Chapter Text

The first time she noticed it, she was playing with Zoey. It was barely a brush, a smull tug at the almost extinguished bond.

She jumped to her feet. Jodie looked around the small nursery, in a desperate search for the presence that felt so familiar.

She hoped for a sign. That maybe Zoeys toys would fall over or that the light would flicker...

Anything...

The demanding shrieks of a toddler brought her out of her daze. She looked once more around the room before she sat down again.

She locked this moment in the back of her mind.

Better not to get your hopes up...

----------------------------------------------------------

The next time it happened she was readying herself for bed.

It was around 1:00 AM when she felt it again. She was just about to drop dead in her bed after a long day of catching up with Cole.

This time she felt the temperature drop...

Could it really be?

Jodie looked cautiously around the room.

She could see her breath fogging in front of herself.

Maybe...

„Aiden? Are you there?"

Please, please, just another sign, something to show me it's you!

Her stuffed bunny flew off her bed.

Startled, she took a step back. Jodie looked intensely at the bunny.

She didn't dare even thinking it...

But what if?

„Aiden if it's really you I'll need more of a clue"

She really hoped it wasn't just another entity that escaped from the Black Sun.

She also hoped she wasn't waking up the others.

Suddenly her desk drawer opened and out came a sheet of paper and a pen.

Jodie walked towards her desk, where the pen began to write on its own.

Still here

Jodie gasped.

She could feel her eyes stinging with tears.

She can feel the bond flare up again, the odd tugging in the back of her mind.

„I missed you so much." She says with a teary voice and a smile tugging at her lips.

The pen is lifted once again as Aiden (definetly Aiden) replies.

Me too.
