Work Text:
“I feel like we’re at a middle school sleepover,” Patty says under her breath to Holtzmann, who clicks her teeth in agreement. But Patty just keeps lighting candles and tries not to show her skepticism to Erin and Abby.
Cases have been running thin, and they need a good haunting to scare up the publicity to make rent on the firehouse.
“Okay,” Patty says, finally, after all 54 candles have been lit. They make a circle in the center of the old mansion’s basement floor. “This feels stupid.”
“It’ll work!” Abby insists.
“That’s why it feels stupid.” Patty frowns harder.
