"So, how did Padmé take your admission to the potential trouble you've caused?" Obi-Wan asked, looking over at Anakin as they walked towards the mess hall.
"Well–"
"Correction, how much did she shout at you?" Obi-Wan grinned.
"Yeah," Anakin sighed, "but then she asked me to be more careful."
"I've been telling you that for years," Obi-Wan pointed out.
Anakin grumbled.
-----
"Sir! Sir!"
Anakin and Obi-Wan looked over to where one of the vode were running up to them.
"There has been an attack at Coruscant!" The trooper stated once they were close enough, "reports say that there was an assassination attempt gone wrong!"
"Who was it aimed for?" Anakin asked, standing up.
"Senator Amidala."
"Set route to Coruscant!"
-----
"This couldn't have come at a worse time," Anakin stated, having to raise his voice over the screaming of the engines.
"It could have happened without you warning her about the possible dragon changing," Obi-Wan pointed out.
"What do you mean?"
"Cody's dragon side came into play because he was about to die," Obi-Wan pointed out, "this was an assassination attempt, so it might be we come face to face with a dragon."
"She's going to kill me," Anakin groaned.
-----
They kept the group entering the dragon's den to a minimum. Only Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Rex and Cody were going to be going into it.
Fox waited by the Senator's door, "this is above my non-existent pay grade."
Cody chuckled, patting Fox on the shoulder as they walked past into the room.
A storm grey dragon was pacing the floor. Right from their head to the tip of their tail, they were covered in spines. On their limbs were spikes shaped liked little lightning bolts. They had two large sharp horns and a zagged point on the end of their snout. Just below the horns was something jagged pointed out, much like where the ear tuffs were on the other dragons.
Of to the side was a dead bounty hunter. Shattered glass and furniture were sprayed across the room.
Anakin winced as Padmé flung around to look at him, a range of hissing and crackling leaving her snout.
Suddenly, Cody burst into laughter. "The Senator is going to kill you, General Skywalker. I'd start to run."
Obi-Wan stared down at Cody in wonder. "You can understand her while she's in dragon form?"
Cody startled, "no one else can understand?"
"No, none of us understands each other unless we are both in dragon form," Anakin formed.
"That ability might be what you kept from your dragon forms, like how I kept my wings and senses," Obi-Wan grinned.
"Angry dragon first, nerd out later," Ahsoka stated from where Rex and herself had to dive too, to get out of the way of the angry Senator.
-----
Fox only sighed as they carried the unconscious human Senator out of the room. "I'm not dealing with this; you're doing the paperwork," Fox said the moment that he saw Cody.
Cody sighed, shaking his head with amusement, "of course, I'd expected nothing less."
-----
"So, I can turn into a dragon?" Padmé asked.
"Correct," Obi-Wan nodded.
"We can all turn into dragons?"
"Also correct," Obi-Wan nodded again.
"You all have visual traits of being dragons, but we do not," Padmé continued, "however, he can understand us in dragon form when he is in human form."
"Yes," Anakin shrugged.
"So what can Rex do?" Padmé asked, curious.
Rex startled, "I don't know whether I can do anything special without turning into a dragon."
"Maybe we just haven't had the chance to figure yours out," Ahsoka offered, "how were we to know Cody understood dragon until something like this happened?"
Rex shrugged, "yeah, I guess."
"Well, I'm exhausted and hungry," Padmé huffed, "so we're going to eat then rest. Figuring out everything comes later."
"Wait, when did you get to call the shots?"
"She always calls the shots, Anakin," Obi-Wan sighed, seeing everyone else nodding in agreement.
"So food, then rest," Cody nodded, "the General's due that anyway."
"Hey! I am not due anything!"
"When was the last time you ate?" Cody asked, continuing when he didn't get a response, "last time you slept?" Again, there was no response, "so you are due time to eat and time to sleep."
Obi-Wan grumbled as he was led away, hearing the others follow with a chuckle.
