Work Text:

Katsuki scowled, kicking a rock as he stuffed his hands in his pockets, looking up at the road. It had been nearly half an hour since school had finished, twenty since he had stood on the road side and ten since his goons had been picked up. He should have been at the same time, yet his lift remained tardy.
Damn parents.
Once again dropping onto the bench with a soft thump, Katsuki slouched and held his hands out in front of him, allowing little explosions to pop. He breathed in diluted puffs of smoke, making his head swim slightly and the smell of caramel made his mouth water. After a few minutes he felt a ache on his wrists and his scowl deepened, keeping up the small pops. If he was going to get stronger, he had to get over small weaknesses - including the damn ringing in his ears when he excessively used his Quirk.

Katsuki only stopped when a car stopped in front of him - one he recognised but had not seen in previous months. The window rolled down, revealing the soft smile of a women he had not seen in more months than the car. Her green hair was a little messier than it used to be, pulled into a bun with a bobble that held on by a thread; skin pale and green eyes dull. Her hands gripped the steering wheel tightly. Nonetheless, Katsuki moved to his Aunties open window.

"Katsuki dear, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be home by now?" He nodded, crimson eyes widening slightly as the nine-year-old crossed his arms and huffed. "I should, but the old hag must've forgot me! Or she's too busy chatting to the sucky neighbours." Inko laughed lightly, unlocking the child locks. "Oh no, I'll take you home." He nodded, rounding the car to get in the other side - only Deku sat in the left side. That had always been his seat ... even if he was no longer going to sit in it again.

He crinkled his nose slightly as he buckled himself in, a bad smell burning his nostrils - as if shopping had been left in the car for too long. Still, he climbed in a buckled his seat belt. Katsuki was a smart boy - he knew that grieving people acted differently. That was the reason why he ignored the usually warning signs; including the lock of the doors once he got in. After all, this was Auntie Inko. She couldn't - wouldn't - do anything to harm Katsuki ... right.

He found himself rambling on about his Quirk training (savagely missing out the parts where his training was going off what her son had analysed only a year earlier) and answering her questions about school. The smell got worse as he idly looked out the window, eyebrows furrowing."This isn't the way home." Inko's hands tightened as she turned into a drive way, large gates closing behind them. Her voice shook as she looked in the mirror to meet Katsuki's eyes.

"Th-This is you h-home now."

"Young Katsuki Bakugou had been missing for three weeks, as has guilt ridden Inko Midoriya. It is suspected the women had abducted the child on the way home from school in attempt to find solace from her Sons friend after his premature death nearly eight months ago. We ask, if anyone has anything information on the whereabouts of young Bakugou or Midoriya, please contact your local authorities immediately."

Katsuki grabbed the side of the television with both hands, unable to stop his own tears as he watched his parents face flicker onto the screen (both sobbing and praying for the safe return of their boy) and gripping tightly.

"Katsuki, dear, you'll hurt your eyes sitting that close to the television."

A soft, but deadly, hand patted his shoulder, pulling him from the television as Katsuki choked on a sob, rubbing ferociously at his cheeks as the women let him by the wall. Inko settled in a chair just to his side, and Katsuki remained tense, hooking his fingers in the clamp around his ankle.

The chain leading to a hook on the wall was thick, heavy, and impossible to break. Maybe, if he had his Quirk, but somehow his palms refused to ignite. At the sound of his Mama's voice his head snapped up, throwing himself forward and onto his hands and knees as the women appeared on screen once again.

His Father had his arm wrapped round her shoulder, using a clothe against his face as she gripped the podium, microphone shaking slightly.

"Please, Inko, let my boy go. If you're seeing this, look me in the eyes and listen to my begging! Let Katsuki come home, ple-"

The screen went blank.

"Why - Why can't I go ho-home?"

Inko stopped her knitting, looking down at Katsuki with a slightly sour look, before gliding her gaze to the photo of her baby boy behind him.

"I always told my baby boy to be careful watching Villain and Hero fights, but his curiosity always got the better of him. I should have been more careful - I shouldn't have let him watch the fight! It was all my fault, Katsuki. I was only in the shop - I was only gone a few minutes and he ... he was only a baby. I'm going to make sure no one hurts you Katsuki, that's why we're here. I'm going to make sure you don't get killed like my baby."

"Behave Katsuki, you don't want the lights off again, would you?"

Tucking his legs closer to his body, Katsuki shook his head, wiping away the tears on his cheek with his sleeves as he looked up at the women daringly. He let out a choked sob. "Ple-Please Auntie! I wan-want my Mama!" She cooed, dropping in front of him and dabbing his cheeks with a clothe, one hand cupping his chin.

"Oh sweetie, your Mama can't keep you safe. I'm sorry, I only want you to behave - I don't want to punish you but if you can't be good I'll have to. Behave for me sweetie, so I can look after you."

Pushing her away, Katsuki found himself screaming, pulling on the chain and throwing the tray of food. "You crazy bitch! Let me go home! Let me go! Let me go! I want to go home! I miss Mama and Papa! You crazy! Argh! Let me go! Please!"

She stood by the door, tutting as her hand reached for the light switch. "I asked nicely, but it appears you have taken my goodwill as a charity. Until you behave and calm down, you will be staying in his in the dark. Goodnight Iz-Katsuki."

"Kacchan! Look! Look! Did you see it?!"

Katsuki pressed his hands against his ears, clenching his eyes shut as he willed the childish yip to go away.

"That's so cool! Your Quirk is amazing! Do you think I'll get a good one too?!"

His teeth grit, nails digging into his skull and pulling at blonde hair as he moved his palms around, trying to make noise to overpower the taunts. It didn't work.

"I'm - Kacchan, ple-please don't be m-mad! I'm Quir-Quirkless."

Choking on a sob, Katsuki jammed his fists into his head, succeeding in nothing but dizziness.

"We're going to be the best Heroes Kacchan!"

"Don't forget about me Kacchan!"

"You're my best friend, right?"

"I'm so-sorry, D-Izuku."

"Can we play again, Kacchan?"
