Chapter Text
It takes a few days after they start dating for Felix to ask about the first song. There was too much happening after the night they confessed their feelings – mostly Hyunjin yelling at Felix for leaving all the ice cream in his room to melt in the bag – so he didn’t really think about the song again until much later.
One night after practice, while they’re lying together in Felix’s bed, watching a movie and sharing lazy, sleepy kisses, Felix tilts his head to look up at Changbin. Felix is lying across his chest, his arm thrown around the older boy’s middle, while Changbin gently pets the top of his hair, carding his fingers through the soft, golden strands. Felix watches as Changbin stares at the TV, paying close attention to whatever is happening on the screen (Felix doesn’t really know what they’re watching - he’s been too preoccupied rubbing his arms along Changbin’s biceps to pay much attention).
“What was the first song about? The ‘My Destiny’ track.”
Changbin turns away from the television to look down at Felix, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
“What?”
Felix pulls his arm up so he can rest his chin on it, raising his head to look more directly into Changbin’s eyes.
“The demo Chan showed the group a few weeks ago, the one you wrote. What was it about? I kept feeling like you were trying to tell me something, but I never could figure it out.”
Changbin’s eyebrows relax once he realizes what Felix is talking about, and he shakes his head, resting his hand on Felix’s cheek and stroking the smooth skin with the pad of his thumb. He grins sheepishly. “Oh, you got that? I wasn’t sure if you would. Honestly, I was wrong when I wrote it. It was supposed to be a song to myself that meant I needed to give you up so I could move forward. I thought back then that I couldn’t have you and music.”
Felix leans his face into Changbin’s hand, feeling the warmth of Changbin’s skin against his. He gazes at his boyfriend with an expression he hopes shows Changbin just how much he adores him. He hopes Changbin can see how happy he is that they’re sharing the same space again, how being with him drives the lonely away from Felix’s heart the way Changbin’s second song – Felix’s sunshine song – says being with the one you love is supposed to.
Felix thought he needed everyone back together, but really he just needed this, the two of them a mess of entangled limbs and warm body heat.
“And now?” Felix asks.
Changbin’s eyes soften when he smiles, and he leans his face down to plant a small kiss on Felix’s nose. “Now I have everything.”

When Felix dances, Changbin’s world feels incredibly, impossibly loud. Whether it’s the group of boys yelling all around him or the sound of the music booming from the speakers or the scuffle of sneakers on hardwood, he doesn’t know. Maybe it’s even the sound of his blood rushing to his ears or his heart beating loudly against his ribcage or his thoughts screaming in his head. Whatever it is, Changbin’s whole world is full of sound when he watches Felix dance.
And when Felix stops dancing and catches Changbin watching him in the mirror, turning around to flash him a bright smile or a wink or a finger heart from across the practice room, Changbin’s world is full of sunshine.
And everything simply feels incredibly, impossibly right.
