“Chocolates?” Daphne peeked at the lavishly wrapped box the owl had just deposited in Astoria’s lap. “Got a hot date tonight?”
“Maybe,” Astoria winked.
Later, Astoria smoothed her red dress in front of the mirror, twirling a little. Daphne frowned in thought.
“So, Draco really asked you out? Pansy might not be thrilled about that.”
Instead of replying, Astoria raised a brow in the mirror, pinning her hair before going to answer the knock on the door. It opened to reveal Pansy, who gave her an appreciative once-over before claiming her mouth in a lengthy kiss that smudged the red of her lips.
“Oh, I think she’ll be fine with it,” Astoria grinned at her sister over her shoulder when they finally broke apart.
Daphne snapped her hanging mouth shut. “So neither of you is dating Draco?”
Astoria picked a chocolate from the box and slid it between Pansy’s lips. She hummed appreciatively.
“No. We discovered we had other mutual interests.”
She held Pansy’s face in hers and leaned in to taste the decadent confection on the other witch’s mouth. With a smirk back at a nonplussed Daphne, Astoria grasped Pansy’s hand to lead her out.
“Don’t wait up, Daph.”
