Notes:

Work Text:

As Crowley sauntered around Aziraphales shop, he stopped to look at the high rows of books that lined the shelves. Aziraphales collection was vast, and he knew the angel wanted to keep it that, forcing his own customers out of the door empty handed to do so.

The demon walked towards the backroom, which contained sofas for him to stretch out on In front of his lamp to warm his blood up and looked around nowhere in sight was the angel, well he guessed he would just have to wait.

The demon stretched out as far as his limbs could reaching towards the heat emitting from the lamps and radiator that lay next to the sofa as he lay down.
Reaching up to his face he pulled off the shadowy glasses that usually framed his face to reveal the glowing eyes that lay behind them. He usually wore them to stop people from running and so he could actually interact with others yet in the backrooms of Azira’s shop he felt safe. It was a weird feeling that filled the demon, yet it was true.

He fully took of the shades and folded them placing them on the table that housed the lamp he cuddled up to. Placing them gently he hid them within the shadows reminding himself to pick them up later.

He continued to lay looking at duck pictures that showed up on his feed to pass the time as he heard the door to the shop open and heard the clicking of polished shoes hitting the shop floor.

“Ah, so it is you in here then Crowley.” Spoke the new inhabiter of the room.

“Alrite angel?” Crowley spoke in response.

“I’m good my dear, how have you been?”

“Been better but you know how it is.”

“I’m sure you will be fine.” spoke the lighter of the two, “tea?”

“No thanks just came in to drop this off.” Spoke Crowley as he handed Aziraphale the package the angel had mistakenly ordered to his flat.
“Oh, thank you well ill see you on your way then.”

“No need see you tomorrow angel.” Crowley told Aziraphale in speed.

“Alright then, see you tomorrow dear boy.” Spoke Aziraphale as Crowley slinked round the doorframe that hid the rest of the shop from them. Aziraphale heard the door slam as the demon made his way out and as he himself started to slip into his reading chair.

He picked up the current book he was reading, which was glowing due to the orange light that illuminated his workspace and continued to read getting lost in the tale.

---------------the time skip brought to you by “thee southern pansy.” ---------------

As Aziraphale started towards the end of his book he noticed the suspicious shaped shadow that started to lay over some of the words as he fiddled in his chair unable to sit still.

Finally getting annoyed he looked towards the source only to find a pair of shadowy glasses laid across his small table. ‘Crowley must have forgot them’ thought the Angel. ‘He has so many pairs, he surely won’t miss these ones.’

Aziraphale stood from his position at his desk and stalked his way to the invading presence of darkness that lay in front of him.
Reaching over the angel unfolded the glasses and held them out in front of him. Surely it wouldn’t be such a crime to try them on, he’d always seen them on Crowley’s face as if they were glued there and now, he just wanted to know how it felt.

Aziraphale placed the glasses on his face and instantly the light in the room fell, it felt as if the whole room had been placed into shadow, as if a rain cloud was covering the shop as a whole.

Aziraphale felt dark and dirty and not right at all until a feeling ripped him out of it all as a hand lay on his shoulders.

“So, you stole my glasses huh angel, not very angelic of you now is it.”

Aziraphale instantly knew it was Crowley talking, the accent being the giveaway.

“Well dear, it seems that you’d left them here and I was just wanting to know how they felt to wear.”

“They look good you know.” Was the response.

“Well thank you Anthony.” Spoke Aziraphale his prize-winning smile pasted on his face with a rose blush contouring it. “Wait a minute were you looking for them is that why you came back? If so, here my dear boy and I guess ill see you tomorrow?”

“You do know it’s the next day don’t you angel?”

“What?” was the only word the angel responded with.

“Yeah, did you not know?”

“It seems I must have lost track of time while reading.” Aziraphale blushed.

“You must have, well you ready for lunch anyway?”

“Um I guess so my boy, well here are your glasses back, let’s not scare the other patrons now should we.” Told Aziraphale.

“Maybe wouldn’t be the smartest” said Crowley reaching over towards Aziraphale to retrieve his Glasses back. Crowley bent over till his and Aziraphales face matched in height and were only cm away. Aziraphale felt his face heat as Crowley grabbed the glasses from out of his clutches and felt even more warmness from when Crowley’s lips met his own. Slightly chapped the two spent a sweet kiss together it only lasted a couple of seconds but was enough to share all the pent-up emotions between them.

Crowley placed his shades back on covering the glowing eyes that used to stare at the angel.

“Let’s go angel come on.”

“Um, yeah, um sure dear let’s go.”
