Work Text:

Dabi groaned when his phone started ringing for the third time. He already told Hawks that he was not going to make it to their meetup. Was bird brain so dense?

He dug his phone out of his pocket and clicked answer.

“What?” he practically growled out, still making his way towards the commission building.

“Wow. What crawled up your ass this morning?”

Dabi rolled his eyes at Compress’ quip. “It’s the afternoon. And I’m a bit busy looking for a kid. So, what do you want?”

“Well, it turns out Kurogiri accidentally kidnapped All For One’s kid, and we’re having a meeting to discuss what to do with him.”

Dabi snorted. Of course, the quiet, calm, do-no-wrong demeanor Kurogiri kidnapped a kid.

“Sounds amazing, but sorry. Y’all are going to have to figure out what to do with the boss’ kid-”

"Should I add Dad to this chat since I fell on him?"

“Shit! That’s the kid I’m looking for!”

“What?” Compress asked.

“Izuku got kidnapped by the Commission, and so I’ve been on the lookout in case he escapes!” Dabi explained, too worried about the kid to keep his typical lack of care attitude. “Have you already called blood bitch?”

“Not yet. I was hoping she would be with you.”

Dabi shook his head, just barely keeping himself from falling as he sprinted around a corner. “We split up. I’ll be there in a few minutes. Make sure to specify that you found Izuku!”

He quickly hung up and started sprinting even faster. Kami was he out of shape.

It was not long before he was bursting through the doors to their new hideout, ducking to avoid two knives from Spinner. A marble too, actually. He ignored their confused shouts and kneeled beside Izuku, who was limp on the couch.

“Has anyone taken care of his wounds?”

“We were scared of waking him up,” Compress admitted. “He’s All For One’s son. Who knows what kind of quirk he has?”

“Yeah! We don’t want him hurting us! Let him at me! I can take it!

“He’s quirkless. Did you not see his shoes?”

Six pairs of eyes shifted to the kid’s feet, where he was wearing bright red shoes.

“What about his shoes?” Kurogiri asked, confusion in his voice.

“They’re a specific brand for the quirkless. One of my brothers wore them for a while before the bastard commissioned some to keep people from finding out he was quirkless. The shoes are bigger to compensate for the extra toe joint.”

Unseen to Dabi was Shigaraki staring down at his own shoes with deep consideration.

He unconsciously brushed his hand over Izuku’s forehead, and the kid nuzzled into the warmth. “Spinner, grab the first aid kit?”

Spinner stared at Dabi in confusion for a moment, surprised the guy failed to call him ‘Lizard’. He was about to comment on it, when a hand landed on his shoulder.

“Hush,” Magne started, whispering to Spinner, “What we’re witnessing is an older brother in his natural habitat.”

“You don't need to be scared of his quirk, but if you don't get me a fucking first aid kit, you sure as hell will need to be afraid of mine,” Dabi tacked on, sending a terrifying smirk towards the two.

Eventually, Spinner just hummed and moved to grab the first aid kit.

The door burst open once again, and Dabi instinctively crouched over Izuku protectively.

“Izu-chan!”

He calmed down and let Toga join him on the ground beside Izuku. She took one look at his wounds and turned to point at Twice.

“Measure him! He needs blood!”

“But why measure him? Can’t one of us give him blood?” Compress asked.

“He’s O-! He can only take O-! So, we need another him cause O- blood is rare as shit!”

“Language-”

“Yeah, I can measure him! Hell, no! He’ll kill me!

“I’m O-?”

All eyes snapped to Kurogiri, who was weakly holding up a hand with a confused look.

“You’re O-?” Dabi asked, worried by the confusion in Kurogiri’s voice.

“Look, I don’t remember finding out I’m O-, but I know I am.”

“That’s not safe to trust,” Compress stated.

“I can test your blood,” Toga said. “I can taste what kind of blood you have.”

“You can? That’s so weird. That’s downright disturbing!” Twice exclaimed as Spinner got a needle ready to put in Kurogiri’s arm.

“I kinda can’t see the vein dude.”

Kurogiri said nothing, but the mist did move away from his arm. Spinner shivered before sticking the needle in Kurogiri’s arm. Toga quickly bounce over and got a drop of blood and tasted it.

“He’s not wrong! O-!”

“Wait, I’m still confused about the shoe thing,” Shigaraki started, looking around between everyone.

“What about it?” Dabi asked without looking, more worried about patching up Izuku’s wounds.

“Can someone still wear the shoes if they have a quirk?”

“I guess? Like, they would be a bit big. Or, you can have the joint but have a forced manifestation.”

“Forced manifestation?”

“Means you were forced to develop a quirk,” Dabi explained, turning to glare at Shigaraki. “You go through stress or a near death experience and your body forces you to develop- a usually fairly dangerous -quirk. Answered your questions?”

He noticed the way Shigaraki was glancing at his shoes, and looked down, his eyes widening at the sight.

“Oh, shit. What happened?”

“I don’t remember.”

“Got the blood!”

Toga ran over and stuck the needle in Izuku’s arm, smiling as blood started going into the kid.

“Now, we just wait for him to wake up.”

“I’ll watch him,” Dabi and Toga said at the same time.

“Copy that! We’ll stay out of the way.”

Dabi laid down on the floor besides the couch as Toga crawled onto the top. No one was going to get Izuku if they had any say.

Keigo frowned as he followed the directions of the GPS. ‘Emo Bro’ and ‘Stabby Sister’ had stopped responding to messages, and the rest of them were worried those two got captured. So, Keigo had offered to follow the last location on their phones.

He found the entrance to the building the signal was coming from, and opened the door easily, on his guard. It quickly fell when he saw no danger.

“Dabi, who got back?”

“You’re on top of the couch, why don’t you look?”

Keigo met eyes with a blonde, who freaked out and fell over the side of the couch onto the cushions.

“Ow! You fuckers, I thought you were done for now!”

“Sorry, Izu-chan!”

“Ow! Don’t just flop on me blood bitch!”

“The number two is here!”

“Ah, fuck! Wait-Hawks? What…”

“Hawks? That’s-Dad!”

A head of green curls popped up over the couch, and Keigo felt a relieved breath leave him.

“Izuku!”

Keigo quickly glided over and picked the kid up, careful of the obvious injuries he could see. Izuku wrapped his arms and legs around Keigo in return, holding on tight to his jacket.

“Why didn’t you fuckers tell me you found him?!”

“In our defense, we were more worried about his injuries,” Dabi pointed out.

Keigo growled, but just ran his fingers through Izuku’s hair. “Hey, baby bird.”

“Dad,” Izuku whined, trying to hold Keigo tighter.

“I know. It’s okay. Two of your friends are here too. The villain ones. Which, of course you would make friends with the league.”

“Only two of them! I plan to with my cousin though.”

“Cousin?” Toga asked, head tilting.

“Shigaraki is technically my cousin on my mom’s side. Dad told me when I visited him.”

“Who let you do that?” Keigo asked, pulling Izuku away a bit to look at his smirking face.

“Nedzu.”

“Of course that rat did.”

“Stoat.”

“Whatever!”
