“I hate men,” Carol declares after her third beer. “Fuck ‘em.”
“No, thank you,” says Maria. “I would rather not.”
“Fair,” agrees Carol. “Don’t fuck ‘em. But… fuck ‘em.”
Maria laughs and squeezes Carol’s hand under the table. Even in a crowded bar—especially in a crowded bar—they have to keep under the radar.
“Picked the wrong job not to deal with men,” she points out.
“Yeah,” Carol grouses. She rests her chin on her hand. “We should quit. Go follow Lita Ford on the road.”
“Monica can join Joan Jett and the Runaways,” agrees Maria. Her eyes sparkle.
