The Truth Part 2?

Chapter 5: Learning To Trust

Notes:

Author’s Note: I’m really sorry for the long wait on this. I’ve just been pretty busy with school lately, but I promise I’ll try to update as much as I can again. Anyway I hope you enjoy and please let me know what you all thought.

Chapter Text

“I guess we should start with introductions again?” Tessa told Evie who just nodded as she was still unsure by these four older girls.

“Yes, let's start with that. You said you’re my sisters but I only have one sister so who are you really! Are you evil clones sent to kill me!” Evie cried out in panic making the older four lose it as they started laughing at how ridiculous that sounded.

“Yup you caught us we’re evil clones sent to kill you,” Lola jokingly told the younger teen making Evie back up as she grabbed her mirror and ran to the crib. “I knew it!” Evie practically screamed out as she started shaking like a scared animal.

“Lola, that wasn’t funny!” April told Lola, making Lola roll her eyes as she wasn’t used to this sensitive version of Evie and didn’t know Evie was going to react like that. It was obvious she had just been playing around.

“Evie, she was kidding. Can you please come back over here? No one is going to hurt you. We’re not evil clones,” Ava told her sister who shook her head no as she backed up more.

“How do I know I can trust you!” Evie told Ava as she wanted to trust them, but she knew her mom would do anything to get back at her and she was mad at her right now for not stealing the wand.

“I promise you we’re actual people,” Tessa told Evie who just nodded as she still stayed in her spot refusing to move from it.

“Prove it!” Evie cried out again making the others sigh as they didn’t know what Evie wanted them to prove.

“Okay here’s proof. This is a video I swore to never tell anyone about because it’s so embarrassing and almost ruined my life but if this will help,” April told Evie as she hesitantly found the video she was looking for and clicked on it.

“What is this?” Evie asked as she looked at the phone with the video. “It’s a video of me at an audition where I messed up really badly. Just watch,” April told Evie who just started laughing as she watched the video.

“Oh my gosh that’s hilarious! You actually did that!” Evie told April as she kept laughing and watching the video. “Yeah I did so is that enough proof?” April asked

Evie as she was really regretting bringing that video back up.

Evie just nodded as she handed the phone back to April. “Yeah I believe you there’s no way that isn’t real but I’m still not too sure about anyone else. I still need proof,” Evie told them all.

Ava just sighed as she typed the name Ava Jalali into her phone. She hated bringing up her past, but if that’s what it took to convince this younger Evie that they were real people and not just clones then it would have to do.

Ava shuddered as she watched all the articles pop up as soon as she typed her name in. She didn’t really understand how all this worked but for some reason the articles were still available.

“Okay here’s proof. I was adopted and this is my adopted family,” Ava told Evie as she handed her the phone and let Evie read through the articles.

“Okay wow I’m so sorry that happened to you. If it helps our biological mom is even worse than that so you dodged a bullet I would say,” Evie told Ava who just laughed a little as she nodded.

“So I take it, you believe me?” Ava asked Evie who smiled. “Yeah I believe you. I’m still not completely sure about those two but I do believe for the most part now that you’re all telling the truth,” Evie told the others who just smiled and sighed in relief as they hated having to bring up their past just to prove they were who they said they were.

“Okay so now that I believe that you’re actually my sisters and not just some evil clones sent to kill me I guess we should discuss what to do now. Okay so Fairy Godmother doesn’t know about you which could be a huge issue. She basically runs this school and…” Evie began but was interrupted by the others again who could tell Evie was starting to get panicky again.

“Relax, dude it's fine. We didn’t grow up on the Isle so it’s not like we’re prisoners or anything. I seriously doubt she’s gonna punish a kid for seeing her sisters,” Lola told Evie who just slowly nodded as she realized that was true.

“Okay yeah you’re probably right. If she does come in though please try to hide. I just don’t want to risk it right now,” Evie told her sisters who just sighed and nodded as they thought that was a little ridiculous, but they didn’t want to upset Evie anymore.

“Okay good so um I actually have to try and catch up on some homework that’s due Monday. Make yourselves comfortable but try to keep the noise down because Mal’s sleeping and also like I said I’ll be doing homework,” Evie told her sisters again as she grabbed her backpack and pulled out all her homework.

Once Evie had her homework out she started trying to work on it, but found that she was having trouble understanding it. Evie just groaned to herself as she just continued to try and act like she knew what she was doing when it was obvious she had no clue.

“Hey you okay?” Ava asked Evie once everyone else had gone off to bed as they were tired.“Oh um yeah I’m fine,” Evie told Ava as she didn’t want to admit she needed help.

“You sure because you look kinda frustrated and upset,” Ava told Evie in her best gentle voice. Ava hated seeing Evie struggling and she could tell Evie needed help with the homework but she also knew her sister could be stubborn sometimes.

Evie just sighed as she looked down at her work again. “Okay you got me! I’m so tired and I just want to sleep but this homework is due Monday and I’m way too busy tomorrow to do it! Ugh it’s just so confusing and I don’t understand any of it!” Evie cried out as she looked at Ava.

“Evie, it's okay come here,” Ava told Evie who just nodded as she went over to Ava who just pulled her into a hug. “Okay now can I see the homework?” Ava asked Evie once Evie had calmed down.

“Yeah but it’s super confusing and impossible,” Evie told Ava as she handed the sheet to the older girl who smiled as she realized she easily knew everything on the paper.

“Okay I remember this stuff. Do you want me to help?” Ava asked Evie who nodded. “Yes please it’s so confusing,” Evie told Ava who smiled as she grabbed a pencil and sat down at the desk by Evie.

“And there we go homework done. You’re welcome,” Ava playfully told Evie once they had finally finished the homework, making the young teen laugh as she hugged Ava again.

“Okay but like seriously thank you so much. I literally owe you,” Evie told Ava who just smiled as she was enjoying getting to be the big sister for once and she found this Evie to be just so adorable.

“Just doing my job,” Ava jokingly told Evie who laughed again before yawning. “Yeah well either way thank you so much. Anyway I’m exhausted and I just know tomorrow is gonna be a crazy day,” Evie told Ava who nodded as she was tired as well.

“Yeah for sure and it’s definitely getting late. Goodnight,” Ava told Evie who nodded as she got into her bed and crashed right away as she had just had a very long day full of many surprises and she just knew she was in for some big adventures.
