Dusk till dawn

Work Text:

A/n: this is kinda based off the song dusk till dawn. It will be a short little sweet fic I hope you all enjoy. Please read and review it would make me happy to hear your thoughts. Anyway the summary is Maria and Canaan had gotten together but due to Canaan’s work Maria hasn’t seen her for 4 years. But to Maria’s surprise Canaan returns home at last.
It was a beautiful evening. Maria osawa stood on her balcony. A slight summer breeze blew through her long blonde hair. The light summer breeze cause goosebumps to form on Maria’s skin as she only wore a white tank top and Jean shorts. Her Hazel eyes looked to the sky, a red orange enveloping the blue as the sun began to set. She stepped back into her bedroom and sat on her bed. Her eyes turn to the black and white photo of her and Canaan that sat on her bedside stand. Her eyes closed as she thought of everything that has happened between them. It has been 4 years since she last saw her but Maria wasn’t worried, well only slightly, she was worried Canaan would get hurt but Canaan had promised her she’d come back. She placed the photo back on the stand and in the shadow of the evening sun someone was standing on her balcony.
She stood up and walked over. There standing in front of her was Canaan. She embraced her placing her head on the middle-eastern woman’s shoulder. “welcome home.” She whispered feeling Canaan pet her long blonde hair. The middle-eastern woman chuckled as she moved slightly to look into her eyes. Silver met Hazel as Canaan placed her hand against Maria’s cheek “well after all I promised you I would.” Canaan said softly leaning close. In the light of the setting sun the two shared a kiss. Canaan wrapped her arms around Maria.
They moved inside and slipped under the sheets. Canaan held Maria in her arms as dusk fell upon them. They fell asleep moments later. Canaan stirred slightly a few hours later, awoken by dawns first light. She smiled tiredly as she looked at Maria who was still in her arms. She placed a kiss to the pale skin of Maria’s forehead. The action caused Maria to stir slightly as she opened her eyes. She smiled as she looked to Canaan. She snuggled close to Canaan “I’m so happy your home.” She softly said. Canaan smiled “I promised you I would come home.” She said softly resting her cheek against Maria’s head.
Canaan had fulfilled her promise to come home to Maria. Of course it is not always easy but they know together things will be ok. This is how things are meant to be whatever life will throw their way they will face it together.

THE END
