Baby, I'm In Control

Chapter Text

“Jimin, would you like to come with us later?”

“We’re gonna hang out at this good coffee place across the street.”

“Sure,” Jimin replies with a friendly smile and the two omegas almost squeal with delight.

“Cool! See you later!”

Watching the two cute omega ladies walk away and elbow each other with flushed cheeks, Jimin lets out a fond chuckle and puts his books back into his bag.

“You’re really popular with the omegas, Jimin,” Hoseok, his best friend and senior of one year, comments.

“Of course I am.” Jimin smirks. “I’m Alpha Park.”

“As an omega,” one of his classmates starts as they all hang out in the grandstand near the oval. “I can say that I am totally attracted to your scent because it’s quite strong, you know. Like freshly cut grass.”

“I’m a beta so I can smell no shit.” Hoseok throws his hands up.

Laughing, Jimin answers, “The omegas I know often say that.”

“Oh, hey. It’s that cute omega from the Music Department.”

“His name’s Jaewon, right?”

“Yeah.”

Jimin’s attention turns toward the omega guy walking beside the oval and carrying a bag of pastries. The guy is a second-year student like Jimin and he’s pretty popular with the alphas around the campus.

He has blond hair and a small pretty face, a petite body and a plump round ass. Totally an attractive omega. Jimin would be lying if he says he’s not having the hots for him.

“Oh, damn.” One of the alphas in Jimin’s group whistles. “It’s Alpha Min huh.”

At the mention of that name, Jimin’s brow twitches and his gaze instantly finds that one familiar annoying presence that he couldn’t shake off his hair no matter how much he wanted to.

Jaewon stops to talk to the alpha who’s just heading out of the oval. The alpha takes off his earphones to listen to the omega and from this distance, Jimin can’t make out a word they’re saying but from the looks of it, Jaewon is having fun chatting with the man.

“Min Yoongi is a popular one too, isn’t he?” Hoseok comments with a chuckle when he sees the frown on Jimin’s face.

And when the omega takes out a bag of pastries and offers it to the alpha, blush high in his round pale cheeks, Jimin tuts and shoves his books a bit more forcefully into his bag than he intended to.

Hoseok snorts beside him. “Why are you always in a bad mood around Yoongi?”

“Because I can’t stand his presence.” Jimin huffs.

“But you said you’ve known each other since you were kids and used to go home together.”

Jimin’s eye twitches at the memory of his childhood days with that annoying other alpha. “Because we live next to each other. Unfortunately.”

“Yeah, right.” Hoseok rolls his eyes at him. “You’re friends even if you hate to admit it.”

“We’re not,” Jimin spits out as if the mere thought of being friends with Min Yoongi is like poison to his mind. “He’s annoying and an asshole. He snatched away an omega from me when we were in high school. I’ll never forgive him.”

“But you said that omega liked Yoongi.”

“He did. But he liked me too.”

Hoseok snorts. “Sounds like a cheating bitch to me.”

“Yoongi entertained him, that bastard.” Jimin lets out an irritated breath and glares at the unknowing alpha. “He just wanted to piss me off and show me he’s the better alpha.”

Ever since they were little, there has been this petty competition between them. They rile each other up, take any chance to piss each other off, and show the other who’s the better alpha.

Perhaps it’s Jimin’s alpha pride talking but he won’t accept Yoongi ever beating him over anything. Especially when it comes to courting cute omegas.

Maybe that’s why he’s ticked off by the fact that a popular pretty omega from Yoongi’s department is flirting with Jimin’s archnemesis. His alpha pride is taking the blow and he suddenly wants to punch the other guy’s nose in.

“Whoa, you’re releasing some scary pheromones right now, Park,” Woosik, an alpha, says with a laugh, patting Jimin’s shoulder. “You like that pretty omega?”

“Who?” Jimin blinks at him.

“Jaewon. You’re being kinda territorial right now.” Woosik smirks. “Wanna beat up Alpha Min?”

“Fuck off, man.” Jimin swats the alpha’s hand away and the latter guffaws.

“I’m kidding, jeez. Chill.”

“It’s not because of that cute omega,” Hoseok says casually and both Jimin and Woosik look at him with perplexed expressions on their faces.

But when Jimin asked him what the hell he was talking about, Hoseok just flashed him a knowing grin and said, “Heh. I wonder.”

“Jimin, I thought I told you not to pick a fight with Yoongi.”

Jimin winced as his mother cleaned the scratch on his right knee with antiseptic.

“Did you punch him?”

Jimin remained silent because yes, he did punch that stupid alpha next door.

He heard his mother sigh and say, “I know you boys don’t get along well a lot of times. But he’s still your hyung, okay sweetie? Be respectful.”

“But he pushed me!” Jimin protested with a frown. “I’m his dongsaeng! He shouldn’t hurt me!”

“Well, you punched him.” Jimin's mother flicked his forehead a little hard and the kid yelped, covering the sore spot with both hands. “He could’ve punched you back but he didn’t because you’re younger.”

Putting a clean bandage on the wound, Mrs. Park scolded lightly, “I know you’re an alpha, sweetheart, but a good alpha doesn’t go running around and punching people. You have to say sorry to Yoongi, okay?”

“But mooooom!”

His mother clicked her tongue. “No buts, young man.”

Jimin’s mom ushered him to the house next door to apologize to Yoongi. The older alpha had an adhesive bandage plastered across the bridge of his nose and a piece of cotton stuffed into his left nostril.

At the sight of dried blood on the white cotton, Jimin immediately felt guilty but his alpha pride wouldn’t let him show it. Instead, he uttered a barely audible sorry to Yoongi and the older alpha’s parents let out a laugh.

“Our little Jimin is a tough one,” Mrs. Min commented with an amused smile.

Mr. Min placed his hand on Yoongi’s head and forced the kid’s head to bow down in apology. “Our son is sorry for pushing his dongsaeng like that.”

“Sorry,” Yoongi said quietly.

Jimin’s mother laughed with a dismissive hand. “It’s fine! Yoongi and Jimin are tough young alphas. Kids fight all the time; it couldn’t be helped.”

Then, the Min household invited Jimin and his mother over for dinner, and Jimin was forced to sit beside Yoongi for the rest of the night.

The next day, Jimin was surprised to see Yoongi standing by the doorway of their home, backpack strapped on both shoulders as he talked to his mom with a small smile on his lips.

“Oh, dear.” Mrs. Park laughed fondly as she touched her cheek. “Jimin, sweetie. Your hyung’s here to walk you to school.”

“What?!” Jimin exclaimed. “I don’t want to walk with him!”

“Come on now.” His mother frowned at him, a reprimanding look on her face. “Yoongi is being a responsible hyung. Behave and be good to him, Jimin.”

Jimin couldn’t do anything but pout and obey his mother’s words. He was walking in front of Yoongi and the silence was making him more irritated. He really couldn’t stand Yoongi’s presence; maybe it was his still developing alpha instinct, or maybe not.

There was just something about the older that ticked him off and Jimin didn’t like it one bit.

“Jimin.”

The eight-year-old alpha’s brow twitched as they stopped before the crosswalk. “What?” he spat out.

“Can you cross the street?” Yoongi asked beside him.

“Of course, I can!”

A snort came out of Yoongi’s nose and the older said, “Hold my hand.”

“I don’t want to.”

When the traffic light turned red and the green pedestrian symbol began moving, Yoongi let out a sigh and reached for Jimin’s hand to drag him across the street.

“Hey!” Jimin protested but let himself be pulled towards the opposite side of the road.

Once standing on the sidewalk, Yoongi let go of Jimin’s hand and looked at him to say, “I’ll walk with you to school until you can cross the street safely on your own. I’m your hyung so I have to look out for you.”

“I don’t need you to take care of me.” Jimin pouted. “I’m an alpha.”

“I’m an alpha too,” Yoongi replied, tilting his head slightly to the side. “But I’m older by two years.”

Ten-year-old Yoongi was taller than Jimin, perhaps a bit wiser due to his slightly older age or because Yoongi just preferred to read books and watch the news unlike other boys of his age.

They continued to walk to school together every day even after Jimin had learned how to cross the street on his own. No one said anything about it and up until now, Jimin wondered why.

When they entered high school, that was the time when some things became different. They didn’t walk to school together anymore and both of them had their own group of friends. But one thing still remained the same: Yoongi and Jimin are neighbors and their families are close to each other.

Almost every weekend, the Min and Park families shared meals with each other and even though Jimin didn’t really like seeing Yoongi even on his off-day from school, he was forced to attend the mini-reunion regardless of his protests.

Jimin’s parents sometimes even invited the older alpha over for lunch or dinner so over the years, Jimin had learned to just suck it up and let things be. To be honest, Yoongi became a lot quieter and nicer when he became a teenager but both of them still continued to quarrel from time to time.

Jimin liked teasing Yoongi and the older alpha had probably developed a habit of pushing Jimin’s buttons where it annoyed him the most.

Even though Jimin wouldn’t last one second without arguing with Yoongi, the older alpha’s presence became a constant thing in his life and he found out that he didn’t really despise it one bit.

That realization alone was the one that irked Jimin up because as an alpha, how could he think of his childhood ‘nemesis’ like that?

As they grew up and their bodies became more developed and mature, Jimin began to discern people’s scents and Yoongi’s wasn’t something that he wanted to deal with in a million years.

“Jimin, sweetheart?”

Jimin looks up from tying up his shoelace to his mother standing behind him. She gives Jimin a wrapped Tupperware containing some leftover tteokbokki from last night. “Can you give this to Yoongi?”

Jimin grimaces. “Mom, you can just give it to him later when he comes home from university.”

“Nonsense.” Mrs. Park dismisses his son’s protest. “He wasn’t able to have dinner with us last night because he stayed overnight at a friend’s house.”

“Mom, what if people misunderstand and think we’re dating?” Jimin laments and his mother laughs.

“Let them.” Mrs. Park clasps her hands and smiles at Jimin. “Wouldn’t that be wonderful? Yoongi is a kind and capable alpha. He’ll be good for you.”

“Mom, stop it.” Jimin lets out an exasperated sigh and pushes himself up on his feet, tapping the tip of his shoe against the floor. “I’m not interested in alphas. And Yoongi’s not ‘kind.’”

“You’re just telling that to yourself.” Jimin’s mom kisses his cheek. “Take care on your way and don’t forget to invite Yoongi tonight for dinner. Your dad’s cooking.”

Jimin couldn’t do anything but let out a troubled sigh.

“What are we doing here again?” Hoseok asks with both hands inside his pocket, staring at Jimin with an amused expression on his face as his best friend looks like he’s having an existential crisis in the university’s cafeteria at twelve in the afternoon.

“My mom asked me to give this shit to Yoongi.” Jimin sighs.

“Then go, I guess?”

Jimin tuts and curses under his breath before he proceeds to open the cafeteria door. Yoongi is sitting with two other people: Namjoon and Jin, whom he recognizes. Those two are the older alpha’s friends and have been hanging around with him since Yoongi started college.

The two also went to Yoongi’s house on multiple occasions before so Jimin isn’t really a stranger to them. They’ve interacted enough to say they’re more than acquaintances but probably a little less than friends. Despite the gap, Jimin weirdly feels comfortable around them.

“Hi.”

The conversation gets interrupted when Jimin approaches them. “Oh, hey, Jimin.” Namjoon perks up.

“Hey.” Jin’s smile turns into a smirk when he shifts his attention to Yoongi. “Your boyfriend’s here.”

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Jimin and Yoongi simultaneously say.

Jimin looks visibly appalled and Yoongi seems annoyed by his friend’s remark.

Namjoon and Jin give out a laugh while Hoseok snorts beside Jimin.

Irked, the younger alpha drops the Tupperware in front of Yoongi. “Leftover tteokbokki from last night. Mom told me to give it to you.”

“Ah.” Yoongi unwraps the cloth and opens the lid of the container, a small smile tugging one corner of his lips. “Tell your mom thank you.”

Jimin hums and nods once.

“Jimin, why don’t you and your friend join us for lunch?” Jin offers and Yoongi and Jimin open their mouths to refuse but Hoseok puts his arm over his best friend and grins.

“Sure! Thanks for inviting us. Right, Jimin?” Hoseok’s smile makes Jimin narrow his eyes at him. His best friend is up to something with that suspicious smile and the younger doesn’t like it one bit.

Maybe the universe is playing with Jimin and is geared toward testing his patience today because somehow, he ends up sitting beside Yoongi as the three others sit across from them.

Hoseok is looking at Jimin with a shitty smile on his smug face and Yoongi’s friends aren’t any different. What the fuck are these guys up to?

“I’m gonna buy our lunch, Jimin. Anything specific you want?” his best friend asks, standing up from the chair.

“Pasta,” Jimin responds.

As he watches Hoseok walk toward the counter, Jimin hears a voice saying, “Hey.”

He lets out an annoyed sigh before looking beside him with a frown. “What?”

Used to Jimin’s shitty mood, Yoongi casually ignores it and proceeds to slide a box of takoyaki toward him. “Want some?”

The thing is, Jimin fucking loves takoyaki and if given the chance, he won’t give it up for anything… even if it’s coming from his ‘archnemesis.’

And the second thing is, Yoongi knows it. If the small smirk on his face is any indication.

With a glare, Jimin grabs a toothpick and shoves a piece into his mouth, making the older alpha chuckle and eat a piece for himself.

Jimin is already on his third takoyaki when Hoseok comes back carrying his tuna pesto pasta. Breaking the wooden chopsticks apart, Jimin mentions, “Mom wants you to come over for dinner tonight.”

“M’kay,” Yoongi replies nonchalantly as he chews on a piece of boneless chicken.

A high-pitched laugh airs from the opposite seat and the alphas’ eyes lift up from their food. “Are you sure you guys are enemies? You look more like you’re boyfriends because of how natural it is, having dinners and spending time with your families.”

“It just happened this annoying guy lives next door.” Jimin points a thumb at Yoongi. “I’m not interested in alphas; I prefer cute omegas.”

He hears a snort coming from Yoongi and Jimin pauses to glare daggers at him. “What?”

The older shrugs and utters nothing before proceeding to eat his chicken.

“I hate you,” Jimin huffs with an eye roll.

“Sure. I hate you too.” Yoongi fishes out his phone to look at the clock on his lock screen. “What time are you out today?”

“Five, why?”

“I wanna drop by the bakery to buy a cake for your mom. Help me?”

Jimin grunts fine before waving a dismissive hand at Yoongi.

Across the table, Hoseok says “cute omegas, huh” and Jin lets out an amused snort.

“Auntie likes chocolate mousse, right?”

Jimin nods as his eyes browse through the rack of cakes and pastries in the shop. The older alpha talks to the staff behind the display counter and points at the largest mousse cake. Digging into his wallet, he takes out a few bills and places them on the counter.

Jimin waits by the door with both hands in his pockets. This isn’t the first time that Yoongi asked him for help to buy a gift or treat for his parents. He doesn’t know why Yoongi bothers to bring something every time he comes over; it’s not like it’s mandatory for him to always bring stuff.

It’s courtesy towards his parents, yeah. That much Jimin is aware of. But the thing is…

“Here.”

Jimin blinks at the box of cupcakes that Yoongi is offering to him. Taking the box carefully, he asks, “What’s this for?”

“For you, because you don’t like chocolate mousse,” the elder says and opens the door of the shop, holding it open for Jimin as well.

See? Jimin doesn’t know why Yoongi always goes out of his way to buy Jimin stuff like this. It’s been going on for quite some time now and it baffles the younger alpha why his hyung is acting like this. The other thing is, his parents seem to tolerate Yoongi’s odd behavior.

“I told you, you don’t have to look out for me just because you’re two years older.” Jimin frowns as they walk to the train station. “I’m completely capable of buying stuff for myself.”

Yoongi glances at him briefly before letting out a sigh. “I know you can. I didn’t say otherwise.”

That was all Yoongi said before the conversation naturally died down. That’s another thing that changed about Yoongi; he used to quarrel with Jimin all the time when they were little up until the final year of high school.

But when they entered college, the older alpha became more cool-headed and developed resistance for tolerating Jimin’s bullshit a lot longer. It irks Jimin sometimes because it makes him feel like he’s the one being petty and immature.

Even though he hates to admit it, he kinda enjoys his little arguments with Yoongi.

“Oh, dear. You came together!” Mrs. Park says gleefully while holding her right cheek.

Standing by the door and bowing his head once in greeting, Yoongi speaks, “Thank you for inviting me over.”

Mrs. Park chuckles. “I cooked your favorite hot pot.”

The older alpha smiles and offers the box of cake to her. “Thank you, auntie. Here, in exchange for that delicious tteokbokki.”

“Oh my.” Mrs. Park beams as she takes the treat. “You’re such a thoughtful alpha, Yoongi. Thank you.”

“Are you both done wooing each other? Can we go in now, mom?” Jimin says with a sigh.

Jimin’s omega mom huffs at him. “Brat. You’re lucky Yoongi is here to take care of you.”

“I don’t need him to take care of me.”

“Whatever you say, sweetheart.” Mrs. Park waves at him dismissively and grabs Yoongi’s arm to drag him inside the house. His mom really gets overly excited whenever Yoongi’s visiting their home. More so, these past few months.

It’s weird because even on weekends, he sees Yoongi lounging around their backyard and helping his dad fix some contraptions, or he’s in the kitchen helping Jimin’s mom bake something.

Sometimes, Yoongi comes over to play video games with Jihyun, Jimin’s little brother, because he’s just “next door and bored” just like what Yoongi once said to Jimin when the younger alpha asked him why he’s been coming over a lot lately.

Mr. Park and Jihyun are already seated behind the dinner table when Jimin enters the room. Placing the box of cupcakes on the table, he hears his father ask, “You bought cupcakes?”

Jimin shakes his head and takes the seat beside his brother. “No, Yoongi gave it to me.”

“I see.” His alpha father hums and smiles afterward. “Thoughtful guy. Must be nice to be his mate.”

Okay, Jimin’s family has always been so fond of Yoongi ever since they were kids, but lately, his parents have been too loose with their praises towards the older alpha, and Jimin’s starting to freak out a little because of it.

“Unfortunate soul, whoever his mate will be,” Jimin scoffs.

“Hey, you’re badmouthing me again?”

The younger alpha rolls his eyes at Yoongi as the man emerges from the kitchen with his mom, holding a steaming hot pot and carefully placing it in the center of the table.

The older alpha sits across from Jimin beside his mom, grabbing his chopsticks and letting Mrs. Park indulge his plate with a pile of food that is probably too much for his appetite.

“I reminded your mom about the barbecue party on Sunday,” Mrs. Park tells Yoongi beside her. “She said she’ll bring over a few dishes because she and Sungjeon will be away for a business trip to Jeju next week?”

“Yes,” Yoongi replies and takes a bite of the steamed dumpling. “They’ll be gone for a month or two.”

“Oh, dear.” Mrs. Park’s expression fell. “You won’t have anyone with you at home since your older brother works abroad; you’re welcome to come over anytime, Yoongi.”

“Thank you, auntie,” Yoongi thanks her with a small smile.

“So, Yoongi…” Mr. Park begins. “Jimin said you bought these cupcakes for him?”

The alpha nods. “Yes, because he doesn’t like chocolate mousse.”

“Hey, I can still eat it.” Jimin wrinkles the bridge of his nose. “I told you, stop buying me stuff. It’s annoying.”

“Ya, Jimin.” Mrs. Park glares at him.

Jimin’s father diffuses the situation by asking Yoongi, “Do you have a type for mates? A subgender preference?”

“I don’t really care if my mate is an omega, beta, or alpha,” Yoongi answers him. “I like people who can stand for themselves.”

Jimin’s brows rise up a fraction in curiosity. This is the first time he’s hearing about Yoongi’s romantic preference. Well, it’s not like they’re talking about each other’s love life in the first place, but this is something new and Jimin is intrigued to know more.

“Like who?” he asks because if Yoongi’s in love with someone, then he wants to know who the unlucky person is.

The table oddly falls silent as Jimin’s gaze connects with Yoongi. “You wanna know who?” the older alpha asks with a smirk.

Jimin’s left eye twitches and he snorts before stabbing a piece of dumpling with his chopsticks. “Fine, don’t tell me. It’s not like I’m interested anyway.”

Mr. Park laughs. “Really, you two remind me of my younger days when I’m still trying to court Hye-sun. Your mom hissed at me the first time I told her I liked her.”

Mrs. Park rolls her eyes fondly with a smile. “It was because you were annoying me with all those dark chocolate bars when I already told you I don’t eat dark chocolate.”

“That’s blasphemy,” Jimin’s father remarks.

“But seriously…” Jimin’s mother stands up to get a bowl of soup stuffed with kimchi tofu from the hot pot. “Jimin, you should rethink your life decisions and let Yoongi court you.”

Yoongi’s eyes widened. “Auntie‒”

“Mom, stop it!” Jimin sighs exasperatedly. “Why does everyone think Yoongi and I are gonna happen?”

“Because you two suit each other!” his mom tells him.

Jimin feels like he’s gonna pop a vein any minute now. “Mom, I already told you I don’t like alphas; I prefer omegas.”

“Preference isn’t always what we’ll have, sweetheart,” Mrs. Park lectures him. “It’s about compatibility.”

“And Yoongi and I don’t have that either.”

“Auntie,” Yoongi tries to intervene but the omega shushes him.

“Jimin, sweetie.” Her expression becomes serious. “Your hyung here is a responsible alpha; you won’t meet someone as handsome and kind as him again.”

“You don’t know that.” Jimin frowns. “There’s a lot of people out there who are ‘handsome and kind’ and not Yoongi.”

“Son, do you have anything against Yoongi?” Mr. Park asks.

“No, I don’t. But that’s not the point.” Jimin scratches his temple. “Look, mom, dad. Yoongi and I don’t get along well since we were kids so how can I ever have a relationship with my enemy?”

“You think we’re enemies?” Yoongi asks him and there’s a tinge of surprise in his dark, cat-like eyes.

“Of course. Aren’t we?” Jimin responds matter-of-factly.

“Sweetheart, enemies don’t go home together and share a meal,” his mother tells him, trying to drive her point. “What I’m saying is that you should give Yoongi a chance.”

“I don’t like alphas.” Jimin frowns and wishes for this argument to end already so he can have a peaceful meal.

“That’s not true,” Jihyung says beside him. “You liked an alpha before when you were in grade school.”

“Ya, Jihyun!” Jimin’s face reddens with embarrassment.

“See?” Mrs. Park says. “You’re just against the idea of marrying Yoongi because of your alpha pride, sweetie.”

“Mom, if you like Yoongi that much, why don’t you marry him?”

“Ya, watch your tone, young man,” Mr. Park warns Jimin.

“Auntie,” Yoongi says uncomfortably beside Mrs. Park. “It’s fine‒”

“I couldn’t ever see Yoongi as my mate,” Jimin says with finality in his tone and crosses his arms over his chest. “I will never marry an annoying guy like him even if he tries to court me.”

“Ya!” Mrs. Park yells at him and suddenly, the atmosphere at the table becomes somber.

Mr. Park rubs at his temple and Jihyun lets out a deep sigh beside Jimin.

His mother is fuming across the table and the urge to apologize for what he said bubbles inside Jimin’s chest but his alpha pride is holding him back.

Yoongi is staring blankly at his plate like he’s just lost his appetite with how he’s poking the lump of food with his chopsticks. The feeling of guilt inside Jimin’s heart becomes heavier and finally, he lets out a muttered apology.

“That’s enough,” Mr. Park tells all of them. “Let’s just eat peacefully now, okay? We’ll settle this after dinner.”

“I’m sorry, uncle, but I think I have to head home first.” Yoongi smiles but Jimin knows him well enough to see the tightness around the corners. “I have a paper due tomorrow.”

Mr. and Mrs. Park look at him sadly and the latter says, “Okay, dear. Just finish up your meal before you go, hm?”

The alpha nods. “I will. The hot pot is amazing, by the way.”

The mood lightens up gradually and Jimin should be happy that the awkwardness is slowly dissipating but he couldn’t help but feel like a jerk for destroying the joyous ambiance earlier.

He… probably should apologize to Yoongi personally. Jimin went extremely overboard and he didn't mean it when he made it look like Yoongi is a hateful alpha. It’s actually the exact opposite, but how could he ever admit that?

Jimin’s mom punishes him by making him do the dishes tonight. With a slight pout, Jimin collects the dirty plates and places them down carefully in the sink. He decides to send a text message to Hoseok first before he starts cleaning the dishes up.

Jimin knows his best friend’s gonna scold him for what he did but he just wants to talk to him tonight no matter what.

Making his way to the stairs leading up to his room, Jimin sees Yoongi and his mom standing by the doorway.

“I’m so sorry about earlier, dear,” Mrs. Park apologizes and Jimin’s footsteps halt. He doesn’t like eavesdropping on other people’s conversation but something about the way Yoongi smiles tightly at her bothers Jimin so much.

“It’s okay, auntie.” Yoongi bows his head. “I’m sorry as well. I didn’t realize I’m making Jimin uncomfortable by coming over so much.”

“Hush, now. You don’t, I promise.” Mrs. Park holds the alpha’s face. It’s such a sweet and motherly gesture which Jimin is very familiar with and seeing her do the same thing to Yoongi makes his gut clench with guilt. “Jimin is just being stubborn, but he likes you too, Yoongi.”

Likes you too , Jimin repeats inside his head, baffled.

What is his mom saying?

Yoongi’s gaze drops down and Jimin notices how his shoulders sag a little. “It’s already been four months since I started to court him but I think Jimin doesn’t like having me around so much.”

Jimin freezes on his spot behind the stairs.

Court?

What the fuck?

“Yoongi, I know your family has this tradition of silently courting for a while before you confess,” Jimin’s mother tells him with a sympathetic look in her eyes. “But I think you won’t get the message through my son if you don’t tell him directly how you feel. He thinks you’re enemies because you’ve been quarreling since you were kids so he hasn’t considered the possibility of ever marrying you one day.”

Jimin takes in a shaky breath as his hands ball into fists on his sides.

Yoongi... feels something for him?

“I don’t think Jimin is fond of the idea of having a relationship with me,” Yoongi chuckles but there is no trace of humor in his eyes. Somehow, it makes Jimin’s heart ache. “He just said so earlier.”

I don’t like alphas.

I couldn’t ever see Yoongi as my mate.

I will never marry an annoying guy like him even if he tries to court me.

“God,” he mutters silently as he buries his face in his palms. His harsh words echo inside his head like a grave reminder and fuck, Jimin should really apologize to Yoongi for being an inconsiderate jerk to him.

Mrs. Park sighs and pinches the alpha’s cheek lightly to cheer him up. “You’ve been with Jimin since you were in diapers and you know how stubborn he can get. Don’t give up yet, hm? After all, you already have my and my husband’s blessing. And your parents are also cheering you on in this, am I right?”

To this, the alpha smiles a little and nods. “They’d love to have Jimin as their son-in-law.”

Jimin’s breath hitches in his throat.

“See?” Mrs. Park says with a fond chuckle. “You just have to hold on a little ‒ no, a lot more because my son can be so difficult sometimes. Jimin doesn’t hate you; he’s just being stubborn.”

Yoongi laughs. “Yeah, he really is a stubborn brat ever since.”

“And you still love him anyway,” his mom states and the smile on Yoongi’s face grows a little wider.

“I do,” the alpha replies without a trace of hesitation and Jimin feels his heart bang loudly against his chest.

Stealthily walking away from his hiding spot, Jimin moves towards the door leading to the veranda. He plants both hands on the railing and bows his head between his shoulders. Jimin’s heart is racing so fast inside his chest that it makes him feel a little dizzy.

Yoongi. Min Yoongi. Jimin’s childhood enemy ‒ friend ‒ loves him?

The older alpha has been trying to court him these past few months and Jimin hasn’t noticed it?

He could still see the hurt in Yoongi’s eyes behind his closed lids when Jimin straight out told him he’s annoying and wouldn’t ever marry him. Yoongi can be an ass sometimes, but he wouldn’t do anything to hurt him. He’s a good alpha, definitely far from hateful and he doesn’t deserve to be treated like this by Jimin.

Now, it all makes sense. How Yoongi frequently visits his house. How his parents praise the older alpha all the time in front of him. The gifts. The pastries. The offers to walk home.

Yoongi has been courting him all along.

“God, I feel so terrible,” Jimin groans before crouching and burying his face into his arms, desperately wishing that he could turn back time and undo his mistake. “I’m such an asshole.”

Jimin is anxious.

He tried to text Yoongi the same night after that scuffle they had at dinner, to apologize, but he kept erasing his message until he got too frustrated and decided to just tell it to him in person. The next day, Jimin tried to look for Yoongi in the university but the older alpha was nowhere to be found.

The following day bore the same result so Jimin had no choice but to reluctantly seek help from Yoongi’s friends.

“He’s at Professor Choi’s office,” Namjoon told him. Yes, Jimin was outside of Yoongi’s classroom and waited for their class to finish. Fuck. “He’s working on a project with his team so he’s probably gonna be there for a while.”

“Ah, I see.” Jimin shuffled restlessly on his feet.

“Hey, Jimin. This is the first time you went out of your way to look for Yoongi.” Namjoon frowned in concern while arranging the bag strap over his shoulder. “Did you two fight? I mean, you always do. But is it serious this time?”

The corners of Jimin’s lip tightened a bit. “No, we’re fine. I just‒ wanna talk to him about something. But we’re fine.”

The older alpha looked like he didn’t buy Jimin’s excuse but he was grateful that the other didn’t push any further. “Alright,” he heard Namjoon say before patting Jimin’s shoulder twice. “I’ll be heading first.”

Sunday , Jimin thought. On Sunday, for sure .

“Thanks for inviting us over; I’m sorry but Yoongi went out today,” Mrs. Min said apologetically, placing a bottle of wine on the dinner table.

Jimin stood frozen on the entryway, lips parted in surprise because what the fuck was that?

“He hasn’t been coming over lately either,” Mrs. Park remarked with a worried frown. “Is he doing okay?”

“He’s been really busy with his thesis and group project. I caught him pulling off an all-nighter two days in a row.”

“Oh, dear.” Mrs. Park touched her cheek. “He’s gonna get sick if he won’t take care of himself.”

“It’s fine. Our son’s a tough alpha. He won’t get sick so easily,” Mr. Min replied with a laugh, trying to lighten up the mood.

“Jiminie, my dear.” Mrs. Min held Jimin’s hand. “I’m so sorry if Yoongi’s not here today.”

Jimin blinked and blushed at the sudden attention. “I-It’s fine, auntie. Yoongi’s a senior so it’s expected of him to be this busy.”

“Still…” Yoongi’s mother sighed. “He would’ve found time to come over for you. I wonder if his university work is really that heavy that he refused to go here today.”

An unpleasant feeling lodged heavily inside Jimin’s stomach.

What if… Yoongi’s avoiding him?

“Yo.”

Jimin jolts in surprise when Hoseok snapped his fingers in front of his face. “You’re spacing out again.”

“Sorry.” Jimin sighs and runs a hand down his face.

Yeah, he’s definitely anxious.

“You still haven’t talked to Yoongi?” his best friend asks as he takes the seat across from Jimin. They’re in a small quaint coffee shop across the street; it’s their favorite hangout place after a tiring day from the university.

“No.” Jimin takes a sip of his cold brew. “I think he’s avoiding me.”

“Hm,” Hoseok hums as he chews on a slice of blueberry cheesecake. “Understandable.”

Jimin lets out a frustrated sigh. “Hey, you’re supposed to make me feel better.”

“But you’re the one at fault,” Hoseok says pointedly and fuck, Jimin wants the ground to open up and swallow him because his best friend is right.

“I’m trying to apologize but I can’t find the right timing. I can’t see him at all in the university because of his schedule.”

Or, Jimin thinks sadly. Because he’s avoiding me.

“Just text him.”

“It won’t sound sincere. I have to say it to him in person.”

Hoseok purses his lips in thought and leans back on the chair, crossing both arms over his chest. “Okay, let’s do this,” he suggests. “We’re gonna have dance practice today at 5 pm, right? Then you’ll have an excuse to wait for Yoongi’s dismissal from that group project or whatever.”

Jimin’s shoulders sag a little. “What if he doesn’t wanna see me?”

Hoseok grabs a clean spoon and hits Jimin’s head with it.

“Ow!” Jimin glares at his best friend, covering the sore spot on top of his head with a hand. “What was that for?”

“You literally heard the guy told your mom that he’s gonna marry you. How could he not want to see you? Stop being stupid.” Hoseok makes a face at him.

An embarrassed flush crosses over Jimin’s face and he averts his eyes before his best friend could notice it. “He’s probably mad,” Jimin mutters sulkily.

“He’s not.”

“What if he ignores me forever?”

“And what is it to you?” Hoseok smirks. “I thought he’s your enemy? You always say that.”

“He’s‒!” The words die in Jimin’s mouth and he shrinks back into his chair, huffing softly. “He’s not my enemy.”

“Then what is he to you?” his best friend asks with interest in his eyes, placing his chin on an open palm as he waits patiently for Jimin’s answer.

Yeah. What is Yoongi to him?

“A hyung,” Jimin answers but something doesn’t feel right.

Hoseok closes his eyes and sighs. “You’re omitting something important.”

Jimin’s hands ball into fists on top of his thighs.

“Feelings,” his best friends say and Jimin feels like a bomb has been dropped in front of him. “You’re forgetting about feelings. Romantic ones.”

“I don’t like alphas,” Jimin stubbornly says but Hoseok isn’t having that.

“If you keep on denying what you really feel, then it will come and haunt you, Jiminie. It’s not about Yoongi being an alpha, isn’t it? You’re just against the idea that it is Yoongi.”

Jimin’s alpha is growing restless inside him. He wants to scream because once again, his best friend is fucking right.

“Yeah, I think so,” he finally admits.

“Why?” Hoseok asks, intrigued. “I’m a beta so I don’t fully understand alphas and omegas. Was it your instinct?”

Jimin hates to say this out loud, and has been trying to not think of it ever since Yoongi turned fourteen. Some things are better left unspoken but apparently, that is not the case right now.

Jimin nods at his best friend’s question. “You see, alphas are very territorial creatures. We have an instinct to claim and protect, to be fearsome in the face of adversities. We are bound to be strong because that’s what our DNA dictates us to do.”

Clasping his hands together, Jimin says, “When Yoongi turned fourteen and his scent glands started to develop, I… I smelled him for the first time.”

At Jimin’s pause, Hoseok presses on. “And?”

Jimin clenches his jaws. “I hated it.”

“Isn’t it natural for alphas to hate each other’s scent?” Hoseok inquires. “Something about getting suffocated with the musk, unsteady pheromones, and innately seeking for an omega’s sweet scent instead?”

“That’s the thing.” Jimin drops his forehead on one palm. “I began to hate Yoongi’s scent because I didn’t hate it.”

“What?” the beta asks in confusion.

“I didn’t loathe Yoongi’s scent the first time I smelled him like how I should as an alpha.” Jimin presses his lips together, heart pounding louder in his chest at the memory of Yoongi’s scent filling up his nostrils.

“His scent is earthy, like forest ground but with a tinge of sweetness that’s not commonly seen in alphas.” Jimin unconsciously licks his lips. “He smells faintly of tangerines.”

“So you mean to say,” Hoseok begins in a cautious voice like he’s treading carefully on thin ice. “You’re attracted to Yoongi’s alpha scent?”

Jimin shuts his eyes tightly, bowing his head in shame. “Yes,” he mutters. “And I hate it because every time I smell him, it feels like my alpha is submitting to him.”

“Ah.” Hoseok nods in understanding. “Do you wanna know what it looks like to a beta like me, Jiminie?”

Lifting up his gaze to stare at his best friend, Jimin asks curiously, “What?”

Hoseok gives him a lopsided smile and responds, “It looks like you have feelings for him. As simple as that.”

Jimin gapes at the beta and something inside his chest races.

His heart beats strangely like this whenever Yoongi does something to fluster him, whether it be a sweet gesture or an action showing that he cares for Jimin.

Jimin had always brushed it off as Yoongi trying to take care of him because he’s older, or trying to show off that he’s the better alpha. Because if Jimin doesn’t ignore it, then he will surely fall.

But… does Yoongi really love him? What if he’s just being pressured by his parents? Or worse, Jimin’s parents?

Didn’t Yoongi tell him years ago that he saw Jimin as a nasty little brother that he should take care of? What if he’s just mistaking another feeling for love?

“The ugly frown on your face is telling me that you’re worried about having feelings for Yoongi,” Hoseok notes and laughs when Jimin glares at him. Another bull’s eye. “Well, Jiminie, that guy just admitted he’s been courting your dense ass for four months so if you’re worried about him not having genuine feelings for you in return, then I’m gonna smack you hard right now.”

Jimin snorts. “As if you can. I’m stronger than you.”

Hoseok clicks his tongue and kicks Jimin’s feet under the table.

“Hey!” the alpha complains.

“You’re an alpha, but you’re whining like a little shit right now.” His best friend grabs his coffee and drinks. “If you’re worried about Yoongi avoiding you, then just corner him and apologize. Dragging the apology this long won’t do you both any good. It’s better to clear up any misunderstanding early on.”

Jimin lets out a loud breath and scratches his temple. “Yeah, you’re right.”

“Of course, I am.” Hoseok beams at him and the alpha finds himself returning the gesture. “You can do it, Jiminie. Apologize and get your man.”

When you’re not actively seeking for something, that’s the time when you’re gonna find it.

Jimin doesn’t really believe in quotes too much, but now he’s starting to think otherwise.

On their way to the practice room, Jimin and Hoseok saw Yoongi walking across the school grounds towards the library. He’s with four other people; his teammates, Jimin muses. But the only one who got the younger alpha’s attention is the pretty omega walking by Yoongi’s side.

“That’s Jaewon, right?” his best friend mentions beside him.

“Yeah.” A crease appears between Jimin’s brows when the omega laughs and looks at Yoongi with angelic eyes as if the guy is his moon and stars and all that metaphorical shit.

Jimin snorts. He’s been hanging around Yoongi a lot lately and it’s probably because they have the same units in one of the elective subjects. Yeah, that’s probably the only reason why.

Right?

“You’re frowning. You look jealous.”

Jimin shifts his glare to his best friend beside him. “I’m not.”

“Then go ahead and talk to Yoongi before he vanishes into thin air again.” Hoseok pats his back. “I’ll be at the practice room.”

“M’kay.” Jimin nods and adjusts the strap of his bag over his shoulder, taking in a deep breath before striding towards the library to catch up with Yoongi.

“Yoongi!” he calls from afar.

The older alpha halts to a stop and turns around to the sound of Jimin’s voice. Something warm and restless settles inside Jimin’s chest at the sight of the alpha’s pale face; it’s been a while since the last time he’d seen him and even though Jimin’s inner alpha is still debating with him, he couldn’t help but feel relieved and… strangely happy to see Yoongi again.

“Hey, Jimin.” The older alpha gives him a small smile.

“Yoongi, we’re heading inside,” one of his teammates says with a pat on his shoulder. The older alpha nods and turns his attention back to Jimin.

“Do you need anything?”

“Um…” Jimin shuffles on his feet restlessly. Now that Yoongi’s in front of him, why the fuck does he feel so tongue-tied? He needs to apologize. Goddammit. “You see, Yoongi, I just wanna‒”

“Yoongi?”

Jimin’s mouth clacks shut at the sound of the omega’s sweet and soft voice. Normally, he would have cooed at the cute sound because omegas are pretty people by nature and Jimin loves pretty, little things.

But right now, when Jaewon looks at him briefly before turning his gaze back to Yoongi, Jimin feels an unpleasant and twisted emotion lodging inside his chest.

“You’re gonna go?” Jaewon asks and there’s a hint of sadness in his eyes. “We still have to do our project.”

“Ah, no. I’m just gonna talk to Jimin. I’ll be with you guys in a minute,” Yoongi politely says, because he’s always been like that. Polite. And it annoys Jimin sometimes because that is how other people get attracted to him.

When it comes to Jimin though, it’s a whole other thing. Yoongi becomes a little smug and playful; it’s not that he hates him, but maybe it’s the comfort of growing up together that they feel at ease with one another despite the petty fights and arguments.

To Jimin’s surprise, the omega pouts sulkily at the older alpha. “But you always go with Alpha Park. Is he your boyfriend?”

“No, he’s not,” Yoongi answers and Jimin feels a tight squeeze in his heart.

“But you always pick him over anything else.” Jaewon frowns. “Don’t go with him.”

“Excuse me?” Jimin’s brow twitches and he sees the flash of slight panic in Yoongi’s eyes. They’ve known each other for so long that each of them can recognize if the other is genuinely annoyed or not.

And right now, Yoongi can probably feel Jimin’s growing irritation without him telling him.

“Jaewon,” the older alpha begins to diffuse the situation. “I still have to do the project with you and the others so I won’t go anywhere. I’ll be in the library in a minute.”

Jimin wants to laugh at the absurdity of the scene. Yoongi looks like an alpha who’s trying to calm down his little omega boyfriend.

“Promise you’ll come back?” Jaewon asks hopefully as he stares up at Yoongi’s face with pretty, pleading eyes.

Jimin has had enough.

Shoving his hands into his pockets, he says, “I won’t take away your boyfriend. Now go and let us talk in peace.” He clenches his teeth briefly and forces himself to say the last word because he’s a fucking gentleman. “Please.”

“Jimin.” Yoongi stares at him with wide eyes because despite uttering the polite word at the end, they both recognized the underlying hostility in Jimin’s voice and the younger alpha knows that the elder is probably confused at the moment.

The omega huffs and reminds Yoongi, “We’re gonna pull an all-nighter at Lee-kyung’s place again, okay?” He looks in Jimin’s direction again but this time, there’s a hint of contempt in his gaze, before he turns his attention back to Yoongi. “I’ll see you inside.”

Jimin couldn’t help but feel a strong sense of annoyance as he watches the dainty omega walk inside the library. It’s very unusual for him to get angry at someone, more so at an omega. What the hell is happening to him?

“Let’s go over there,” Yoongi says and Jimin follows him towards a vacant vending machine.

The elder offers Jimin a cold can of orange juice, knowing that the younger loves drinking this particular brand of beverage.

“You won’t drink?” Jimin asks.

“I’m fine.” Yoongi looks at his wristwatch. “I need to head in soon.”

Jimin’s fingers tighten around the can. He should be apologizing to Yoongi right now, how sorry he is for saying stupid and insensitive things to him back then, for unintentionally disregarding his feelings.

But instead, Jimin finds himself saying, “I didn’t know you do overnights with Jaewon.”

Yoongi looks baffled at his statement but then he answers, “My team sometimes pulls all-nighters at Lee-kyung’s apartment. This project is huge for us so we can’t waste any time.”

“Was it that important that it made you skip dinners at home?” Jimin frowns, recalling the number of times Yoongi had skipped family dinners at Jimin’s house for the so-called project.

It’s not like Yoongi’s obligated to come and Jimin knows he’s being quite childish, but it’s been their routine since they were kids and people say that when routines get broken, it leaves a strange sense of emptiness in a person.

Maybe that is what Jimin is feeling right now.

“Jimin.” Yoongi stands up straighter. “I don’t understand. Are you mad at me?”

“I’m not.”

How can I be mad at you? Jimin thinks with a humorless laugh. You should be the one who’s mad at me.

“But you look mad.”

The frown on Jimin’s face deepens and he lets out a loud sigh. “You haven’t been coming over lately. Was it because of what I said?”

Yoongi’s lips part a little and he averts his eyes to rub a hand behind his neck. “No, I’m busy with my requirements so I haven’t found the time to hang out. You’re not at fault.”

Still, he would’ve found time to come over for you. I wonder if his university work is really that heavy that he refused to go here today.

Mrs. Min’s voice replays inside Jimin’s head and he wants to laugh right in front of Yoongi’s face.

Yoongi’s lying. He’s giving Jimin a white lie, but it’s a lie nonetheless.

“Can we go somewhere else?” Jimin offers. “I need to talk to you about something.”

He needs to talk to Yoongi about what he heard that night.

“Can’t we discuss it now?” Yoongi looks down at his wristwatch again. “I kinda need to go to my teammates soon. I promised them I’d be back.”

“You mean you promised Jaewon.” Jimin didn’t intend to scoff but his instinct told him to protect himself like a defense mechanism. To be strong in face of great distress.

To protect his heart.

Yoongi stares at him for a moment as if gauging what the hell is running through his mind. “Jimin, that doesn’t mean anything.”

As if on cue, Yoongi’s phone rings with an incoming message and the older alpha takes a peek at the phone screen, letting out a soft sigh before pocketing his phone back. “I need to go. Let’s talk some other time, okay?”

“Was it Jaewon who texted you?”

A confused frown contorts the alpha’s features. “I don’t see why that’s important.”

“Jaewon is interested in you,” Jimin says frankly, tilting his head slightly to the side. “Did you know that?”

Yoongi falls silent.

Of course, he knew, Jimin thinks.

“For someone who’s courting me, you’re very much open to other people’s advances.”

Jimin sees how Yoongi’s eyes widened in surprise after he said those words. The older alpha seems to be at a loss for what to say to him, opening and closing his mouth in an attempt to form words.

“H-How did you…?” Yoongi breathes out.

“I overheard your conversation with my mom.” Jimin bites his bottom lip. “Yoongi, I’m sor‒”

“Yoongi.”

Jimin’s mouth snaps shut when he hears Jaewon’s voice calling for Yoongi. The omega walks timidly towards them, stopping short just beside Jimin while looking at the older alpha. “I’m here to get you. Sorry, but Lee-kyung wants to discuss something.”

Jimin chuckles humorlessly and runs a hand through his ash-blond hair. It’s not even five minutes since he and Yoongi have started talking, so what could Lee-kyung want from Yoongi?

No, that’s not it. It’s probably Jaewon’s idea. That omega really wants to keep Yoongi away from him, huh.

“I’ll be there,” Yoongi says, looking a little irritated before he turns back to Jimin. “I’ll find you later.”

“What? But we’re having an overnight!” Jaewon exclaims in disappointment.

Letting out a sigh, Yoongi tells him, “I know and I’ll still go. I just need to talk to Jimin.”

Jimin isn’t fond of the idea of Yoongi spending the entire night at a friend’s house with an omega who’s clearly interested in him. Maybe, it’s insecurity. Because alphas are naturally attracted to omegas; Jimin knows it because he is one.

And the fact that Yoongi is still entertaining Jaewon despite the guy having the hots for him irritates Jimin to no end.

“It’s okay,” Jimin says coolly as he slides his hands back into his pockets. “Just go with your boyfriend and let’s talk another time.”

An embarrassed flush blooms across the omega’s small face after hearing Jimin’s words. Yoongi, on the other hand, is looking at him as if he’s scared that Jimin will completely kick him out of his life.

“No, Jimin. We’ll talk later,” Yoongi insists, grabbing his arm but Jimin isn’t having that. He’s too agitated and hot-headed to have a proper conversation with Yoongi today. He doesn’t want to say something he’ll regret again.

Jimin pulls his arm free from the alpha’s grip with a glare. “I’m gonna punch your face if you try to look for me.”

His words shut Yoongi up and before he or Jaewon could make Jimin’s mood worse, the younger alpha turned around to walk away. He needs to get out of there.

“Jealousy’s a bitch, huh?”

Jimin shoots daggers at his best friend’s smug face beside him. His mood is already down the drain because of Yoongi and that omega and now his best friend’s mocking him for… for… Shit.

“Anyway, I’m gonna call off the practice early today.” Hoseok pats Jimin’s shoulder. “You’re distracted, Jiminie, and I can see it in your performance.”

The alpha closes his eyes with a sigh, massaging the spot above his eyebrows. “I’m sorry, Hobi. I feel bad for the group.”

“It’s okay. I understand.” Hoseok stands up from the floor and claps his hands thrice to gather everyone, announcing the group’s early dismissal and the schedule of their next practice.

“I’ll stay a bit more,” Jimin says when Hoseok makes his way to him so they could walk out of the university together.

“You sure?”

“Yeah. I’ll practice more.”

There’s a palpable concern in the beta’s eyes and he even offered to stay with Jimin until he’s done, but the alpha refused and told him to take a rest. “I’ll be fine. I’ll switch off everything when I’m done,” Jimin assures him with a smile.

“Okay.” Hoseok opens the door. “Call me later?”

“Mhn.”

The dance routine isn’t even complicated; it’s actually easier than the ones Jimin had done before, so why the hell couldn’t he get this one step right?

Jimin’s leg muscles are already sore and it’s nearing nine in the evening when the door to the dance studio creaks open. Through the huge floor-to-ceiling mirror in front of him, Jimin sees Yoongi standing behind him with both hands tucked inside his pockets.

Whipping around, the younger alpha says, “What are you doing here?”

“I told you we have to talk.” The elder begins to step closer.

Frowning, he replies, “And I told you that I’ll punch you if you try to find me.”

“Then punch me now,” Yoongi dares him with a slight tilt of his head.

Irritation flares inside Jimin’s chest once again and instead of chewing the alpha’s bait like he usually would, he sighs and turns around to turn off the speakers. He doesn’t really want to see Yoongi right now.

He’s about to walk towards his bag to get a towel for a cold shower when a hand suddenly grabs his arm. “Jimin, wait.”

“I’m gonna go and get a shower.” Jimin pulls his arm free and walks towards the locker room.

“I cancelled the overnight.”

Jimin hums, trying to sound uninterested.

“What do you think of it?”

“Of what?” Jimin asks while taking out a spare white shirt and a pair of black joggers from his locker.

“Courting.”

He pauses.

Silence permeates the air inside the locker room for a few seconds before Jimin responds, “I don’t know. Maybe I’ll find out after you stop flirting with Jaewon.”

He hears the alpha let out a frustrated sigh. “I’m not flirting with him.”

“You’re not pushing him away. It’s the same thing as flirting.”

“He’s my teammate. I have to maintain a harmonious relationship with him.”

Jimin snorts and rummages through his locker for a pair of boxers. “Sure.”

The younger alpha gasps softly in surprise when he feels himself being tugged backwards. The door of his locker is slammed shut with a loud bang and then he’s standing face to face with Yoongi with no room for escape.

“Jimin,” the older alpha starts to say in a low voice. “Be honest with me. Are you jealous?”

Jimin swallows and tries to break his arm free from Yoongi’s iron grip but to no avail. Right. He’s facing an alpha right now.

“I’m not,” he lies.

“You’re bad at lying.”

A frown settles on Jimin’s face and his inner alpha is already starting to grow restless inside him. “Let go of me,” he hisses.

“I won’t let go of you until you answer me.”

“Go away.”

“No.”

“I said get the fuck away!” Jimin shouts at him. Yoongi’s scent is starting to grow stronger and his inner alpha is rebelling inside him. It’s all too much and he wants to cover his nose so badly. Fuck, he doesn’t want to smell Yoongi’s pheromones right now.

Jimin yelps when his back meets the metal lockers harshly, the loud rattling sound echoing inside the otherwise quiet room and deafening his ears for a moment.

Yoongi’s left hand is around his arm while the other rests on the metal locker just beside his head. He’s looking at Jimin with a dark look in his eyes that makes Jimin’s inner alpha growl in response.

“Stop being stubborn and tell me the truth,” Yoongi utters with a frown.

“It’s already been four months since I started to court him but I think Jimin doesn’t like having me around so much.”

Jimin shuts his eyes tightly when he remembers Yoongi’s words from that night.

“I don’t think Jimin is fond of the idea of having a relationship with me,” Yoongi chuckles but there is no trace of humor in his eyes. Somehow, it makes Jimin’s heart ache. “He just said so earlier.”

That’s not true, Jimin says inside his head.

“They’d love to have Jimin as their son-in-law.”

His hands ball into fists, trembling on his sides.

“And you still love him anyway,” Mrs. Park states, and the smile on Yoongi’s face grows a little wider.

“I do,” the alpha replies without a trace of hesitation and Jimin feels his heart bang loudly against his chest.

“Fuck,” Jimin curses as his eyes fly open, fisting Yoongi’s shirt and flipping them around to push him against the lockers instead.

“Jimin‒” Yoongi begins to say but the younger alpha shuts him up with a firm kiss on the mouth.

Jⲓmin’s inner alpha is rioting, and a low growl brews inside his throat when Yoongⲓ willingly opens his mouth so he can plunge his tongue inside. The kiss isn’t sweet or chaste; it’s fierce and rough, far from any kisses that Jⲓmin has had before. Totally different from kissing a beta or an omega.

Kissing an alpha is like fighting for your life. There is no room for kittenish licks or teasing tongues, just the urge to devour and consume until one of them succumbs to the other.

Alphas are very territorial creatures and it shows from how Yoongⲓ and Jⲓmin kiss each other.

“Jⲓmin,” Yoongⲓ utters in a throaty voice when Jⲓmin bites his lower lip hard. He can hear the pleased growl scratching the elder’s throat. It’s guttural ‒ rough-sounding ‒ but it turns Jimin on so fucking much.

The younger alpha moves down to Yoongⲓ’s neck, licking the sensitive spot under the alpha’s left ear where one of his scent glands is located. “Fuck,” he hears him say.

“Wanna bite you right here.” Jⲓmin’s teeth scratches the skin lightly, teasingly before he proceeds to suck bruises on the alpha’s neck.

“Let me scent you,” Yoongⲓ says and Jⲓmin growls against his neck, his fangs threatening to grow longer.

When he nods, Yoongⲓ grabs him by the shoulder and pushes him back against the locker, immediately attaching his nose and mouth to Jⲓmin’s neck to lather his skin with his heady scent.

“Smell so fucking good,” Yoongⲓ murmurs on his skin, rubbing his nose and lips against Jⲓmin’s scent glad. “Wanna fucking mark you. Mount you. Claim you.”

Jⲓmin’s teeth bared as lust pools inside his groin, intoxicated by the smell of forest ground and sweet tangerines. “Get these off,” he rasps as he harshly tries to tug Yoongⲓ’s pants down.

The alpha complies and immediately unbuckles his belt as Jⲓmin does the same. When Yoongⲓ’s hard cock springs free from his boxers, Jⲓmin hastily presses their erection together and hikes a leg around Yoongⲓ’s hip, moaning at the pleasurable sensation that the immediate contact provided them.

“Ahh.” Jⲓmin’s eyes slip shut as his head thumps back against the locker, letting Yoongi’s lips and tongue leave bruises all over his neck, engulfing him with his scent. The older alpha begins to grind against him, rubbing their erection together in a harsh and fast pace that makes Jimin moan loudly.

“Ah… Ahh… Shit, Yoongⲓ.” Jⲓmin wraps his arms around Yoongⲓ’s neck to steady himself, the older alpha placing an arm under his knee to open him up more. Thank God for Jⲓmin’s flexibility.

“Been wanting to do this,” Yoongⲓ rasps on his neck, licking Jⲓmin’s scent gland and eliciting a moan out of him. “So fucking much.”

“Mhn. Harder,” Jⲓmin groans as his sensitive underside rubs against Yoongⲓ’s cock. “Faster. Fuck.”

Yoongⲓ lifts up his face to claim Jⲓmin’s lips once again, all teeth and tongue as he grinds against him harder. Jⲓmin’s cock is leaking with so much precum and he’s already feeling a bit lightheaded because of Yoongⲓ’s strong scent.

Having sex with an alpha is totally different than Jimin had ever imagined. It’s wild, rough, and unforgiving. Just like their very nature.

And fuck if it isn’t what Jⲓmin has been craving for.

“Gonna come,” Jⲓmin growls against Yoongⲓ’s mouth as they fight for dominance.

Yoongⲓ pins him harder against the lockers as his hips move harsher to bring Jⲓmin to his orgasm. The knots in Jⲓmin’s groin are getting tighter the more Yoongⲓ moves like this.

Impatient, Jⲓmin pushes Yoongⲓ away until his rear hits the bench behind him. The younger alpha immediately pins Yoongⲓ down, shucking off his pants and straddling the other’s lap until their cocks press tightly again together.

“You’re gonna cum with me,” Jⲓmin says as he stares down at the alpha’s pale, handsome face.

Yoongⲓ lets out a chuckle before fisting Jⲓmin’s shirt and pulling him down to kiss him. “Then make me cum, Mⲓnie.”

Mⲓnie.

Jⲓmin moans at the silly nickname and starts to grind his erection roughly against the man beneath him. Yoongⲓ’s tongue is battling with his and his huge hands are on Jⲓmin’s backside, urging on his movements as they occasionally knead the firm flesh.

“Ngh…” Jⲓmin moans against Yoongⲓ’s mouth when a particular sharp grind shot pleasurable tingles down his spine.

“You feel so fucking good,” Yoongⲓ praises him as he squeezes Jⲓmin’s ass firmly, making the younger alpha groan on top of him. “Fuck me more.”

“Shit.” Jⲓmin’s grinds turn sloppy as his orgasm approaches him, pushing him near the edge the more he thrusts desperately like this. “Coming.”

Yoongⲓ licks the seams of his lips and grinds up against him. “Come.”

“Fuck.” The younger alpha moans when his balls seize up with his release, spurting white strings of cum onto Yoongⲓ’s abdomen as his thighs convulse with pleasure.

Not long after, Yoongⲓ groans against Jⲓmin’s neck when his high finally hits him, releasing his seed between them as Jⲓmin continues to grind their cocks together to chase any remnants of their orgasm.

When their cocks grow too sensitive for any further stimulation, Jⲓmin drops his forehead on Yoongⲓ’s shoulder and takes a moment to catch his breath.

“Hey.”

Jⲓmin feels Yoongⲓ’s warm, large hands slide underneath his shirt to caress his sweaty back. “You okay?”

Jⲓmin snorts lightly and props a hand beside Yoongⲓ’s head to look at him. “Don’t mock me.”

Yoongⲓ chuckles and runs his fingers through Jⲓmin’s damp blond locks, pushing them away from his face and the feeling of the alpha’s pads on his scalp is enough to make Jⲓmin hum in satisfaction.

“We still need to clear up a lot of things, Jⲓmin,” Yoongⲓ says below him.

“Then let’s talk at home.”

Yoongⲓ’s gaze drops down on his lips and Jⲓmin feels his heart skip a beat at the dark look in the alpha’s eyes. When a brief flicker of gold crosses over Yoongⲓ’s irises, Jⲓmin tenses as his breath catches in his throat.

He knows that look because it’s the same kind his eyes wore when his inner alpha wanted to devour an omega. “No,” Yoongⲓ says and runs a thumb across Jⲓmin’s kiss-swollen lips. “I’m not letting you go home tonight.”
