Chapter Text

Several weeks had passed after the Warrior of Light last made his appearance. Her friend had sent Luna a Moogle letter detailing to her how he had encouraged his allies to visit her establishment. Feeling excited, Luna kept herself busy night after night at the bar. Hoping to one day meet the warrior’s friends.

The night finally occurred when a tall pair of men entered the establishment. Luna gave the Hyur and Elezen a polite bow as she showed them both to a table. The Hyur had ash white hair and twin tattoos on his neck. Sporting a large gunblade on the outside of his equally white coat. While the Elezen had the same tattoo on his cheek, but wore the black robes of an Astrologian.

“Greetings, and welcome to Sol Luna. Is this your first time here?” Luna said sweetly to the pair while handing them each a menu. After studying the menu, the Hyur was the first to speak up.

“Our friend told us to come, saying that the proprietress mixes the finest drinks in all of Eorzea.” He said flirtatiously.

“That would be I. Pleased to make your acquaintance, my name is Luna.” The Miqo’te replied, remaining professional. This wasn’t the first time she’d encountered patrons looking for more than a drink. Thankfully the Elezen seemed to be of a much more polite demeanor.

“Tis a pleasure lady Luna. My name is Urianger, and this brute is Thancred. We are friends of the Warrior of Light.” Urianger responded to Luna before sending Thancred a cross look.

“Ah, so you must be his Scion friends?” Luna said excitedly, her tail swishing behind her.

“Two of them, but aye my lady. The Warrior bade us to send thou his regards. Tis regrettable that he could not accompany us this evening when making thine acquaintance.” Urianger replied, smiling at the Miqo’te. The Warrior had warned the Scions that Luna was a long-time friend of his. And when Thancred expressed his interest in meeting the proprietress, Urianger reluctantly agreed to accompany him. If only to keep the Hyur in check from his ardor.

“I’m glad to hear that he is doing well nonetheless. What can I get you two?” Luna responded to Urianger.

“I’ll have the Meteor ale, and leave the bottle if you please love.” Thancred said, ignoring Urianger’s silent protest.

“It’s strong stuff, I presume you’ll require two glasses to share?” Luna inquired. Meteor was a custom ale that she’d painstakingly brewed herself. It took many moons to mature and had a very high alcohol content as a result.

“Urianger doesn’t drink.” Thancred replied. Urianger paled at the thought of such a strong drink. After a few bad experiences in his younger years at the Studium, the scholar had sworn off most alcohols.

“In that case, I have a very nice tea that my friend created for her café. She sources the leaves from the Botanist Guild in Gridania and dries them herself.” Luna said to Urianger. The tea was a newer edition to the menu, so it wasn’t listed yet.

“That would be lovely, my lady.” Urianger said, feeling a little more at ease.

Luna bowed again as she left the two and retrieved their orders.

--------------------------------------------------------------

A few hours later, the night was in full swing as Luna attended to her patrons. The Bard was playing, and everyone seemed to be in a merry state.

Checking in on the two Scions, she noted that Urianger was enjoying his pot of tea immensely. And Thancred...was wasted. Thankfully after his second bottle of Meteor, Luna swapped his order to one of her lighter ales. Partially so that the Scion would not puke all over her establishment, but also so that he didn’t deplete her limited inventory. Not that he’d seemed to notice the change. It was almost impressive how much he could drink and still not fall over. But with his inebriation, his flirtations had become more bold.

“Pretty barkeep, another refill if you will!” Thancred shouted as Luna was wiping down the counter. She sighed and instead brought over a tall glass of water to the Hyur.

“Mayhap you, my friend, have had enough for one night.” She said as she placed the glass on the table while collecting the numerous bottles.

“Urianger, would you like another pot of tea?” Luna offered to the quiet Elezen. He had been thoroughly enjoying the Bard’s performance while Thancred had spent the night trying to get the attention of the bar owner.

“No thank you, my lady. In fact, we’d best take our leave.” Urianger responded, cringing at how uncouth Thancred had become. Luna nodded while she fetched them their bill.

As Luna approached their table again, thankfully Thancred had started drinking his water. But it would be a while before he completely sobered up. As she’d bent to hand over the ticket to Urianger, Thancred suddenly pulled the Miqo’te into his lap. An audible squeak was heard as the Hyur stroked her tail suggestively.

“That’s a cute sound, I wonder what other sounds I can extract from those lips of yours.” He purred while his other hand fingered the laces of Luna’s corset.

Urianger watched in horror. However Luna gave him a quick wink, silently telling the Elezen that she knew how to handle herself.

“Oh darling…..” She said sweetly as she turned on Thancred’s leg to face him. She deftly extracted his hand from her tail as she wound her other hand into his hair. His eyes glazed over in lust as she appeared to return his affections.

“It brings me such joy…..that you won’t remember any of this.” She continued. Before Thancred could respond, Luna slammed his head down onto the table in front of him. Thancred passed out, losing consciousness from the blunt force trauma combined with the large amount of alcohol he consumed. Feeling satisfied, Luna untangled herself from the man’s lap and stood up again.

Urianger stifled a laugh as he rose to collect his fellow Scion. He pulled the Hyur’s arm around his shoulder while lifting Thancred to his feet.

“That was quite a fearsome display, my lady. Pray you would forgive my foolish friend here.” Urianger said to the Miqo’te.

“Tis quite alright. What kind of proprietress would I be if I couldn’t handle an unruly patron or two?” Luna said, shrugging. Thancred was hardly the first drunk patron to get handsy with her. Thankfully, none of the other patrons seemed to mind the small scene that occurred.

Urianger fished around in Thancred’s coat, removing a large pouch of gil and handing it to Luna. She counted the coins, it was far more than what their bill came to be. Urianger stopped her before she could return any of the money.

“Think of it as an apology..and a thank you for the entertainment this evening.” Urianger smiled at Luna.

“Then I bid you both a safe journey home. Though please don’t tell the Warrior about your friend’s transgressions this evening. He tends to be a bit overprotective.” Luna replied with a bow.

“I shall keep it in mind, have a good evening lady Luna.” Urianger said as the two exited the bar.

Notes:

I will admit, I'm not particularly great with writing Urianger's speech. My unofficial HC is that he lessens it during more casual conversation. Or, as shown in 5.0, when he needs to quickly get to the point of the matter. Either way, it is something I plan to work on for my longer series.

Notes:

Just a bit of fluff that was strumming around in my head.

I have a few characters already worked out, but feel free to request any that are not already tagged.
