The Veiled Door

Chapter 12: She really didn't want to make it messy

Summary:

The news really sunk in when Cecila let out a pained screech and her body was limp. Head rolling on the floor; at the same time Mirabels arched up with a inhuman shriek, her eyes glowing a mixture of yellow and red.

In that moment all she could utter out looking at Cecilas now un-possessed body were two words, "Oh fuck."

Chapter Text

" GET OFF OF HER!"

The shrill cry made Julieta's heart panic. Her baby was out there. Without a second thought she tore through the vines, not caring about the torns digging into her skin. She wobbled out of ignoring Isabela's cries to keep her there and how the vines tugged at her dress.

"AGHH-"

She watched in horror as someone hit the wall and then the wooden floor with a loud thud. Her eyes quickly locked onto Cecilia was standing still. Where was Mirabel?

"Mija?"

Julieta croaked out, her voice dense with emotion. Cecilia slowly turned around, exposing what she held in her a hand. A large shard of glass. At that moment she realized that her daughter, her youngest baby, was faint on the floor in front of Cecilia. She felt her heart drop.

"That's my baby-" she forced out. She felt her body start to shake with fear. "Please don't harm my baby-"

Julieta spoke in a desperate tone, she slowly walked closer to the young girl.

"What is she worth to you?" Cecila asked in a monotone voice.

"Everything! She's worth everything to me!" Julieta replied instantly.

"Everything huh?" Cecila scoffed and glanced at the limp girl.

"Would you kill for her?"

Cecila gripped the shard tighter in her hand, not even wincing at the pain of it slicing the delicate skin.. If only their was a better way to fix this. Why had it come to this? Alma its her fault

"Would you walk through the ruins of hell for her? Walk until your skin becomes raw and blistered? Would you give your body, your soul away for her?"

"I would fight the Devil himself for her, any good mother would do that for her child!" Julieta cried.

"Then you understand why I must do this-" Cecila turned around, and grabbed Mirabels arm.

"DON'T TOUCH HER!" Julieta screamed as she broke into a run, stumbling with her hand out reached.

Cecila pressed the sharp end of the glass deep into Mirabels arm. Her power was fading fast from this body, she needed Mirabels blood. In one swift motion she dragged the piece all the way from her inner elbow to the palm of her hand, causing Mirabel to let out a strangled cry of pain. She had to do it now-

"AHHG-"

Cecila's small body crashed into the floor as the taller body on top of her grabbed her hands and bashing them to the ground.

"You'll pay for what you've done to her!"

Fransica snarled as she tightened her grip. Her hair was messy and her skin glowed with a blue hue. She could feel her own skin with warm blood rushing through them, and how her breath heaved from the tackle. She was alive.

"Mirabel! Mija, Oh my god!"

Julieta pulled Mirabel into her lap, grabbing her injured arm trying to hold it closed. There was so much blood, so much that it made holding her arm closed slippery and slick. Feverish Julieta tried to see if she had any extra food.

"Mija, Mija wake up! I'm right here mi corazón."

She patted her cheek trying to wake her up, she was losing too much blood. Julieta laid her down gently before taking her skirt and ripping it with her teeth and hands, making long strands. She murmured quiet reassurances as she grabbed the injured arm and started to wrap the wound tighly, and quickly. Mirabel winced and started to groan in pain.

"Ma-mama?"

"I'm right here

"Lo siento-"

"Shh- be quiet mija. It's not your fault." Julita said softy, her hand cupping her daughters cheek.

For the first time in years, Fransica felt fear. Pure, unaltered fear. Fear for her dearest friend. But right now she needed to this girl down. Cecila's body was twitching under her and she began to howl madly when her arms were forced down. Fransica didn't know what to do. She didn't want to harm Cecila's body but this spirit needed to go.

"Get out of her body."  She hissed out lowering her face, and tightening her grip. She could feel the rage inside of her grow and urge her to bash Cecilas head in  make the spirit leave this girl.

"I don't care what you want to already to late!" The Cecila yelled, as she contorted in such a way that her back bent forwards with her ribs cracking like old wood. All to do one thing.

To lick her blood covered hand. The blood from Mirabel on the glass shard had made its way into Cecilas fingers where the shard had sliced her own palm. The mixing of blood was what Ceclia was after all along. Fransica realized this all too late.

The news really sunk in when Cecila let out a pained screech and her body was limp. Head rolling on the floor; at the same time Mirabels arched up with a inhuman shriek, her eyes glowing a mixture of yellow and red.

In that moment all she could utter out looking at Cecilas now un-possessed body were two words, "Oh fuck.
