Chapter Text
It was open. Honerva had done it. She pierced the barriers between realities.
Hunk drops off his passengers and the Paladins fight off two robeasts. Lance goes for Honerva, only to be caught.
"NO!"
The Atlas saves him and everyone can breathe again.
Stopping the collapsing universe is all on Coran.
And Voltron and the Atlas struggle to even hold their own.
But an Altean helps them and the tide of battle begins to change.
Both robeasts are dealt with and Coran has a plan.
And they are so close, but she pierces realities and it's over.
But it isn't. It isn't over yet, not as long as they have hope.
And the Balmeras converge and no one could've expected Voltron and the Atlas to become one and boost each other.
Finally, all six Paladins fight together once more.
———
They come across a crumbling Altea.
Keith hates this. The quintessence is different and there's so much of it that's wrong and they are dying-
It's been a long time since Keith was so close to a dying planet. This time, it's a whole reality.
They continue their chase, discovering more realities being destroyed.
Only to be attacked by Honerva.
Except this time? This time they can throw her power back at her.
———
Coran and the Alteans manage a temporary countermeasure with the Balmeras' help and, after 10000 deca-phoebs, Galra and Alteans work together for the greater good once again.
———
Alpha Voltron dodges a barrage and attacks back, but Honerva dodges and gets two hits in, allowing her to pin them. They feel her drain their energy and all they can do is lie there, exhausted.
"We need to get up," Lance growls.
"I can't move," Hunk replies.
Shiro says something, but Keith can only stare at his hand, now limp at his side. Huh... he always did look good in red...
He does wish he could've worn some other colours though... a bit of black, yellow, green, blue and maybe even some orange and pink... those would be nice...
Oh... this reality is almost gone too...
"-done the impossible. Our strength is our bond," that's right, isn't it? Just ignore the corrupted quintessence trying to pull you down. It's almost over, "Our power comes from each other. As long as we're a team, a family, we stand a chance. Sendak, Zarkon, Lotor. We've saved our universe countless times, but now all realities are in need of Voltron, of us, so we can't let this be the end, we need to get back up and stop Honerva once and for all!"
Get up and finish this, then you can all rest and maybe watch some more of the Voltron show.
You can all make it.
———
Except their reality didn't.
Keith gasps and clenches his fists around the controls.
Coran and Bandor and Ulaz and Antok and Kolivan and so many others wiped out, in one moment.
Keith hates this.
———
Honerva is welcomed by her husband the moment he recognises her. He's here and he wants her.
But her child is not here. She's had 10000 deca-phoebs at this man's side, even if he wasn't this man, and she is a mother. She needs to see her child.
Her child resides on Altea.
And so does this reality's Princess Allura, this time, however, she does not stop Honerva from reaching her goals. Instead, she shows her the way.
Honerva ignores the feeling of anger in the air as they pass the Red Lion's hangar, the anger of a mother Honerva knows too well.
And there he is, not looking at her, but she can see him, so small and young and innocent and perfect and hers.
And then he looks at her, with so much love and joy and trust in his eyes and she holds her arms out wide, ready to have him run to her so she could embrace him like she should have so long ago and never let him go again.
But he stops.
Zarkon tells him that it is okay, that it is his mother.
But Lotor?
Lotor can feel their screams.
He can hear his own voice, older, desperate, telling him to run whilst that is still an option.
Father always says he should trust himself.
"She's not my mother."
And then the stranger makes a demand.
His elder's voice screams in warning.
"She is not my mother," Lotor is sure of that now.
His father tells him not to speak like that and she reaches out for him and he wants to run to her and be embraced by her, but...
"No."
Lotor knows the truth.
"My mother is dead and you cannot replace her."
Father accepts his view and steps in front of the stranger, letting him wrap his arms around his leg. Father is safe and will protect him. He can trust this man, because his father has always been his father first.
The imposter does not take kindly to his father asking for time.
———
Αlpha Voltron makes it.
Honerva does not like that.
