Work Text:
Alastair never coloured himself as an early riser, but on the rare occasion he did wake up just as the sun began to rise, he couldn’t complain when he was met with his lover’s sleeping face. The Spaniard’s tan skin practically glowed in the early morning light as his brown curls sprawled out on the pillow. Antonio may have hogged most of the bed with his sprawled-out limbs, but Alastair didn’t mind almost falling out of bed when he got to wake up to this sight.
Antonio snuggled further into the pillow, his bangs falling into his eyes. Alastair chuckled slightly, brushing the hair out of his lover’s face before placing a kiss on his forehead. Unfortunately, Antonio scrunched up his nose, his eyes cracking open.
“Good morning,” Alastair greeted, “I’m sorry for waking you.”
Antonio only groaned, cuddling himself up against Alastair’s chest. The Scotsman smiled, allowing his arm to rest on Antonio’s waist. A few more minutes of rest couldn’t hurt. So the two dozed off again, only for Alastair to wake up about half an hour later. He grumbled as he turned towards the clock. 8:30 AM. Still too early in Alastair’s opinion, but both he and Antonio had a lot of work to do if they were to meet the deadlines set by their bosses.
“Come on,” Alastair sighed, nudging the sleeping form in his arms, “Rise and shine.”
“No,” Antonio whined.
After a few minutes of pleading only to have the breath squeezed out of him, Alastair gave up for a moment. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to just stay in bed with Antonio all day, he just didn’t want to hear the nagging from Arthur and Dylan when he was late handing in his share of the paperwork.
“You need to get up,” Alastair chided, attempting once more to break free from Antonio’s hold.
The Spaniard only groaned.
Alastair shook his head. “Fine. You know what? Since you’re so spoiled, how about I make you breakfast in bed.”
Antonio shot up. “No,” he screeched.
Now free, Alastair immediately got out of bed. “Then get up.”
Antonio sighed in defeat. Getting up and wrapping himself tightly in his night robe, he followed Alastair downstairs towards the kitchen.
