene in front of her.
Banana Cookie bowed as Choco the monkey climbed up to her shoulder to do the same. She thought she did an amazing job of her performance as she heard the audience give a loud applause. The curtains close on her as she turns to her co-worker Ice Juggler.
“We killed it tonight!” She exclaimed as she jumped for joy.
While her work partner frowned, “We sure did (kill them with boredom)”
Banana Cookie smiled, “I’m going to go get a snack, want anything?”
“No,”
“Okay!”
“What about you Choco?” She gently petted the monkey’s chin.
Choco the monkey cooed which Banana accepted as a yes. She smiled and knew Choco would tag along, they were on her shoulder anyway.
She made her way around the crowded circus. She was surprised by the amount of cookies that came to their circus. The games are fun, the fun is amazing and the area they choose to settle in has a beautiful seaside view. The chattering of cookies made her smile as she heard snippets of conversations complimenting the food or the prizes that their friends got them.
She got giddy as she reached the popcorn stand. Her friend, Popcorn Cookie always had the best tasting popcorn. She can’t figure out how her friend adds the perfect amount of salt, butter, and a hint of pepper every time. She loves the hot after taste from the pepper, making her crave more of it. She knew it was bad for monkeys to consume spicy food so she always ordered another bag that was just plain.
But even the plain popcorn tasted amazing, the fluffiness and light butter always hits right. She knows Choco the monkey enjoys more than bananas and strawberries.
“How did your performance go?” Popcorn asked as she got Banana’s order ready.
“Amazing! I saw some people throwing flowers at us at one point!”
Popcorn chuckled and handed her the two bags, “That’s great! I wish you luck on your performance that starts in… erm,” she checks her watch
“In 30 minutes!”
“Thank you! And also thank you for your delicious popcorn!” She giggled as she left.
“Any time!”
Choco holds the small bag and begins to eat their popcorn quickly while Banana savors her. She smiled as she felt her cheeks warm up from joy. She feels like she’s in heaven. She went to get a handful of the salty snack but accidentally bumped into someone, dropping her bag. She gasped as she bent down, feeling like she just lost a friend at that moment.
“Oh! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to bump into you!” A cookie quickly responds.
Banana looked up and stared at an orange theme cookie. Her lips quivered, feeling like she could cry. It was dumb but she really was looking forward to devouring all the popcorn on her break but now it was ruined.
“Here, let me help you,”
The cookie extended her hand to help Banana up, she took the help but continued to stare at the tragic sight. Even Choco the monkey was speechless, not knowing what to do as they cling onto their bag not wanting to drop it like their trainer.
“I’m sorry… I could buy you another bag,”
“No, it’s fine…” Banana said as she looked at the other.
Her hair was made of orange slices which was cleverly styled in a ponytail, her orange theme clothes seem to be a tennis outfit now that the circus performer had a better look at the other cookie.
“Let me guess… You’re Orange Cookie?”
Orange Cookie was surprised and nodded, “Yes! How did you know?”
“Everything on you is orange,” she slightly giggled.
Orange blushed sheepishly, “Oh… right… Hey, I know you said you’re fine but I still feel bad for knocking your snack out of your hands, can I buy you another one?”
Banana thought about it, it was her job policy to not accept any offer of food or drinks for safety reasons but she will be standing next to the tennis player so it shouldn’t be too bad.
“Sure! I was craving them all day and wasn’t expecting bad luck to strike!”
Orange laughed as she led the other to the popcorn stand again, “The popcorn is really good, huh?”
“Yup! You should try it!”
She watched the other laugh, which she softly smiled. She wasn’t expecting to make a friend that day but she was glad she did.
Pink Choco blinked as the memory faded, she quickly got up to look for the two cookies. She stopped when she saw them hugging, she softly smiled at the scene. Glad to know she didn’t ruin someone’s love life.
“I’m so glad we became best friends! I love you!”
Orange laughed as she slightly swayed the other, “I’m still confused on why you hugging me, but I love you too,”
Pink Choco tilted her head in confusion, did they not fall in love? Was something wrong? She went back to Banana’s data and realized that she was not attracted to women, meaning that Banana had fallen in love with her friendship with Orange. She cooed at that, love does come in different forms and she was glad she made someone appreciate their friendship even more than better.
She was even more glad that the accident Heart Beam didn’t screw anyone over, so she looked over to Birthday Cake’s store and noticed Cotton Candy walking away from it. Her heart eyes staring at a letter.
Did Birthday Cake reject her? She cursed out loud, completely forgetting that she was trying to help her friend in secret. But for some reason, she was overjoyed by her friend being rejected. She should feel awful about it, especially when she is trying to spread love but it doesn’t matter now. She can follow her friend again, since it seems she has her eyes set on someone, and this time she’ll make that new cookie fall in love with Cotton Candy Cookie!
