Work Text:

Jinx crowds closer, closer, and Ekko wants so badly for it to be too close, but it isn’t. It could never be close enough.

She pounces on him, almost, in a motion that is way smoother than anything he knows from her. Ekko thinks about how he’s watched her punch the air countless times, and wonders if she’s going to try punching him now. Wonders if he would be able to punch her. Decides that it doesn’t really matter.

(Nothing matters when she looks at him like this, when he can squint and pretend her eyes are still blue.)

Jinx is straddling him, now, her braids hanging behind her, swinging like his pendulum, and there’s a part of him that wants to run away, that wants to push her off him and tell her to fuck off, but there’s an even bigger part of him that wants to pull her close and never let her go again. If he held on to her forever and ever, there’s no way she could harm anyone, right?

I made a monument for you, he thinks, but his mouth is too dry and Jinx leans in and presses her lips to his. Whatever willpower Ekko still had in his bloodstream evaporates now, and there’s nothing he can do against the way his hands find her waist, digging into it, holding on to her so hard he thinks she might bruise. Jinx’ lips move against his, in something that tastes like desperation, and she feels like a scared animal in his arms.

If he bruised her, would the bruises be dark on her pale skin like her tattoos? Would they be easy to see or invisible to the naked eye like his own?

Ekko kisses back, grasps at her, because there is nothing else he can do. In the end, it doesn’t even really matter to him what exactly this is - a plan, a trap, some sort of twisted revenge, whatever. He’s always loved her.

Jinx’ teeth graze against his lip, and his hand rubs up, gropes at her breast through her shirt, and that’s where she draws the line, apparently, because she reels back and stares at him with wide pink eyes that are so unfamiliar Ekko feels like he’s choking.

“Stop looking at me like that.”

I can’t, Ekko thinks. I can’t, I can’t, I can’t. He doesn’t let go of her hips.
