Chapter Text
Satori fought his way to the front of the line and ran to the back of the bus and plopped down at the window seat. He grinned as he waited for Futakuchi to arrive. As he showed up he grinned at him. “Haha loser you were too slow!”
Futakuchi grumbled something under his breath as he sat down. His mood suddenly switched though as he pulled out his computer.
“Guess who got Suga to convince Daichi to jump in on our plot!” He exclaimed with excitement.
“Band directors too?” Satori said with a wide grin spreading across his face.
“Unsure, but Daichi’s bringing it to them and hopefully they’ll be in on it too.”
“Boo-ya!!” He whisper-shouted.
“Here it is. What changes do we want to make?” Futakuchi turned the laptop towards Satori showing the full score.
It was fun music to play, but sheet music always bored the two so for Satori’s last high school marching season, he wanted to make it memorable. So of course he roped Futakuchi into another scheme. If they pulled this off, this would be their biggest prank yet, and hopefully get all of the students a good laugh.
“Thomas the Tank Engine.” Futakuchi said, pointing at the title of the piece. “Can’t miss making a Thomas joke on a train piece.”
The two traded grins.
Tendou looked back at the music before typing out another change. “Tempo, like you’re building a train track in less than a day but you’re a perfectionist.”
“Oh wait wait wait! I just had a burst of genius.” Futakuchi said, taking the computer and scrolling a bit before pointing at one of the harder sections of the piece. “Everyone rushes badly here. So put “Lev’s the only Russian here. stop.’”
The two continued working on it, occasionally giggling at the changes they were making.
“Yo! Futakuchi, Satori! Whatcha laughing at back there!” Terushima called back from a few rows ahead.
“Your mom.” They said not bothering to look up from what they were doing. Futakuchi pointed at another place and gave a suggestion which Satori quickly typed in.
“Aww come on y’all. It’s no fun with the two of you back there keeping to yourselves. You never do that!” Terushima whined.
“Didn’t know you loved us so much Teru.” Satori said with a grin, still not looking up from the laptop screen.
Futakuchi laughed slightly at the comment but also kept his attention to the computer screen.
“I’ll go back there and take the computer away. Come one guys.”
The two exchanged looks before shutting the laptop off. The prank would be ruined if Terushima caught wind of it because he was one of the biggest gossips.
Terushima sent them a weird look at their reaction, “what were you guys working on back there anyways?”
“We were talking about how annoying you are.”
Terushima huffed and turned around and went back to talking with Hinata, Bokuto, and Bobata. The two let out a sigh of relief and opened back up the computer to continue on their work.
That could have gone worse. If Bokuto had caught wind instead of Terushima, he would not have let it go. To alleviate some of the suspicion, they put away the computer and went to converse.
Satori glanced up to the front of the bus before slipping forward a row and Futakuchi did the same thing. Double checking they moved up one row so they were next to Yamamoto.
The group of three glanced at the two of them.
“You guys finally decided to move forward! Why do you insist on sitting so far back every time?” Hoshiumi asked.
Satori grinned. “We can’t have our secret plans foiled.”
Futakuchi nodded his agreement.
“Are you guys planning another bus prank? Those are the best. You should let us join sometime.” Tanaka added.
Yamamoto and Hoshiumi nodded exuberantly.
“Maybe next time we’re planing one you guys can join in. After all, many minds are better than a few.
Futakuchi suddenly got excited. Satori paused and realized what song Noya and Akane had put on. Apparently in the time they had been working they had been banished to just Disney music again.
“Yooo, it’s the circle of life, we need to stand up and hold Hoshiumi up in the air!” Futakutchi said excitedly.
“Why meee?” He whined. “Iwaizumi is going to get so mad at us.”
“Because you’re the smallest one here!” Satori grinned. “Now come on!”
Hoshiumi climbed over Tanaka and Yamamoto as Satori stood in the aisle.
He lifted Hoshiumi up from under his arms and sang along loudly to the beginning of the song so the whole bus was looking back at them.
Iwaizumi turned around and stood up from his seat.
“Tendou sit down this instant!” He bellowed.
The two rolled their eyes and sat back down.
“Since the day we arrived on this planet~!” Futakuchi sang out horribly off key.
“And blinking stepped into the sun~!” Satori butted in slightly more on pitch.
“There’s more to see!”
“Then can ever be seen!”
“More to do then!”
“Then can ever be done!”
Tanaka then decided to butt in with the next line. “There’s far too much to take in here.” He was surprisingly a decent singer and hit the correct notes.
“More to find than can ever be found!” Yamamoto belted out, somehow worse than Futakuchi.
Hoshiumi not wanting to be left out jumped in on the next line. “With the sun rolling high.” He yelled.
“Through the sapphire sky.” Futakuchi took back over.
“Keeps great and small…” Satori sang.
“On the endless round~!” Futakuchi joined Satori.
Then most of the bus joined in to sing the chorus together. “It’s the circle of life!!”
“And it moves us all!” Sang Tanaka alone.
“Through despair and hope!” The rest of the bus joined in.
“Through faith and love~!” Sang out Satori on his short solo.
Then the rest of the bus was back in. “Till we find our place!”
“On the path unwinding!” Yelled out Hoshiumi.
Then with everyone yelling as loud as they could, everyone yelled, “In the circle, the circle of life!”
Satori grinned. The five in the back began to sing nonsense words with the music, and when the chorus came around again the same thing as before happened.
As the song came to a close Satori felt his phone buzz in his pocket.
Your bus is very loud.
-Ushiwaka
Satori grinned and looked out the window next to him and waved at the girl in the window seat next to him.
