The two were casually talking in Marinette's room. "Hey, Mari," Adrien began, "do you ever... have regrets of being in a relationship with me?" he asked. This question shocked Marinette making her go wide-eyed. "No! Of course not," she held his head in her hands bringing their foreheads together, "you know I love you too much to have regrets" she smiled. He nodded, swallowing hard. It looked like he was going to cry. "Is everything okay?" Marinette tried to make Adrien look at her, but it didn't work.
"Everything is fine."
Marinette stared at him for a moment before speaking, "No. Everything isn't fine."
He looked up at her letting out a sigh. "Don't worry too much" he put his forehead against hers.
"I love you."
"I love you too, idiot."
Marinette then got a text from Alya telling her school was starting soon. "Time to leave!" Marinette giggled as Adrien grabbed her hand, dragging her out of her room and out of the house.
Adrien and Marinette were casually walking to their class holding hands like they always did. Marinette always felt like she was dreaming when she was with Adrien. Their friends always told them that were always so "lovey-dovey" when they were together.
"Mari," he called her out of her thoughts, "I'm going to head to the men's room". She nodded as he walked off. Marinette placed her things down in her classroom, but then, Lila bumped into her. On purpose, as always. "Can you not for once in your life, just stop" Marinette snapped, crossing her arms. Lila just rolled her eyes and walked away.
Marinette then got a bad feeling in her stomach, but she shook it off. Nothing was wrong. Right?
Adrien walked out of the bathroom when his mouth and eyes were covered. He was being dragged somewhere. Although he was trying to scream, nothing came out. Then the dragging stopped, and he was pushed up against a wall. His eyes were then uncovered, revealing Lila as the culprit. She was the one dragging him.
Then the worst thing he could ever imagine happened. Lila began to kiss him. Adrien sat there in shock.
Fifteen minutes passed since Adrien left for the bathroom, and ten minutes since class started. Marinette began to get suspicious of the bad feeling in her stomach, so she raised her hand. "May I go to the bathroom?" she asked. Getting the approval she wanted, Marinette then dashed towards the bathroom.
Then she saw it. The worst thing she could ever see. Adrien and Lila... kissing. Tears formed in Marinette's eyes as she saw the scene. Adrien then pushed Lila off of him, "What the fuck?" he yelled at her, "I have a girlfriend!". Lila smirked, "Doesn't look like she'll trust you anytime soon," she whispered in his ear. Adrien then shoved Lila away from him. "I don't know what you're trying to do, but don't ever kiss me again." Adrien turned to walk away and then saw her. Marinette watched everything. "Marinette I-" she began running away, tears streaming down her face.

It's been a month since they broke up. Marinette had cried in her bed for days, staying home from school just to avoid him. She had many missed calls, and unread texts from him. All of which she keeps ignoring.
Marinette's phone began to blow up with texts from him. She hadn't changed his contact name yet.
Adrien <3: Marinette talk to me, please
Adrien <3: I was shocked, I swear
Adrien <3: I pushed her off of me
Adrien <3: Let me explain please
Adrien <3: I love YOU, not Lila, so please, let me explain
He was right, she should let him explain. Marinette just didn't have the heart to look at him in the face right now.
Marinette went out for a walk for the first time in forever. She sighed, her hand felt so cold without his. Tears began to form in her eyes. She ran into an alleyway and just bawled her eyes out.
Adrien heard crying near an alleyway, "Hello?" he called out. No response. He shrugged, how bad could it go? It's not like it's Marinette in that alleyway, right?
Marinette went stiff when she heard his voice, "Fuck..." she mumbled. "Marinette?!" Adrien exclaimed as he looked down the alleyway. She hid her face and just waved her hand, staying quiet.
He walked over to her and sat down a few feet away from her. "So... how have you been?", he asked trying to make a conversation. "Fine" she sniffled, but he wasn't buying it. "Marinette you're literally crying in an alleyway." He had a point, but would she admit that? No.
Marinette sighed, and Adrien spoke up again. "I miss you."
She missed him too, she'll admit that. She wouldn't say it out loud though. She isn't talking because if she does, she'll begin crying again. Marinette didn't want to cry in front of him. It would make her feel weaker than she already is.
"Marinette, talk to me..." his voice trailed off as he began to stand up, she stayed quiet. "Okay fine, I'll leave then." He turned to leave and Marinette grabbed his wrist, "Stay." Her voice was able to at least make a whisper. He sat down next to the fragile female. "Can I explain?" Adrien asked quietly, Marinette nodded. "Lila kissed me, not the other way around. I was just in shock for a moment, and when I realized what was happening. I pushed her off of me" he grabbed both of Marinette's hands and faced her, "So, please... forgive me?".
"I should be the one saying forgive me" Marinette wiped her tears as she giggled. "Forgive me, Adrien. I overreacted," she looked at him with pleading eyes. "Marinette, of course I forgive you" he grabbed her cheeks and pulled her into a soft passionate kiss.
"Can we get back together?" Marinette asked. Adrien looked at her with a 'Duh' expression, "Yes, I love you so much Mari".
Moral of the story for Marinette... is don't overreact.
