“As I was saying,” Jet said loudly, over Jin’s laughter, “this couldn’t wait. We’ve all been hearing rumors of the Avatar for the past few months. I ignored them, at first, since it feels like every other week there’s some child or half-decayed gasbag claiming to be able to bend all four elements.” Grin fading, Jet took a sip of tea, eyes sliding over to hold Zuko’s. “But three weeks ago, I met him. I met the Avatar,” Jet said, pausing dramatically, and Jin felt herself leaning forward. Jet knew how to draw people in, and even she wasn’t immune to his tactics. “He’s real.”
