Chapter Text

Emeralds slowly open to the world around him as he lays there, ten minutes before his alarm actually goes off but he stares at the ceiling of his dorm room. Memories - something he was not physically there to witness the carnage and chaos of the fight. His heart is racing from what was shown to him, he’s lucky he didn’t wake up screaming otherwise he might have to explain it to his friends. But how would he explain it?

Imagine having to explain to them about why he woke up at… Looking over at the time he gets another mini rush of adrenaline because it’s not even his running time! He gets up early to do a long jog to wake himself up besides drinking coffee as he doesn’t need to become a green Aizawa, it would have been something for his friends to tease him about. Not only that, many of his friends and teachers have taken to removing some things as Izuku has slowly garnered unhealthy habits along with Ochako despite the many therapy lessons about everything that has happened to them and he would see Kaachan’s heavy expression and how he threw himself to everything to distract himself from the emotional pain and the constant reminders of what he and those villains did. Izuku shakes his head, he has to remember what Hound Dog told him. He has to keep going along with the exercises and talking to him and show his improvements.

But getting back onto the questionable dream , was it a dream? It felt a lot more like what happened when he got some of the past users memories- apparently that lady wasn’t All Might’s mom but the way he spoke of Seven really gave off those vibes. Back onto the main things! Why did it feel like it was real? Like whatever that gray haired man was, he didn’t feel real but the way he saw things was from the perspective of the OFA holder who was… Himiko Toga, how? Why? How was he able to see through her perspective? Why was he able to see through her eyes? How was he moving in her body? Feeling the thundering heart beat in his ears? The rushing of blood? The smell of the ongoing battle?

The way the monster attacked and moved was not something Human and he’s pretty sure if he wasn’t seeing through Toga’s eyes then he wouldn’t be able to see the movements. Then there were the breathing forms and the way they looked! It was like a mirage or illusion quirk but that would explain the real effects some of them had! There was some burning and looked so real which means they couldn’t just be a figment of the imagination. Nothing like the quirks he has seen that needed blades to work, especially the clothing they were wearing doesn’t seem apparent of where he was but the few memories that bleed through thanks to One for All connecting them and how open one is while integrating themselves to the quirk.

Then she was in the void and he knows something happened there but it’s not hitting the spot on what exactly happened there other than offering her help and allowing her to draw on One For All’s power and the semi-carnage it caused against that Demon- Izuku blinks. Demon? That sounds like an accurate way to describe it with the murder and violence that was being raised and- and all those bodies. God there were so many dead bodies! Somewhere into the double digits. The blood and twisted remains of corpses as the streets were flooding with blood.

It was worse than a war zone, there- there’s not enough words to describe how it wrenches his stomach and makes it feel like it’s going to collapse inward from the gore-y scenes that were laid in front of him in the dream, it puts stress on his eyes and throat just thinking about what he saw, it wasn’t a dead war zone- it was still active and so many were dying for that Thing to die because it created one too many sins for itself to bear in their life. So many in fact that to atone for even one it had to die then and there before the Humans around lost their chance. That so many have dedicated their lives just to defeat this monster and the amount of centuries needed in order to kill the demon. Thus that battle - the Sunrise Countdown happening is their last chance in order to defeat that Villain - that monster.

How could anything like that be allowed to happen? Was no one able to stop it and they lost their way to power? Greed? Whatever it was it pushed him too far, too far and he’s not sure he could even save that man if he tried- he’s a Demon, not all Demons can be saved. Izuku isn’t sure, some of the memories are a bit foggy into what they share, he probably doesn’t have all of Himiko’s memories which would feel odd with how OFA has showed him a lot of the past users but that could be because some past users were mentored by each other.

He should talk to All Might about this, he’ll make breakfast for everyone first though, can’t go asking such big questions on an empty stomach and he just needs to focus on something else for a few hours, clean his mind with something nice and simple, easy to do and keep himself busy.

It wouldn’t be too long before everyone wakes up, putting on his trademark smile he greets each of them when they come down, setting a plate in front of them “Hope everyone slept well!” Izuku’s voice is nice and cheery- some would say it’s too cheery for the morning. Maybe they should have a group movie viewing later this week? That’d be nice and it’d feel nice, it’s been a few weeks since they’ve all hung out together.

He gets responses from his friends ranging in chipperness to groggy and not yet fully awake. He could never want anything more than this, they’re like his family, he cares so much for each of them even when they get into fights- families get into fights all the time right?

He pardons himself from the group to go on a walk, on that walk he’d be looking to find All Might to ask him about those vision-dreams.

Upon finding All Might he sees the hulking skeleton nursing a mug of coffee and looking like he just rolled out of bed, huh guess the dream-vision felt more real to him? Or he just got scared awake by them if the eye bags are anything to go by and Izuku- not for a lack of trying, manages to scare Yagi when he pipes up with a gentle “Uh All Might?” The man screams like a little girl sloshing the coffee in the progress before swearing as the coffee was still quite warm.

“Young Midoriya, you startled me!” Yagi places a hand over his racing heart, “What can I do for you? Did you get those dreams too?” He asks, eyes flickering around the empty staff room before ushering Midoriya to take a seat next to him.

Oh good, All Might also got those things so he finally won’t be left in the dark to try figuring things out for himself unlike every other time where he started to get quirks and All Might kinda let him flounder while he was trying to figure out more things, “Yes actually, do you know how Himiko might have gotten into the vestige world? I understand she must have had my blood but.. And I know we gave her access to the quirks but her being there? And now there’s a vestige of her in the world too.” What’s there of Himiko isn’t much- a small garden of golden spider lilies.

“I.. I do not understand how she’s entered as a vestige. I think we should go question her friends.” Yeah that makes sense to do, they’d have some kind of idea about how this happened and what she’s doing- maybe also know where she is! Unless she was sent back to the past which might be the case. Of course, they will do that after the school day is over but the entire time - Izuku couldn’t help but theorize and he slowly backs into his quirk theories and dismantling quirks for their strengths and weaknesses along with possible applications. Izuku knows Himiko is capable of taking another person’s form -  he has questions on her limits but every quirk has one. He even grabbed a notebook and has been writing in it, Kachan looks over in worry but Izuku still has his therapy sessions but seeing the quirk analytical portion of his mind surfacing without fear.

When it comes to the trip, he gets ready and is listening to Yagi about procedure but Izuku is sure that he can handle the entire encounter. The drive to Tartarus is long, and quiet- could potentially be because Izuku fell asleep in the car but who knows? Yeah, yeah that’s the reason why the drive was so quiet, Izuku naturally starts to fall asleep in cars where he feels safe and this is All Might we’re talking about so of course he’d be able to sleep well inside the car.

The security for Tartarus isn’t too heavy today, well it looks like that if you’re not looking for it, there’s a few more additions to the security because of the possibility Himiko could come back at any time and try busting out her comrade; But if the dream-visions are true then Himiko would pass from old age before she’d ever meet her family again. The checking in process wasn’t too terribly long for them as being in the hero database makes checking everything for legality purposes so much faster.

The halls all have a hospital type smell and are just as cold as a hospital, you could almost feel sympathy for the villains if not for the fact that most of them are here for terroristic acts upon the country which would have such devastating effects on the civilians and their safety.

They’re led down to where the ex-League of villains, in the little port-hole of a window they can see the group huddled up into a small circle, they look like wet cats but that’s also thanks to the clothing being large on them especially on Dabi and Tomura who especially have the wet cat look. Through the glass they’re able to hear the gaggle speaking about events happening in whatever they’re reading and whatever it is is getting quite a few reactions from the gang.

Oh boy are they going to have quite a bit of fun! So nice to hear their voices again.. That’s sarcasm, Izuku still hates to hear them or see them but he and All Might need to understand what happened to Himiko and why he saw things from her eyes. Even shivering at the memories he thought he has a deep understanding of getting over thanks to the therapy but the scars are still there and very tender.

Izuku doesn’t really remember what they had said in order to check out the manga the group is reading, holding in his own discomfort and allowing All Might to do all the talking for them, flipping through the manga they see where Himiko first appears in the story then the little adventure she goes on and slowly getting friends and then getting called a Goddess by the village people.

Her stalking another kid and following him while taking the forms of other girls. The bodies of the women and men Himiko drank from, learning some of her motives for her kills and- and well they can’t really get angry at her for killing those who take away children’s innocence cause that’s pretty fair of a punishment- All Might would disagree and say they should be held in prison with no chance of parole or getting out alive. Though, Izuku has to contemplate the time period the manga supposedly took place - during the pre-quirk era by the looks of it considering all the people she interacted with didn’t showcase anything quirk wise. Then those he thought were mutant-based quirks were squashed at being called demons and seeing their apparent weakness and penchant for eating human flesh - compared to Himiko who only drank blood because of the drawbacks of her quirk.

However, with her quirk - it’s no wonder that she was viewed as some form of Goddess - of Trickery at that matter considering the amount of chaos she always causes thanks to the blood she manages to get her hands on and drink and walk around creating confusion and exhaustion. Everyday everyone is just waiting for that shoe to drop - where she comes in and creates chaos and unleashes everything for the heroes to fight and clean up. But nothing happened, nothing but peace and the daily life of being a hero student just continued and it made Izuku nervous and fidgety along with the others.

The fact the other shoe never dropped should have been a relief but what if it dropped when they were all relaxed and getting comfortable? They could relax some but there was always a guard thrown up until Mic suggested everyone to use code words or code names to ensure that Himiko wasn’t taking one of the students forms or one of the teachers! That does work, and the students talk about it with their families to get them to also have code words so a sense of safety has been made, knowing that Himiko wouldn’t know the code words means that they’d know when or if she took their forms.

Something like a villain following after her trying to recruit her or something? Turning her into a Demon Goddess for chances to gain a strong ally and even stronger Demon. Whatever that Demon was, it was strong, apparently taking a whole night to get killed by the sun, that seems like such an easy weakness to exploit.

It’s a gut punch but in the best of ways, seeing her on a journey of healing and getting her health taken care of by people who didn’t have the same beliefs of her being evil- of her being a villain for her cravings of blood and becoming someone else in more than just skin, how she’s learning these beautiful forms of breathing and the stunning effects that come with it almost like quirks!

How she’s making another family for herself out of bonding with the kids around her age and some of the adults. The missions she goes on- one of them was, well it was the district of pretend relationships and that has a whole bad vibe to it. The mission went off with little issues, the Demon blood having been exploded off in a black goop isn’t something they had seen before nor did they know that her quirk had taken on a form inside of her that’s something they had only really thought possible inside OFA with the vestige world.

Transform seemed to have a lot of remains of blood to use to weaken Muzan before destroying the cells of him inside of her body before the possibility of her becoming a Demon got to be a risk, what would she have looked like as a Demon? Would she have burned up under the sun too? Would she become something else and if so would the ugly BBEG eat her?

Nothing super eventful happens in the- wait, no, Himiko proposed to Genya oh my! Why does that seem fast? Oh yeah, it’s cause it’s manga and also showing how Himiko’s whole thing is affecting the others and how it changes the story like Sanemi rebuilding that bridge with his little brother, How Shinobu and Giyuu are dancing around the topic of moving to something more but not shooting the idea down- has Himiko always been a matchmaker? Looking over at the ex-LoV for an explanation the nod ringing through the group gives a good answer.

The Swordsmith Village was a good read, they were prepared more for the weirdness that’d be coming with the Demons and how they’d behave but seeing two moons? How are they going to deal with that? At least Daki was described as a weaker Demon. They’re pretty engrossed in the story and what comes next and how they’ll handle everything, it’s not until the infinity fortress do they understand how Himiko got into the vestige world with her taking Ochako’s appearance and quirk- making the upper moon and things surrounding him float and lose any solid footing he had.

And to round out the fights there was the final stand against Muzan, so many people got hurt or lost their lives, so much bloodshed that the Demon tried using to heal himself but that’s when Himiko in Izuku’s form comes in like a literal God, holding Muzan off and weakening him making him easier to exterminate and that extermination comes with the Death of all of his Demons- Yuichiro and the cat are still alive.

Izuku exhales, once finishing the manga that is still increasing in size thanks to the power of the quirk that affects it - does he return it. A weight is off of his shoulders and something in him - content? Yeah, he is content with the answer of what has happened to Himiko and how long do they have to worry about her being in the story- if she comes out? Cause it looks like she’s not gonna come out any time soon, maybe not at all if it’s like a one time offered thing a “ Take your pick. ” kind of thing and she’s made her pick to stay in a world where she’s happy and has her freedom, a world she knows her family would have wanted her to have- preferably one with all of them but they’re still with Himiko in the form of her memories and feelings.

The manga had become Himiko’s Tale, a story of her achievements and progress towards a happy ending.

====

Birds are singing, bugs are humming, the sun is streaming in through the windows and opened curtains. It’s a warm day, a nice day even! Something that should be enjoyed sitting under the sakura trees but Genya’s inside sitting by Himiko who hasn’t woken up yet, she’s not in a coma- Shinobu suggests it’s from the stress of her transformation and using those quirks.

He’s been by every day since the night they arrived to check on Himiko and the slayers too injured to start moving, actually any of them that could move or were discharged early would come by to visit everyone and leave them gifts. Sanemi hasn’t woken up yet but he’s also the one who nearly lost his guts! Genya visits him as much as he visits Himiko, Himiko’s said to wake up soon but it’s already been a few days and he’s getting antsy because he knows Sanemi’s going to wake up! He’s really strong and has the determination to power through it but he’s still worried for Sanemi, he’s worried for everyone important to him.

Since that day Shinobu and Giyuu have tied the knot but plan to have the ceremony once everyone’s doing better, Giyuu’s also officially become a big brother to the Kamado’s and their two friends, that’s wonderful for him! He’s also been smiling more like a weight’s been taken off of him. Giyuu’s been buying nice things for Nezuko as a Thank You for fixing his Haori so well that it looks like it didn’t even get ripped up, of course he’s not ignoring the others! He’s buying them just as nice things or just as useful things.

Obanai and Mitsuri have gotten married, only one small thing was different- Obanai took Mitsuri’s last name instead of her taking his. Kabarumaru slithered up Mitsuri’s arm to give her face a little nuzzle during the exchanging of kisses, getting Mitsuri to squeal and give Kabarumaru his own little kisses. They’re both pretty injured from the fight but they just need to come in for regular check ups to ensure they’ll be alright.

Tengen, his wives, and the Rengoku’s leave gifts for Himiko and Genya that’d be practical for when they live together like cookware and housewarming gifts. Tengen joked that Genya shouldn’t be too rough on their first night together getting some light slaps from the wives. It’s the next time one of the wives comes in that he actually notices that Suma’s pregnant! Holly crap, when did that happen? Oh right Tengen has been retired for at least a month or so before the war but he would have noticed the baby bump if it was that old so this means it’s a recent development, congratulations!!

Akaza’s griping in his room, having just woken up and getting sunlight directly streamed into his eyes- WAIT! Why is he not burning?! That gets him to sit straight up and instantly regret it as his brain feels like it’s swelling up and he has to slowly lay back down and take stock of what’s around him and how his body’s feeling like it lost something and gained another thing. What happened? He’s not a Demon anymore and that’s something he knows as he should have died if the sun was hitting him, but how did he get turned Human? Was it with whatever stabbed him? That’s the most likely answer and has a lot more reason for being what did this. Why did they turn him Hum? Couldn’t they have just used it on the one person needed? Though it’d have been better to use it on someone else to see what the effects would have been that immediately on who they wanted to.

It’s about a few minutes after he wakes up that he gets greeted by Kyojuro “Good Morning! I’ll retrieve your breakfast!” With that the door’s closed again and there’s the thuds of footsteps leaving and then returning with a tray of vegetables, some meat to the side, rice, and soup.

Akaza… Akaza pushes the meat to the side, it’d feel odd to eat it.. He’s been a Demon for so long all he can qualify meat too is Human and he’s not sure that’d be a good thing? If he’s Human he shouldn’t see Humans as meat, right? Yeah, it’d be too similar to Humans, he’s not sure he’ll ever be able to eat meat again, he knows for the foreseeable future that he won’t be able to. Though that just means he has his own personal demons to face thanks to the cure and living his life as a human once more - He really didn’t think he’d be Human, he thought he’d go to Hell or maybe see his father or master or Koyuki before going to Hell but nope, he’s alive- alive and has to battle his Demons, that’s going to be a long and shaky road ahead of him, and he’s going to be along in it too isn’t he?

Kanao has started a proper date with Tanjiro, going to places that she liked even when her heart was closed, the sights are nice or often have a lot of cats coming by and Kanao tells Tanjiro the name of each one- she’s better at naming than Shinobu ever will be. Kanao talks about her want to see more places with Tanjiro and that she’d be happy to have Tanjiro’s siblings come along with them as that could make the travels fun!

Aoi has almost repeatedly caught Inosuke when he comes in to snatch food which has impacted how he feels about her cause she’s gotta be really strong if she’s able to know he’s there without even needing to look around! So now this has become a game for him to see how much he can get without her attention or how close he can get to drop off acorns without her noticing, does he always get far with it? No, but that just means he needs to get better at approaching her without her noticing. This’ll go one before Inosuke’s finally able to get an acorn in Aoi’s pockets! Letting out a cheer he states this means they’ll be going on a date, Aoi sputtered saying she’ll think about it once everyone’s gotten their lunch.

When Himiko wakes up she groans and slams her eyes shut at the strain on the light and her pounding headache, moving under the covers of the bed she can feel the IV needle tug in her arm- the IV is giving her needed liquids while she was out from an over use of her quirk. She regrets moving as she shoots her head off the bed to vomit, the body aches and headaches hurt so much and moving just aggravated it! God, at least this means Muzan died right? Otherwise she’d be dead, eaten, or maybe a Demon which are not very good options! Though it’s clear that none of those happened for a multitude of reasons, one of which being the fact she’s alive right now and that she’s feeling the warmth of the sunlight through the bed.

“Are you alright?” Whatever was in Genya’s hands has been forgotten to move Himiko’s hair out of the way and to rub soothing circles on her back. When she’s done with moving things out Genya helps her drink a nice cool cup of water “You’ve been out for a while y’know? If it wasn’t exhaustion I’d have thought it was something else.” He gives a half chuckle as he uses a towel to wipe the sweat from Himiko’s head.

“Y-Yeah, I think I’m alright? What about everyone else?” Her voice is still hoarse but gets better with the more she drinks, taking a few minutes to look around the room and take sight of everything she notes a few things of importance; cookware, clothing, fresh blood, cards, a lot of flowers, and stuffed animals. Is that all thanks for her help? It’s so generous of them, her heart feels like it’s blowing up in size! They really didn’t have to do any of this, but they did and it feels so nice.

Genya smiles, stating that everyone is okay and that most of them are already out and enjoying their new lives and that they’ve been coming back to check out how Himiko’s doing- Himiko asks how long she’s been out “Only a few days, just long enough for Obanai and Mitsuri to get married.” Himiko gasps, giving her congratulations to the couple before asking about Shinobu and Giyuu and learning they’ve got a wedding planned but were waiting for everyone to be in a condition to join.

Himiko’s so excited! She wants to see her friends get married and see those cute smiles they’ve all got! Seeing and smelling all that love! Ah it’d be so perfect, and the after party where they can wish the two good luck in their new lives, she’s vibrating in her excitement, she’s never been to a wedding before- well not like properly invited to one but when she was disguised as other people she could sneak into one and see everything while also getting some food.

She’ll need to stay here for a bit more time but she’s got a pretty clean bill of health! It’s a good day to be out, the sun has been looking brighter since Muzna’s death and the nights no longer look as dark- metaphorically. Would she look good in a traditional bride’s gown? Or would a western bride gown be good? But a traditional one is so cute too! And is probably more respectful to the times and to her friends plus western ones are a lot more lacy and rippable.

===

Shinobu announces she and Tomioka have had kids..? They- she already birthed them? That gets the group coming to check and.. Shinobu you air-head, they thought they had Human babies, they adopted injured crows. It’s probably nice for the birds to have such a nice estate to fly around in and they’ll be well taken care of, once Shinobu got a camera everyone would be sent pictures of Tomioka having birds laying all over him almost like how cats would.

The two will likely not have actual children, Giyuu said it would be cruel to leave Shinobu as a single mother and instead they should hope to meet again in their next life to have a proper family and they can have a slower and more fulfilling life like that. It’s so cute that Himiko couldn’t help but squeal over it - is this how those young adult romance novels are written about soulmates?! If so, she may get in on that before thanks to all the things she is a witness to and the amount of people she has to pretend to be. Though, it’s been so long since she has actually written anything - the last time she did was for school work and that was soo boring! And soo long ago!

Senjuro sends photos of his brother and Akaza growing closer- oh my! That’s wonderful to see. One of the letters sent to Senjuro asks if Akaza and Kyojuro are going to get married, his family will be wondering why he screamed and why his face is that red.

Mitsuri and Obanai return to Mitsuri’s hometown and find work there, sending letters to everyone and letting them know how they’re handling things and updates on their lives, returning often to Shinobu’s estate for medical checkups and often spending time with the Rengoku’s. Mitsuri’s family knew what she was doing and are happy she’s returned home alive and with some good friends to introduce to the family, her family saying that she could have lived with them and didn’t need to marry anyone- what kind parents, and Mitsuri’s siblings will drop questions about scars if either of the two look uncomfortable.

Mitsuri and Obanai got help with their photos, photos of them spending time with Mitsuri’s family and the cats loving on Obanai’s lil snake friend, Kabaru doesn’t like the cats though well not really? He likes them in the sense that they’re warm but nothing else!

Shinobu nearly gets in a fight with Tanjiro when she hears that Kanao’s pregnant, it was scary! The small woman was possessed by the spirits of a protective older sister and well if she hadn’t been held back she’d have at least toppled Tanjiro over but thanks to her size she wouldn’t have been able to do any real physical damage. Tanjirio should thank his lucky stars that Shinobu didn’t have the muscle strength to even strangle him even with her breathing technique but he should be careful with what he drinks or eats to be on the safe side. Tanjirio does marry Kanao - so Shinobu shouldn’t be that vengeful and protective as an older sister.

Shinobu practically bursts into tears once seeing Kanao’s getting closer to her due date, she’s going to be an aunty! She’s not ready for Kanao to be a mother! All because Sun breathing is super important with the whole What if? Possibility of Demons coming back when the blue spider lily is found and needing to keep up a strong breathing form to be passed down.

Thankfully Kanao has some good people to help her around when she’s pregnant or if the baby starts to overstimulate her nerves, she’s been working on it and it shouldn’t be that bad anymore, Kanao shouldn’t shut down when she gets overstimulated but it’s a possibility as baby’s require a lot of attention and tending to.

Once more people had gotten cameras there’d be more photos being shared, took time to deliver them to people and for the crows to find the people but it’s still a nice convenient thing so they don’t get jumpscared by a new member to the family, Uzui’s the most guilty about this having sent out mass photos of his wives and their kids- it’s a sort of small family when you take into account his three wives, you’d think he’d have more.

Gyomei’s busy taking care of cats and has almost given Mitsuri a new cat the last time he visited but instead gave Mitsuri’s little siblings a cat. Thankfully not all the cats will be living under the same house even though the house is pretty big.

Sanemi keeps semi-regular contact, he’d been trying to write but losing fingers makes writing hard and not always having paper or ink around. He’s been exploring the country trying to find a nice place to settle down, one that wouldn’t be painfully far from his family but also one that feels just right for him and his charge- he’s basically adopted Muichiro as far as anyone is really concerned and Mui has no issues with it, well Mui’s swordsmith has a bit of an issue with this and tried fighting Sanemi about who become Muichiro’s parents. But the two seem very good at balancing each other out and thanks to Sanemi’s experience of being an older brother it was rather simple to accomplish.

Mui takes some really random photos while Sanemi’s taking pictures of him and Mui at new locations and cities, there is exactly one time Sanemi’s blushing in one of the photos and the explanation for that is he and a pretty woman had a really nice conversation, Muichiro’s thinking the two might get to talking more and that something will happen.

Genya’s and Himiko’s wedding night was painted a pretty shade of passion and love between them, the culmination of their love making happens not too long after with Himiko waking up queasy. She didn’t think it’d happen that fast but y’know? Life is filled with surprises! She’ll take it day by day and if Genya passed out at the news? That’s between her, Genya, and their crows who decided to stick around after the corps was disbanded. Thankfully, Himiko can always rely on Genya when it comes to her need for blood thanks to her quirk’s drawback but others visiting always pitches in as well to help take the stress off of Genya.

She’s excited to have the baby and wanted to rush and tell everyone immediately but was convinced they should give it time to make sure it wasn’t a false alarm- like Himiko just got sick in the morning? Pphhss, no way! Okay maybe he has a point. Himiko is relying on that woman’s intuition pretty hard but she is going to wait just for Genya’s sake as he may not be ready for Sanemi’s intervention.

Yeah, it was too early for that, she got too excited and thought the false alarm was true sadly, but she wants to start a family with Genya! Maybe they could adopt a dog for now? It’s basically like a child except they’d never be able to talk, and they’re more work, especially training the dog but family’s family! Her husband, a dog, and a kid are the perfect size for an immediate family but if you add in the friends and Genya’s bro then it’s an even better sized family!

It’s just a few more months, maybe a year before Genya brings up the idea that they could try for a kid! Himiko’s already got names for the kid if they’re a girl; The first name? The name her little sister had before she became lost. If it’s a male then she wants to give her son the name of one of her big brothers, she won’t be able to see them so this is the best alternative- but who first? They’re all equal to her! Jin, the first boy will be named Jin, he was one of the first people she met besides Giran- while the brooker is like family he’s also not super close, he’s more close to Jin.

Shinobu will be sending out the photos once Himiko’s kid is out and given the normal run down to make sure they’re doing fine, Sanemi and Mui are the third group to arrive purely because the Uzui’s and Rengoku family were closer by. Sanemi’s talents for getting babies to calm down should be considered godly! The baby’s a bit fussy on who can hold her and by that the baby is a daddy’s girl, Himiko’s only playfully huffing about it “I carried and nurtured you for nine months and you’re a daddy’s girl? Fair enough, Genya’s gonna be an amazing dad to you.” She says with a tired but sweet smile.

Their kid is beautiful, growing up she’s healthy and pretty normal looking- well if you ignore the sharp teeth and cat like pupils, her purple eyes go so well with her blonde hair. She hasn’t shown any kind of quirk impulses, Himiko had small ones before she developed her quirk where she took a big interest in the color red which as a small child doesn’t mean much until the quirk needs come in. But as the infamous age of four draws closer, she has her child in her sights like a hawk much to Genya’s confusion and concern. When some family friends came for her fourth birthday, Himiko fidgets as many watch her behavior and Shinobu recalls what she has been hereditary and looks at their child with a scientific observation. It starts the morning of her little girl’s fourth birthday. Early signs of its quick and rapid reveal.

It starts with their girl complaining of tooth pain and her mouth feeling sensitive because of said pain, their first thought is that she needs blood like Himiko- hopefully if the child isn’t deprived of it early in their growth it means they won’t be as quick to hunger. That’s a small part of their child’s quirk but not the main thing as she keeps talking about tooth pain, it’s not baby teeth wiggling and it can’t be a cavity as the child knows how to brush and floss. But so far it seems her baby girl doesn’t need to drink blood or showing signs of thirsting for it like Himiko did or desiring for its nutrients. However, that wasn’t needed as she showed no signs of drinking it but Himiko is still watchful and fidgeting over everything that came with her daughter hitting the age of four.

There were small hints as their kid was growing up that she has a quirk but it’s only once she hits four years old and the quirk factor really kicks in - Himiko didn’t know why but she thought because of her generation of getting a quirk, her family's history, and the fact that Genya and everyone else in this pre-quirk era then maybe their child wouldn’t inherit the gene or it might skip generations. No, the surprise was when everyone was setting up the table and the children went outside to play for a bit before returning to enjoy the birthday festivities. That is, until the children return and Himiko’s eyes zeroes in and her posture freezes.

“Look! Look!” Her daughter presents an injured bird, the scene replaying in Himiko’s mind of her own quirk coming in as the other adults look over. Fangs much like Himiko’s own sinking into the bird and the room became still. But rather than a dead, limp bird - it moved even more, the noticeable injuries healing and as she removed her mouth the bird tweets and moves its wings and looks all over the place. Himiko’s breath hitches, there are signs of blood but it’s leaking from her daughter's own fangs and Genya looks between them in worry. “My bite heals them!” she exclaims in excitement, smiling wide with her purple eyes gleaming. Himiko moved without thinking, coming closer and taken in the scene even more and she couldn’t stop the tears as she pulled her daughter close for a hug as the bird flew away. She is confused, worried that she harmed her mother that freely cried. Himiko picks up her daughter, choosing to take a seat.

“Now Aika, let me tell you of the place that momma came from…” Himiko starts, the best way to explain her daughter’s wonderful quirk - it still involves blood but rather than taking it, she gives it and heals people with a bite. The birthday party went in a strange direction as the form slayers listened with rapt attention, the children as well with bright eyes about the strange places of towering concrete buildings with glass and unique people walking all around the place. Of Heroes and Villains - an analogy of Gods and Goddesses and those that looked like Yokai’s and monsters interacting in peace or conflict. Himiko speaks with a small smile, even about her own crimes and then coming here as she runs her fingers through her sweet daughter Aika’s blonde locks.

Himiko’s tale had everyone’s attention, the place she comes from sounds so unreal and so interesting, they wouldn’t have done well in her world but she and anyone from her world would have had a fruitful life here. It would have been chaotic to meet Himiko’s siblings but it sounds like it would have been interesting to, likely would have been really hard to get along with some of them but they would have worked it out somehow.

Notes:

K: So this took longer than expected but life is a lot, we’re grateful for everyone who waited and stood by us, you guys are amazing!!K: Part of what was taking so long- besides the pandemic y’know- was we had also been getting ideas for new fics an Somebody got me into Blue Exorcist lol
C: Originally this fic was set to be finished in February 2022 but as you can tell two years and two months later is when it’s completed. May also create a few more artworks for the fic but no set date or finalized ideas as of yet considering the Cover Art for the fic was rather an idea boost.
C: While yes i’m guilty of influencing new story ideas and showing the unique world of Blue Exorcist with a possible fic coming since we did a complete notes breakdown and everything.
K: literally every character in BE is drawn far too cutely so of course I got sucked into reading the whole manga in like two-ish days? About as long as Demon Slayer took me
C: Also, we may have a possible crossover between Ah no Exorcist and JJK so that may be out soon thanks to that entire notes done. Also, the crossover between Undertale and My Hero Academia may be rewritten as we didn’t really have a plot or story plan for it and so far we are rather unsatisfied with it so that story is on hiatus until the rewrite is done and we will start replacing old chapters.
C: I have started to place my foot down when it comes to my co-writer (main author I am beta-ing) and reigning in her more unhinged and chaotic writing nature to try to make the story more fluid and understandable.
K: Yeah lol, like when I get an idea sometimes I don’t like fill in how I got from one thing to the next so it’s really good my co-writer has me on the toddler leash lamoooo, also she helps a lot with making sure the characters are mentioned cause sometimes I can go too far into just conversations and forget everything else around and that time doesn’t stop when ya talking to someone else
C: Yeah, but thank you fellow readers for bearing with us until this story is finished and possibly waiting on our other WIPs.
K: So many WIPs, so so many beautiful stories lol
C: Lol, okay see everyone in the comments and future chapters for other WIPs! Bye!
K: Many good writings to you all!
