Once helping out at the daycare Jack started walking to what was now called the pool district meaning the one part of town where nearly every house had a pool but Jack knew the only was in use was his boyfriend’s house, not really his house just one he claimed. All houses had no owners since the FAYZ started, except ones on the house list made by the council so stealing was limited. Jack walked through the back and over to the pool where he saw Duck laying on his back in the pool, the sight brought a smile to Jack’s face despite everything he had to face during the FAYZ his boyfriend was one thing he’d go through all of it again for. He walked over to the pool and took off his shoes and socks, rolled up his pants and sat at the edge, dipping his feet in,
“Hey waterbender.”
Duck let out a soft chuckle and took off his sunglasses then swam over to Jack and leaned on the edge,
“Hey Tech.”
“So we have a problem.”
“What?”
“Coates…”
“What do you mean?”
“I think they’re coming to town, I ran into one of them at the daycare.”
“What do we need to do?”
“Lay low.”
“So no more pool?”
“I don’t know yet but let’s try not to draw attention to ourselves. I don’t want you getting hurt because of me since I’m from Coates.”
Duck sighed and hopped out and took his boyfriend’s hand,
“I can protect myself Tech.”
Jack smiled and nodded,
“I know just let’s be careful it is the FAYZ after all who knows what could happen.”
Duck chuckled and kissed his cheek,
“I’ll be careful babe ok.”
Jack blushed, smiling,
“Ok.”
Later that night Sam walked towards the beach after getting directions from a couple kids he threatened, he walked along the shoreline near the water. He closed his eyes and sighed as he remembered faint laughter and waves splashing. He smiled as he continued walking before getting hit in the face with a ball of wet sand, he grimaced as he wiped the sand from his face and saw Drake standing a few feet in front of him smirking while holding a clump of wet sand.
“What the hell was that for?”
“You looked like you were going crazy so I thought I’d snap you outta it”
“Why did you want to meet here?”
“It’s away from Diana and her spies.”
“Get to the point Drake.”
“With Albert’s girlfriend dead, we should find the body and pin it on the ice Queen, the townies will start distrusting her and then we can kill her.”
“Sounds boring.”
“Then you come up with an idea brainiac.”
“We wait to hear back from Jen then we plan our next move for now we chillax.”
“Fine, maybe you can finally teach me how to surf.”
Sam laughed, “Yeah right, you tried to kill me with a surfboard cause I tried to help you control how you wipeout.”
“Whatever so. we’re just gonna chill?”
“Yeah, we’re just gonna chill.”
