Chapter Text

Adrien gasped for breath. Plagg flying around him panicking slightly.

He looked down onto his hands before he felt the dread. Familiar earrings he would always see on his lady. “You knew it was her Plagg?”

Plagg nodded his head. Adrien clutched the earrings close.

“What are you going to do kid?”

“Save her.” Adrien pulled his ring and placed it in Plagg’s hands. “Judging by her scale she probably can tell the truth and a lie. Hide Plagg. Not until she’s defeated.”

Tikki flew out of the earrings with a somber smile. “Please help her.”

“I will.”

Mister Bug launched forward holding the sword back. “Everyone has to leave. Now!”

“Let go of me!” Princess tried to yank her hand away.

Mister Bug grinned. “Now now Princess. You can’t just attack everyone with your sword.”

Princess Justice kicked his knee making him drop a little. “Oh yes I can.”

She jumped forward to block the door. Mister Bug slammed into her, smashing her against the wall. “Princess! Don’t attack them. Maybe we can talk about this over coffee.”

“I’ll be dealing with you later Bugaboy~ But they have to pay. They all have to pay for leaving her.” She spat out, venom lacing every word. Princess pushed herself off the wall as she slammed him onto the teacher’s desk.

Mister Bug releases her as he stumbles back.

“Alya Cesaire.” She pointed her sword at her. “How do you plead?”

“Marinette I’m your best friend.”

Princess Justice growled. “A best friend that leaves me for her? Some friend you are.” She let the sharp tip rest on her neck. “How do you plead?”

Alya closed her eyes. “Guilty? I’m so sorry girl. I didn’t know.”

She giggled. “Didn’t know? Didn’t know?! And you call yourself a journalist.”

Mister Bug grabbed her from her back. “Alya! Go.” Alya scrambled up as she ran out of the school.

“Bug~ You can’t stop me forever.”

Mister Bug releases her with a smirk. “You’re right. So judge me. Right now.”

Princess only scowled. “Why would I? All I need is your miraculous. Where’s your ring?”

Mister Bug shrugged. “Who knows where it is.”

The scales slammed to the side. Princess only snickered. “So you don’t know where it is either? Smart for a cat… But you’re wasting my time.”

Mister Bug shook his head. “I humbly asked to be judged. Nothing more.”

“Now why should I judge you?” Princess scraped the floor with her sword. “You’re not in my class… You’re not the one that left me alone.”

Mister Bug chose his words carefully as he grinned. “How do you know I’m not?”

“Are you in my class?”

Mister Bug hummed. “Well Princess, that depends. Mister Bug is a superhero after all.”

“You’re avoiding the question Bug. Are you in the class roster?”

“Considering you are the President of the class you would have definitely seen the class roster. I’m sure you can figure it out on your own Princess.”

Princess Justice searched his gaze before giggling. “Oh Bug~ Trying to stop me from finding my classmates? I see your plan. So I guess that leaves me with one thing.”

Mister Bug swung the yo-yo taking a stance. “With what?”

“Your earrings have to come off first!” She swung her sword intended to hit Mister Bug. He ducked. Using his yo-yo he wrapped her hand up and smacked the sword out of her hand.

Mister Bug pulled her to lean on him as he grinned “Aw M’lady, didn’t know you wanted to be so close to me.”

She scowled. “Bug! Stop messing around and give me my earrings.”

“Your earrings? No. These were Marinette’s earrings. I’ll give them back. But only to Marinette. Come on Marinette, I know you’re still there.”

She giggled. “Aw, you’re so sweet. But Marinette’s taking a nap. She can’t hear anything you’re saying.”

Mister Bug held onto her tighter. “You have to break free from Hawkmoth Marinette.”

“Let go of me Bug.” Princess Justice hastily kicked her legs. He didn’t flinch when her leg started to kick him.

“Come back Marinette. Come back to me.”

“I… don’t want too. I just want to watch everyone BURN.”

Mister Bug grunted, trying to hold her in place. “You don’t believe that Marinette. Please, you have to fight your way out. Stop the akuma.”

Princess Justice laughed. “Bug, telling me a sappy story isn’t going to make any of this better. Give me my earrings.”

“No. Not unless Marinette is asking me.”

Princess Justice stuck her tongue out. “Ugh, Marinette this and Marinette that. I’m sick of hearing that name. Even when everyone was ignoring her, they still asked for her help. It was sickening that she would still agree to help with anything.”

“Marinette is the nicest person ever. You should know that. Even when you were being avoided by everyone you still kept the city safe. I’m sorry I didn’t know you were being hurt by the liar. But I’m here now. Please Marinette.”

“With my new powers I won’t be the one that’s hurt. It will be everyone else. Everyone else that made her suffer enough.” She struggled again as she held a hand up.

“You know you don’t want that. Marinette you can’t hurt any of them. Don’t fight me. Fight Hawkmoth.”

“Oh Bugaboy, I’ll fight everyone!” The sword smacked into her hand as she swung it at Mister Bug. “Hawkmoth made us suffer too. He deserves to be burned more than anyone else.”

“I agree with that.” He held her hand holding the sword. “But not as an akuma M’lady.”

“Shut up Hawkmoth. When I find you, I will tear you to pieces.”

“Then… what’s the point of getting your earrings back?”

Princess Justice giggled. “So that no one can stop me Bugaboy.” She stomped his foot as she struggled out of his arms. “Give me the earrings Bugaboy.”

Mister Bug backed away. “Marinette maybe think this through?”

“It’s a bummer that Marinette isn’t here to care Bug.”

“Aw, come on Marinette. How could you lose your Kitty? Besides I think Marinette is still here. You would have stabbed me if you weren’t.”

Princess Justice scowled. “Did you want to get stabbed? That can be arranged.”

Mister Bug launched his yo-yo to grab her wrist. “Why don’t you want to judge me anyway? Cats are liars aren’t they? Unless…”

Princess Justice snorts. “You’re just in my way. I just want the earrings from you, nothing more.”

“You think your scale will make me not guilty. You don’t want that to happen.” Mister Bug grinned.

“That’s not at all what’s happening.” Her scale immediately slammed to the lies.

“You’re lying to yourself M’lady.”

“I-I’m not! I can judge you right now.” She pointed the sword at him with a frown and furrowed eyebrows. “Mister Bug, how do you plead?”

Her scale tilted to the truth making her scowl. The flames started to die out slowly.

“I’m not guilty M’lady.” He took a step towards her. “I’m not guilty of being happy with you.” She backed away.

“I’m not guilty of leaving you behind because of Lila. I said I would love whoever was under the mask. I never lied there either.”

Princess Justice walked into the wall behind her. “N-no… I need this. I can’t let it go.”

“Marinette you have to let the akuma go. It’s not good for you. You know that.”

“What if I do?” She blinked her tears away as she looked away from him. “No one will be my friend anymore. Everyone… left me.”

Mister Bug tilts her chin to look at him. “You exposed the truth didn’t you? Lila will get her justice. But for now I want my Bug back.”

Princess Justice dropped her sword as she hugged Mister Bug tight. “Don’t leave me Kitty.”

“You know I won’t. Force it out.” Mister Bug hugged her tight. “You need to force the akuma out M’lady.”

At those words, a butterfly immediately flew out of her bag. Princess Justice being replaced by Marinette, trembling in his arms.

Mister Bug removed her from his grasp as he caught the butterfly. He smiled at her. “Come on Bug. I’ll bring you home.”

Marinette sniffled and nodded her head. Mister Bug carried her in his arms as he walked to the exit.

Alya walked over, with a worried expression. “Hey Mari-”

Mister Bug scowled at her as he turned to hide her away. “Leave her alone.” He looked at the rest of the class walking over. He clutched her tighter. “All of you leave her alone. You’ve done enough to her.”

Marinette poked his arm. “Kitty? It’s ok...”

Mister Bug shook his head. “It’s not ok Princess. None of them deserve you.” He fought the urge to give her a kiss. He turned to look at the class with a frown as he jumped out of the school. He landed on her balcony, slowly letting her down.

Marinette turned to the trap door.

“Spots off.”

She froze.

“Do you want to see me Bug?”

Marinette nodded her head.

“You know you have to turn around to see me first right?”

“I know Kitty… But it’s going to be so strange.”

“Strange because you’ll finally see me without my mask? Or finally fall in love with me?”

“Fall in love with you? You’d have to be Adrien first…”

She heard him snicker. “You were in love with Adrien? Really?”

“Why? Jealous Kitty?”

She felt his hand touching her arm. “I’d need you to turn around first to find out why I’m laughing.”

Marinette turned around her eyes closed. “You sure?”

“Open your eyes Bug. You won’t be disappointed.”

Marinette cracked her eyes open before gaping. Adrien winked. “Hey there Bugaboo.”
